This forum is near-impossible to view on the phone though.
RIP sending turns/replies during lunch.
Supposedly the mobile version is being worked on.
Everything's so smooshed to the right despite the fact I thought one of the big reasons for newpunch was to make it mobile friendly.
Which is funny because using oldpunch on mobile is as good as on desktop.
Like Infab mentioned, I really hope that it's being worked on. Cause I've been really agitated about how I can only properly (just barely) read threads while I have my phone in landscape mode.
That said, I'm sure they'll get around to fixing it eventually. And the better, cause after this sudden shift it's their asses on the line if they can't deliver.
There aren't any plans to jumping to a new website like it suggests in the OP, right?
None for now.
Good. If we do, I hope someone messages me. I know I don't really participate in RPs anymore but I do like to check in on the community every now and then.
If the community leaves FP, I probably would leave FP altogether.
Where do i tick this option?
If using Chrome, go to your tab options and tap the "Desktop site" box.
Thanks, works great.
I really don't like newpunch.
What was wrong with oldpunch that we have to switch?
It was running on old out of date forum software that was a about to breakdown at any moment. See any time AtomicSans had a change in their title.
vbulleton was falling apart and this site is more secure.
I don't understand the complexities of website construction, so forgive my ignorance, but how exactly can a website or code structure it's built on be "falling apart"? If it's properly maintained shouldn't it work just fine into infinity until web browsers no longer support the code architecture?
I don't really understand it either, but to the best of my knowledge, it's sort of like trying to run a really old program on a really new computer/OS.
It can work, and will to a point, but some things just don't 'click' right. And since the old forum software was no longer being updated, the more things wouldn't work as time progressed.
I think it was more about vbulleton not being updated anymore than keeping what we had running smoothly.
I think the best way to put it is like upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 8.1. It works better and is up-to-date although it comes at the cost of a simpler, easier to use UI.
Was the use of Win8.1 intentional to poke at the new forums being subpar compared to the old ones in terms of user experience or?
