Added client side chat mutes to context menu (normal mute - completely silences player, motivational mute - replaces user's next messages with motivational quotes) - muting is done by clicking on a user's message in the chat and selecting the options from the context menu, votekicking is also possible from here.
What an absolutely wonderful change.
Still no duel mode
I was secretly hoping for more cosmetics.
Quick weapon verdict:
Heavy Handaxe is perfect for engineer/medic/support builds. You will get BODIED in a 1v1 because it swings like slower than the maul (and hits like one too). Bad players will panic parry far too early if you drag even slightly. It really hits like a fucking monster truck.
Javelin exists soley for those of us who liked to throw the short spear. You won't across-the-map cap archers usually and only has two ammo (and can't be used to attack), but a headshot on anything that's not T3 is an instant-kill.
The new map is weird in that it's a fortress surrounded by a gigantic field with over a dozen horses, but the field and horses are totally optional and the only part of the map that matters is the middle. Now you can extrapolate and use hyperbole to say that every part of a frontline map that isn't the control point doesn't matter, but it's so blatantly just there for fun that it's a bit odd to look at.
I'm loving the heavy handaxe. Might just be because people aren't used to fighting it yet but that super slow swing speed is hilarious for dragging. I'm a maul / sledgehammer man at heart but this is a new favourite in my top selection. It looks dope too.
The siege engine is a big chonker. I cant wait to try it out.
The new map is kinda strange. Don't know if it'll stick.
I have kneejerk concerns about the heavy handaxe. Two shotting any level of armour with a slow swing speed is what the mace was already doing, but the heavy handaxe is a point cheaper, has a decent stab, and has the build utility. I haven't checked the numbers that carefully and I bet the devs already have, but it seems that it really could just be a better mace.
The crossroad experience.

this map is a lot of run even if javelins are flying everywhere.
It feels like being an engineer would be fun because you could set up no-horse zones.
I did not have the chance to try the update. Is Taiga more evenly balanced now?
They added an open entrance in the middle right after blue's river bridge, it's easier for blue to get to middle now.
Blue also spawns closer to the second spawn point instead of spawning inside the mines.
Excuse the frame pacing, DVR fucked up. But god damn I'm enjoying the javelin + short spear builds.

I finally saved up the 40k gold to get the Champion's Spear skin. Love it.

The heavy bevor might be my most favorite accessory in the game.
welcome to the spearman's club my guy, remember to alt-grip the spear for overall better performance in close quarters, especially since they buffed it some.
Handaxe is just what the doctor ordered for dedicated engineers.
The new map is ironically quite claustrophobic due to the majority of the action happening around the fort. The fort needs to be expanded because it just feels like a 64 player deathmatch map not a frontline map. It also heavily favors whoever takes the tower. The tower should absolutely not have all those resupply trunks on it as it just lets the team that takes it completely lock down that crucial area.
The player spawns are way too close to the central fort making horses absolutely useless; That isn't something you want in a horse based map.
TL;DR Make the camp larger, move the infantry spawns further back and remove the resupplies on the tower in the center of the camp.
I think crossroads is perfect for CTF, not so much frontline.
Crossroads is a little self defeating...
It's a big open field with lots of room for horses and horse gameplay... but what does that do for your team? The only objective is smack dab in the middle in an infantry only area. Controlling the plains does little to nothing to help your team win, so far most matches where one team has had open field dominance, they lose.
I love the map, I go out in the fields with a toolbox and a billhook, and plop barricades in front of people charging at me. Stops them, and then my billhook stops them for good.
Motivational mute is a blast.

it's really annoying how crossroads is designed so that horses are encouraged to constantly rush through the center and knock everyone around. it's already way too crowded on the objective so constantly getting pushed around and jerked out of your attacks is really not fun
Crossroads has some serious balance issues. If red takes the center point they can pretty much spawn camp right on top of blue. Unless you're willing to waste time running all the way from the horse spawn you're destine to lose if they take control of the walls right next to the blue spawn. Its pretty infuriating. Red side seems a little more balanced where its much harder for blue to camp on their spawn.
To be honest the only time I ever spend on the ground in Crossroads is after being knocked down and climbing back up.
Red has at least some manner of map advantage across most maps.
Are we still doing fashionhau?

I just discovered the keybinding that combines parrying and feinting into one key. This changes everything...
MuahahahaAHAAHA
I find that I sometimes accidentally parry when I don't mean to tho.
Yeah it's a double edge sword but I've found it's better overall.
