what the fuck is even the point of paying for online and having a friend system if 99% of games dont even utilize it
you know when they are online and you can look at potential games to buy that your friends liked their profile
makes me wonder if Nintendo has some sort of “No 100%” policy where every single good thing they make has to have some sort of shitty aspect to it
happens over and over and they refuse to learn
I hope there's a big enough backlash for it to be patched in.

Why do I pay 20 dollars a year for this shit nintendo?
Hoping this blows up. What's disgusting me more than anything is how quiet it was. It comes off like an attempt to sneak one past everyone.
i remember specifically getting excited during the direct because they mention "online co-op play" which is something you NEVER hear in nintendo's directs. i dont think they ever mention its only with randoms
How can I play a Mario Maker game without the best costume?

The deconfirmattion of the costumes, while disappointing, is a lot more understandable. Many costumes were of third party characters & licenses, and after the licensing hell Nintendo (I believe) went though with Smash Ultimate getting everyone back, they likely don’t want to have a repeat of that for Mario Maker 2.
And that 4-player offline has to have the person making the room be connected online.
I’m here laughing my ass off. “Affects Global ranking”? Uhhh how about you disabled it them while playing multiplayer.
Hey we didn't get multiplayer with friends but we goT THIS!!!!!11!

I have a feeling that nintendo is seeing a lot of things we don't, and they're just overly cautious. I used to keep up w/ neopets and some interviews with ex-staff members revealed some horrifying shit they had to keep under wraps and mitigate silently, and I'd imagine anything that allows expression that they can't monitor would need to be heavily restricted.
mostly unrelated but there was a glitch that revealed some internal stuff for some reason and gives some insight on what they see and watch out for:

I'm gonna put Slider on every stage.
They could just've brung back all the ones they had the licenses for? There's no reason why first party amiibo shouldn't be compatible. With multiplayer there's an even better reason to have the Mystery Mushrooms too; they could act as costumes for each player in SMB1 mode.
If they're not bothering with a PS4/Xbox One port, they're not gonna bother with a PC port
I'd imagine switch is the lowest rung on their ladder if they ever do a port.
I feel like the developers of super mario maker 2 had a good intention but are just... really out of touch when it comes to the value this has to people
its strange how monkey paw this kind of stuff is, nintendo keeps releasing masterpieces with odd, central flaws that all other games dont have
Quite big glaring flaws to boot. I still find pretty stupid that one console still needs to be connected to the internet to play local multiplayer on SMM2. I understand for online course but what about courses you downloaded? Or would that even be a option?

What? I'm literally the WORST person at MK. I think there's an issue with MKT ranking, that or they just paired all the worst people at Mario Kart into the beta.
you're playing against CPUs that are bad on purpose
I haven't seen much on this but what I read is that it's pretty much a Mario Kart 7 but on mobile.
Right but what I'm saying is why are other scores not higher than mine? Those are still real scores of other players. The AI isn't that bad either, and in some cases kinda cheats.
It's not bad but it does do dirty shit to push you into buying or spending premium currency for character/Kart rolls. For example how the kart system works as well as giving you the same rolls over and over (this seems to be common across the player base regardless of different characters).
Honestly, it's impressive how much worse they managed to make the game seem now in only a span of a few hours. Just been bad news after bad news.
I never expected Nintendo to release the next Fallout 76 -- not that I expect the game to be a train wreck the way FO76 was and is, but Nintendo has taken massive amounts of hype and goodwill from the community and turned it into anti-hype and disappointment by late-stage reveals of a few key things people didn't want to hear. This is exactly how FO76 went from #1 must-have to "excuse me what the fuck" in a couple weeks of back to back reveals of not-so-good news.
when was Fallout 76 ever a #1 must-have lmao
I mean, for Fallout fans. When it was first revealed, there was lots of hype for it. Then one piece of bad news after another came out week after week.
