I came across one thing, a submission that didn't seem to have main record. Could someone who uploaded explain what happened with:
Nice to see some more content in the thread! Curious question, is this image an embed option of some sort? Seems like a good idea if not. Just a thought!
Well i could post some of the maps ive made there but im not sure weather its fully tested out and such
Well i could post some of the maps ive made there but im not sure weather its fully tested out and such
If you're referring to the site, I believe kinks are still being ironed out before any big announcement. It seems the site is still being put together. It's usable, but until it's fully announced I personally wouldn't recommend uploading anything or tampering too much with the site unless Miz or eddy-t- specifically ask for users to test something. If you're however referring to your map, I would encourage you to make sure it's in at least some form of stable state before uploading the content.

Cause i do make all my SFM maps in the SFM editor now that i know that . And they are all stable
What do you mean by stable state ? Cause i do make all my SFM maps in the SFM editor now that i know that . And they are all stable
Stable means lots of things. It's hard to really condense everything into this post, but things like excessive amounts of things causing major lag spikes, or elements in the map possibly causing program crashes, or leaks. I don't know really, you'll know if it's stable or not most likely. I should clarify that I wasn't at any point calling your map quality into question. I didn't know if your question referred to the map you wanted to upload or the site itself, and thus tried to help to the best of my ability by responded to both. I hope this clears up any confusion. Edit: You should probably note however that making something in the Source Filmmaker version of Hammer doesn't necessarily mean your map is definitely stable or usable. There's not much difference as far as I am aware between the two versions of Hammer. I still compile all my content in the standard TF2 version of Hammer and never have any problems using them in Source Filmmaker. As long as you compile in HDR and have no major issues when trying to use it it should be good to go!

But no from what i noticed most of the maps ive made so far for sake of filming havent rly laged that much , they arent FULL maps more like stages for certian shots , but from what ive noticed non of them lag on my computer or cause the thing to crash or something . I was also reffering mostly to the site , so when i put something up for upload it actually uploads unlike on garrys mod where you wait for a hour and then it ends up not uploading it . ANd there isnt much diffrence but from what i noticed maps compiled in SFM hammer work only in sfm cause in garrys mod they tend to crash . But then again that was with my old computer
I wasnt lashing out so i apologize if it seemd that way.
No need to apologize. I was just trying to be of service. No need to worry.
Sorry about the two month bump, but is this project dead? Because the SFM Depot is online with test uploads only.
Sorry about the two month bump, but is this project dead? Because the SFM Depot is online with test uploads only.
Backburner currently, not dead just got other things going on so it's died down. After the 8th I'll try to get the rest of the design side finished then its up to miz.
Looks good, can't wait for it because I'd rather not upload the SFM models I am making to FPSb. or dropbox
Looks good, can't wait for it because I'd rather not upload the SFM models I am making to FPSb. or dropbox
Aware this is why I wanted to do it in the first place, but like said its ended on the backburner for most of the month and all my files are on my desktop not my laptop (and I really can't do a svn sync on this thing as the wifi is pretty poor).
Lot's of people are still waiting for this site. I'm pretty sure it's going to explode of popularity in a first week. Just don't put it away.
I know I am watching It like a hawk. I love new models to play with!

I was most excited to see this thread with some new replies too. Don't worry so much about rushing to get back to this project. If there are more important lifey things you have to sort out, I'd sort them out. I look forward to any updates regardless.
Is to do list from OP up to date?
Is to do list from OP up to date?
Not really.
So, when we will be able to upload files to SFM Depot? I tried but it doesn't work.
So, when we will be able to upload files to SFM Depot? I tried but it doesn't work.
Simply put; when the site is completed. An announcement has yet to be made declaring the site open for use. Real life often takes precedence over projects like this. What you have to remember is the Depot is a free system that is being worked on entirely in free time. Given that creating something like this isn't a paid job, it occasionally has to go on the back-burner for more important things.
Okay, thanks for answering my question.
cant wait to see the site
Any good news people? [editline]20th December 2012[/editline] Just noticed that unfinished site supports uploading. Mind if I share few SFM related models?
Any news at all?
Looks like someone beat you to the punch.
Alright!
I'd totally be okay with it if anyone had asked if they wanted to rip my files off of workshop and upload them for SFM use. I'm not selfish enough to have them taken down because I know they're useful, and I really want people to have good access to my work, but at least some respect to the currently uncredited authors would have been nice.
Looks like someone beat you to the punch.
I'm not a fan of that layout. Something inside me feels claustrophobic when the mouse is constantly interacting with and animating the site with no spacing between things.
Looks like someone beat you to the punch.
There's also 2 others that I know of which are semi working. Regardless we'll finish this eventually, miz is busy with his hexide projects, I've got this to finish designing and multiple personal issues and things to work around.
