Adobe Premiere CS6.
I don't understand why people are disagreeing. I've been using PPro for years, you really need nothing much more in a nonlinear editor.

ugh judging by that sentence I'm still having a stroke

Short, but damn if it isn't effective. I love that movie.
To each his own I guess. I don't like Vegas one bit but everyone in this community does it seems. I've been using Premiere since CS4 and never had any problems with it.

I personally find Vegas Pro much more "down-to-earth" than Premiere, which kinda goes through, idk, layers of abstraction for your footage? (e.g. it's a sequence, then a clip, then a shot and whatever I still don't know)
in Vegas, you get your footage, and that's that. bam. AFTER THAT you can cut it / edit it fundamentally at properties level but it's entirely optional.

I like Vegas a lot because it doesn't lag as much as Premiere, so it feels much better to use. But lately I've experienced headaching crashes sadly

I use a 3rd party editor because I'm piss-poor. Whoo... :v:

again it's mostly just the keyframe shit. that and adding text is a pain too. AE is so much nicer. i wish it had adobe media encoder (or whatever premiere uses) support. basically i want and AE with friendlier render settings that don't make huge ass mother fucking files. i've never used vegas but premiere is kind of a bitch. sorry adobe / reemix
i hope valve / someone gives SFM the capability to import video files. would make recreating shit so much nicer (then you can have the ingame view and the thing you're trying make next to each other and on the same frame)

Hope you guys like it, I put 40-50 hours into it.
This was well directed, with some great action.
However I think it has a huge flaw- it feels like two separate movies patched together. The first two minutes have absolutely NOTHING to do with the red spy. Then the rest of the movie is all about the red spy.
If it was an animation test video, a video of random sequences, or something experimental, that wouldn't matter. But I think in a linear storytelling video you don't really have the luxury of doing this. You have a few minutes to tell your story, you need to make it all work together. That means you need the red spy somewhere in those first two minutes OR simply edit out those first two minutes. The red spy is going to sneak in the blue base and attack the enemy, do we really need to see those first two minutes to understand that? I don't think so.
The video posted right before yours "Release the sandvich" is a good example of what I mean. It starts with the engineer and ends with the engineer. It incorporates other characters but does not lose track of who the movie is about.
Finished my second SFM video other than my Dan Was Boobies video. Decided to go for a serious thing this time.

first actual animation wooh
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0FEVpRnbPU
I had so much trouble figuring out how to do the keyframe animations people were doing until I just tried out the graph editor and figured out it's hell as easy just like stop-motion animating, except it's better because SFM does transitions for you
wooh
did this in a rush yesterday and didn't have time to perfect the facial animations or anything, just a test after all

I don't have a problem with it. Alfred Hitchcock did this with Psycho.
Psycho was a full length movie. There's a big difference in how you can tell a story in 7 minutes vs if you have an hour and a half. In Psycho, Hitchcock had enough time to work to an ending that had a twist, a twist that only works because of the Marion/Norman scenes way back in the beginning. [sp]involving talk about Norman's mom[/sp] So even though a character in Psycho is only present in the first part of the movie, those scenes later have a huge impact on the audience's understanding of what was going on.
In the spy movie, nothing in those first scenes has any relevance to what happens later. You can start watching that movie from the part where the spy starts his infiltration and still get the full impact of the spy's story.

Here's another example focused on lighting.
Have fun guyz :D
I was toying with manual lip syncing as this was the result. There really isnt much body movement but then again that wasnt the focus.

On a side note: I dont like lip syncing the medic.
I will also make a new thread in a bit explaining how I did the realtime color change of the heavy.
-snip- going to rebuild and take the shot again with better FOV.
not bad but the camera could use a little work. Maybe lower the FOV a little?

interesting use for the under water effect. I recommend looking into custom color correction if you plan to make the medic have a stronger acid trip.

So you already figured out how to create custom CC?
So you already figured out how to create custom CC?
Its just a console command to bring up the menu for it. Go into play mode, do the command, customize to your hearts content, save it, then load it in SFM mode to put it on select parts of the vid.
