I just downloaded a hexed version of the female spy from garrysmod.org and dumped it straight into SFM. Works fine unless you enable AO, that would require the author to recreate it I think. Then again, it never hurts to you know, contact the creators. I needed help with a model that I was using, I looked up the creator and he gladly helped me out.
The hexed model doesn't work either. Still just the bones with no model. I guess I'll see what ChemicalAlia has to say about it, then. Thanks anyway.
I'm trying to decompile
stop
stop
You're a talented and helpful individual, do you really need to be so venomous? It's unbecoming of you.
You're a talented and helpful individual, do you really need to be so venomous? It's unbecoming of you.
thanks, but if "venomous" means having to repeat 50 times that decompiling is the worst thing you can do, then yes, i'll be venomous
As I posted above, this is what you'll most likely receive from decompiling, and take into mind I've been animating in the Source Engine for a few years now and even I cant figure this shit out and why it wont decompile correctly, all I know is every single variant of MDL decompiler or Studio Compiler I try to use fucks up. I recompiled the Sonic Unleashed models for eye posing yesterday and they all turned out perfectly. If I had listened to you I would have been sitting here whining that I can't use custom models because it will look bad without the ability to use their eyes. I assume that it doesn't work in all situations, however the fact that it worked for the three models I tried it on is more than enough for me to at least consider it as an option.

I am working on a custom TF2 train with a bunch of stuff that can be manipulatable if it will be of use for anybody? Its not super big its small but can fit the tf2 characters.
I am working on a custom TF2 train with a bunch of stuff that can be manipulatable if it will be of use for anybody? Its not super big its small but can fit the tf2 characters.
yes
I am looking information up for my friend who is working on a model. He currently has it rigged and modeled in MAYA but I am not sure where I would find a guide to bring it to SFM. Could anyone point me in the right direction? My search function is disabled so I am having a hard time.
Anyone working on any custom TF2 models? anyone taking up any requests? I lack the software and the knowledge. Would love some custom models.
I'm actually working on modifying a hexed engineer model I was asked to do. I have no clue what the fuck I'm doing but I edited the mesh to my liking and I'm working on the texture right now. As for recompiling and getting it into SFM, I'll just have to find out.
Does this trick apply for maps as well?

do i have to convert the ship models and stuff
Hello there, i have absolutly no experience in modeling, but maybe you can help me. im currently making a longboard downhill movie, but there are no proper longboard models for source. so im just using a skateboard at the moment. there is a nice sketchup collada model of my favorite dervish-longboard, but its high-poly and not ready for source yet. Has anyone thought about SSBB models in SFM? Because, the project to port them from Brawl has probably been cancelled since luigimario has went back to take care of his life and ApocHedgie has lost all interest
What about MMD models, they work without convertion?
