Just got kicked from a server for saying this game "needs a katana cause they could cut through plate armour"
lol
Rip.
My defense from being kicked is to blame the person kicking me for the same thing.
Though I never do anything to justify being kicked other than be a rat or a pan man.
Not like those disgusting cowardly archers and ballista users.
Man, trying to play on duel servers right now is one hell of a gamble. Either you're put up against new players, or guys at level +30.
That aside, a friend of mine has begun playing, and he's enjoying the game, so I'm trying to teach him the ropes.
I like to say I'm pretty good, but fucking hell those duelists rape me. Lots of feinting and Bardiche jankery. Group fighting is my thing, really.

When you're playing Mordhau and hear the "HAVE AT EM BOIS" voiceline
I really hate duel servers now because it's all just people spamming their DPI switch back and forth while flailing with pole-type weapons.
Something I find a bit amusing though, is that some of the real tryhards, the type that'll try to feint you a dozen times in a row to get a laugh, do not seem able to comprehend when you don't fall for their shit and just attack instead. Managed to put a guy in the ground several times yesterday who did almost nothing but feint. He was completely unable to adapt to the fact that I was such a dumb, casual player who attacks like a headless chicken.
interrupting a protracted morph-feint is a great strategy, although I’ve met people who are an entire different form of human. The type who will triple morph and then slash chamber you mid morph into another feint.
Is gambling a legit thing or just a buzzword people like to use when their feints don't work?
gambling's a playstyle that involves just throwing shit at a wall with little regard, which directly counters slower, defensive playstyles that focus on learning their opponent due to there being less of a recognisable pattern for the player who's gambling
I dueled against someone who fainted so many times with his pole axe and then he parried only two times to then one the third hit I smacked his weapon out of his hands and killed him.
He then left the server.
I was using a cleaver and looking like an ugly mofo.
My tactic is strike first and always whenever possible and never feint. Stamina game stronk.
Yeah, a lot of people can't handle aggressive play, and hilariously enough I see it more with the duelists. A lot of them have trained themselves in to a somewhat rigid mindset.
Also on knocking stuff out of people's hands, I love smacking archers and watching them freak out that they no longer have their bow and a bastard with a bastard sword is swinging for their neck.

If fighting is sure to result in victory then you must fight!

I wish I knew the loadout area on other maps.

i love this game a lot but its in desperate need of a good content drop.
I feel like mostly in the map sector though. Weapon, skin etc. variety is clearly there and doesn't really need to be expended up. It's the same 4 maps which make the game somewhat stall.
If the next update brings modding and potentially mapping support, this game will go for a looong time.
Once you learn how the AI works in horde mode melee actually becomes extremely fun. I got to wave 17 the other day with a friend using just melee and luring the groups of enemies away on camp, cleaving like 3-4 heads off at a time
Beats the awful sit there and crossbow shit strat.
Also spikes are amazing against ai if you place them right
Honestly the only problem I have is the AI's fucking eagle eye 100% perfect aim with throwing weapons and bows
It's not fun to instantly die because you get pelted with 500 axes, knives and arrows even with all tier 3 armor.
We can probably go like, 6 months without any new weapons or armor pieces
I don't think we can last another 3 months without a couple of maps.
Realistically, I'd just like to see them add 2-3 maps in the next few months. The game will get a lot more longevity out of that, than anything else IMO.
Yeah the throwing weapons are pretty bullshit, if you lure enemies away you can mitigate it but you're pretty much dead otherwise.
The pavise shield stops you from getting shot in the back though.
You definitely meet some interesting characters in this game...

But why
Shields are still extremely powerful when used by groups of people in close proximity. If they want them to be good in 1v1 their huge teamplay power needs to get nerfed and they definetly shouldnt auto re-block on hit
Aw hell yeah, I can have a javelin only class now with other shit instead of just 12 points worth of throwing spears and about fuck and all for anything else
Roman Centurion cosplayers around the world, rejoice!
