I just bash the fuck out of most of them. They either put their shield down and risk a hit or they keep turtling until they can't hold that shield up any longer. Of course there is the risk of them trying to get a chamber in, which is why you don't crowd them. Keep yourself just at the edge of your range in case they go for an attack. If they do, you back away let it whiff, then resume the assault. Honestly that is where I do best, in part thanks to dodge. Keep just at the edge of the enemy's range until they commit to a bad swing. Then close the distance and punish. Also makes it easier to get groups to hit each other. Circle them so when they attack their blows hit the guy next to them.

TIL you can morph into a kick.
Since kick was made usable I just kick the shit out of shields now.
Feint - Morph - Morphkick. This rotation of attacking people is getting me a lot done. In frontline where everyone expects you to be a one trick pony.
this game really needs more maps, desperately
I finally won a BR match in loosely skill-based fashion, pretty happy about it. Definitely not the cleanest fights but hey, as long as it works... https://youtu.be/RT39t6OaVN0
Picked this game up two days ago... 16 hours already. I don't regret a thing
*sees bear trap* *tries to disarm by kicking it*
You gotta get those mind games. It's the last thing the bear trap will expect.
Muscle memory, I tried to crouch first which was formerly bound to alt but now I use it for kick.
I wish more people realise you can just crouch over bear traps without setting them off. It's gotten to the point if I place traps blocking off a flank route the enemy uses I need to guard them so my idiot teammates don't trip them even though from our angle they're dead easy to spot. Alternatively, so many dumb teammates trying to disarm an enemy bear trap and end up blocking the way so the rest of the team can't get through. Especially on the logs in Taiga, just crouch over them you dolt, don't try to stab them from two miles away, then people get impatient and try to jump around and ragdoll into the river. Blue has it hard enough on that map, don't make it worse
Is it just me or are the Battle Royale servers especially horrible. They have like 8 times the lag of the other ones for me.
Made the Great Maul dude from Horde mode. https://i.imgur.com/17peYzz.png
While they probably want to keep every map distinct I wouldn't mind the rotation being padded out with maps assembled from reused assets. What they have looks versatile enough for it if you consider the general environment as a tileset.
Another thing they could do is change the game mode on the maps. They could do attack/defend versions of Grad and Taiga. Sieging the castle or foreset camp.
I just want a proper castle map. Give me ctf_2castle. Grad has so many cool little passages inside but so many of them go unused because charging up the stairs or through the gate is apparently just more practical.
I use the underground in Grad a lot because nobody ever goes down there. Particularly in the red attack last phase you can just stroll in and climb up into their towers and there's never anybody there to stop you.

I was under the impression that the rapier's (stab) attack speed is faster than any attack you can morph into with, well, anything that's not a rapier or dagger, which is what made the weapon dangerous. Are you supposed to just chamber until help arrives if the boardboi is using a rapier?
I use them too. It's rare for me to ever run into anyone, blue or red, but whenever I do the fights tend to be very interesting because of the limited space. I'd like to see more maps with complex layouts like that.
I know griefers can abuse the votekick because people automatically vote yes. But after starting using it yourself is such a relief. Had this asshole that kept building stuff that blocked us at spawn on Camp, but after that game, no more mr fuckass because I'm there.
Shit was so blatent, see archers do 180s in spectator or cycle enemies constantly.
there's always someone https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/58145/3bd6e4f1-a4a0-42aa-a5a2-e301f2e730e3/fekyou.jpg
Normally if i'm playing a battle royal match I always kill horses or dismount the fucker riding them. I have won 19 br matches over the past couple of days the normal way so when I saw a horse standing in front of me and a billhook in my hand I decided fuck it this is something different. Even got to joust another horse rider to death in between booping people. 9 kills all in all so not too bad with the right weapon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EQXCsOfmTA&feature=youtu.be
Just tried my shield character for the first time since the kick patch. Holy shit this is complete bullshit. It's impossible to tell when someone's coming in to attack or when someone's coming in to kick, it's retardedly easy to combo into a kick, there's no defense against it and even if I'm not blocking it knocks me back, takes off 20 stamina and deals 15 damage even when I'm in full tier 3 heavy armor, what the fuck. This is some shit rebalancing, why the fuck do kicks do any damage at all. I'm fine with the range, the range is perfect and makes complete sense, but it's WAY too easy to just run up to someone and spam F until they're dead. Kicking either needs to take way more stamina, not combo with attacks, or do zero damage on anyone with armor, or maybe all three. Even fighting people without shields this shit is way too easy to abuse.
You can counter kicks if you also hit F when you get kicked, but I've never had to use it much so I haven't gotten the hang of it personally, don't know how viable of a defence it is.
I've seen six people so far get kicked for no reason. The worst is when the griefer copies someone's name and griefs, initiates votekick on the real dude, and the innocent dude gets kicked. I pretty much vote no everytime now regardless of a griefer (I'm not particularly affected by griefers at all anyways). My friend tested this by just joining on me, initiated a votekick on the top fragger and the dude got kicked. Was p messed up but it's a giant flaw in the vote kick system that is easily abused.
Honestly the things I'd like in the game are mechanics for breaking stalemates and something for helping comebacks in frontline. I have no idea what such mechanics would be. But the best moments of the game for me come when there's a bunch of players in a general area with elevation. Maybe getting pushed back to the base could allow a home field advantage in more vehicles and traps being available for the area when you're pushed back to your last defense. It's somewhat like that in the castle map but it'd be nice to see a harder challenge for the team at an advantage. But that's the sort of dynamics I personally like.
Man, to hack in a game like Mordhau... That's one special type of pathetic. Locking and auto-parrying... Jesus.
