The pelvis has to have an up/down motion, otherwise it looks floaty.

Have the torso a tiny bit higher, looks too much like a run cycle in gow.
Unless, that's what you're going for that is.
I am working on a script to do reall puppets in sfm...this is one small result

Give him a longer stride. Men often have long strides, whereas women will often have short strides.
Oh, and be sure to have his head go up and down. The only people whose heads stay perfectly level while walking are freaks of nature.

This should help a bit with the head.

Don't let the thumbnail decieve/arouse you too much.
I see we're posting tests..
These are my first adventures inside of animating with SFM (Mostly did posters prior)
The first test is messing around with putting hats and changing weapons on pre-recorded characters, and moving camera, as well as after-posing a sequence. Oh and lip-syncing.
Second test was trying the actual self-done animating, which I learned how from finding out how to move a camera. v:v:v

Back out and zoom in (Reduce FOV)
Also, you should take a look at this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds
here we go

Thanks to Zachariah for the tutorial, this effect looks so lovely!

I know about the rule of thirds, but do I really have to use it for tests?
Also, what is your obsession with Reduced FOV? Can you explain the reason to me?

If you're testing your filmmaking ability... yeah. And reducing the FOV gets rid of that warping effect at the edges of the screen.
If you're testing your filmmaking ability... yeah.
Good thing I'm not. I'm not practicing actual filmmaking in those, I'm practicing the bare basics. Like, getting the spy's hand to move was the biggest stepping stone there. :v:I didn't even know anything about animating in SFM prior to making the videos.

Warping effect? I don't see what you mean myself but I guess I can start using less FOV, I've been avoiding it since it makes me feel uneasy moving the camera around the map and using game (F11) mode
Edit:
I might go back and re-edit them to see if I fixed what you guys are talking about

Thanks for the FOV advice btw, and reminding me of the rule of thirds, I'll keep it applied in future tests

I've been working on a thing for valentines day, but I'm not going to be able to get it done in time so I just uploaded this for the time being.
Just some storyboards for a short I'm going to finish soon.

Not sure why I did this.
Walk animation poorly retargeted from Mutank's Soldier walk on SFMBox.
I think this was going to be something that WASN'T retarded but one thing led to another and I got this.
