facepunch is a forum. Afaik, it's one of the biggest SFM sections as far as forums go. Certainly the most productive.

.zip only?
why not at least allow .rar as well?
[QUOTE=legolover122;37038973].zip only?

Zip is the most universal format, everyone knows how to use it.
If we're going to accept another format it wouldn't be rar, it would be 7z due to the fact its compression is better.

Open rar, put it in a folder, delete the rar

Put folder in zip
Easy peasy lemon squeezey.

Or we just make the user do it instead of wasting server resources, plus getting rar to work with php can be a pain and a legal issue as you technically need a license to allow php to interface with it (not like anyone cares).
I don't really like the logo.

It's already bigger than the SFM section on SPUF.
The default on FP is, for me, a little messy.
Would like some separate sections for better helping and collaboration possibilities.
You know what I mean.

I think you should actually enforce 7zip, because not only it's going to make it easier on the bandwidth, but it's also going to serve as an idiot filter
I have a suggestion , prehaps you could add a tutorials section ?
Ya know so that user created tutorials are easier to find for people that want to learn SFM . And prefferably it could be like 1 tutorial per subject so you dont have like a 100 tutorials on how to add hats n such .

Got a point, however again its a matter of how widely used it is, zip beats 7zip in that area.
Regardless we'll decide if we're only going to enforce one or we'll accept both.

Can look into it but it'll be hell to manage if we allow users to freely submit them, as it will end up with multiple tutorials for the same thing, I can already see it happening.
So I guess another method would be to have people contact us/we look for well detailed tutorials/have someone write them for us and we set them up like a mini-wiki or something along the lines of that.

Update to the submission page, added in the owner/moderation bar allowing editing and deletion of the submission and the template for commenting.

Basically it's only for things such as models, maps, animations etc. that were set up to specifically to work in Source Filmmaker. Anything uploaded there should work right out of the box without the need or use of any "workarounds".

I'm still considering adding an incompatible category for things which half work but I can see it getting flooded with gmod reuploads.

Why the logo says DEPOT when the actual site is called DEPO?

Name was/is never final, hell it might not be called resource depot next week.
"Source Filmmaker Studios" like it's a movie studio where you find sets, actors, and props to make your movies with.

Sounds more like a video sharing site to me.
this is just me, but shouldn't the logo be like a crate or something with movie stuff sticking out? since this is a website where we upload useful stuff that others will find useful?

I personally would rather not see that happen. My intention for the site was for it to be a resource that anyone can come to now or in a couple years and know that what ever it is they find there will work with no hassles.
Not everyone has the know how to do things like modeling and scripting and the like. I for one can model things I need for a scene. If I need a new chair, I can make it. A new table or a lamp for the table, no problem. But ask me to write a script for anything in Source and I'm no help at all. That's where the resource site comes in. I can go there and find something some awesome coder guy made and know it will work. No guesses, no worries.
There's my two cents anyway. Just wanted to share what my ideas were for the site when I first posted my "request" for such a site to exist.
Miz keeps poking me for a domain suggestion and I can't really decide, so throw some suggestions and I'll pick which one we like the most, ideally a short and easy to remember domain will be ideal.
