I'm a one-man team and I'm animating a 10-minute video on my own, and even with storyboarding, writing a script and contacting VA's that would fit the characters, I still haven't gotten to the actual animation-part because it takes time to get everything together before that process begins. Not realizing this will be the death of your project in the long run.
Yup. People working on creative projects need to realise that if you try to eat the dessert before you've finished your vegetables, your project is getting food poisoning. Permanently.

I'll be keeping an eye on this and see how long he makes progress before seeing all of his ambitions, hopes and dreams collapse. I give it a week, since his only ally is "SFM-User" or something he doesn't really have a lot to work with. He can't even make proper concept art, what exactly would he be credited for? He has no idea of basic camera angle, lighting or anything useful for a movie project. This isn't just underestimating how much effort this kind of project is, it's downright insulting to anybody creating animations or posters with SFM since it basically implies that it requires no effort at all while some users are really creating some great art with this.

This is both hilarious and cringe worthy.
hello, idea man good to see you, idea man good bye, idea man
Shrek fights the astroturfers Shrek is truth Shrek is justice (wow, though. really. astroturfing your own amateur project on facepunch... what kind of mind?)
He already scrapped it, removed his Deviantart Account and all traces he ever wanted to do this. Except this thread of course.

Just removed the link from his FP Profile then soz.

I do feel a bit sorry for the guy now. I mean, I know it was never going to happen, but Jesus we dogpiled on the kid straight away.. haha.

But life is brutal. I tried to do the exact same thing two years ago (but for a mod). After getting dogpiled, sure I was a little sad, but got my stuff together because I really wanted to make the damn thing. The mod is now in development, going slow because I only work on it in free time, but happening. If he really cares about finishing it, he'll do it, and feel very proud of himself.
^^ It's honestly better to bring him down to reality now before he wastes a huge amount of his time for something that likely never had a chance. I know this kind of over-excitement from myself and fellow creative minds. If your goal was ever possible, you will rise from the criticism anyway.
