There's such thing as too much abbreviation. I'm all for short and memorable but at least one word should be there. Having SFM plus a word is a nice balance.

GameBanana is about games of course but there are plenty of decent item submitters there. I release content there for one, and a handful of the emporium bunch came from/still release content there. It most certainly isn't about bananas heh.
TF2Maps has a rich community like FacePunch that do various other things. They also work on models just like the emporium does. My point was mainly that though map making is the main focus, they make tons of other things for use with maps, such as prefabs and scripts. Which relates to this Filmmaker site, as though I put prop department, it meant there could be many other things for Source Filmmaker.
Like I said though, it's too long.

I'm making an SFM website, and managed to snap up the (I can't believe it was) unregistered SFM.tv name. Do you think that's a decent name? I honestly couldn't think of a name to call my site, but I think just calling it "SFM.tv" is good enough.
As for this guy's site, since its main purpose will be file hosting and such, I agree with your idea, a "prop department" style name would be perfect. Maybe just SFMProps? I dunno, lol. Also, SourceFilmmaker.XX in a crapload of different TLDs are available right now, if you wanna go that route
