When it comes to adult content, I think that it should be noted as a search term, and make it adult content unable to pop up by browsing through. Children use SFM too.

Also, it would be nice if there was a universal "readme" text file template that everyone can download and use. Something that has the bases covered, Author's name, Model creation date, Description, installation location, etc... Not all of us are good at making nice readme files... *cough* mine suck! *cough* :rolleyes:

It was registered on July 3 to someone in NSW, Australia. Anyway, the domain is whatever- I like the look of what's been shown so far.

Children use SFM too.[/QUOTE] I understand this 100% but I don't think too much thought should go behind it, children may use it but think about it, if these kids are smart enough and active enough to know their way around SFM and steam and this possible web site, I'm sure they will know a way around this or may ignore it completely.

Oh, and when it comes to the domain name, how about SFMDepo.com? It's easier to remember, and it is straight to the point.

It's Depot, not Depo. With regards to copyrights, what about content ported from other games? I've used a lot of star wars content ported from Jedi academy. Nobody's going to feel slighted by that, yet there's still no real permissions involved. Plus, we're decompiling and reusing maps we didn't make either.

The domain is my last thing. Domains to me mean nothing. Facepunch.com has nothing to do with Garrys Mod yet it was first created as a forum meant for GMod. Demonoid has nothing to do with torrents.. Maybe evil? idk Yahoo? Thats a made up word! domain names helped SEO when search engines did not exist, but nowadays you invent a word that can be remembered and it can take off depending on the content. A name does not make a site.

Well I'm glad to see that I'm not the only person who had the idea for a resource site like this! But I'm also glad that it's gone from just being an idea to something that's that's actually becoming a reality. I personally have no experience in converting models from one format to another, but I look forward to having a place where I can share any of my original models made for SFM.

Yes, we need a site with models that have working eyes and face flexes. I'm all for it.

Ok passed over the template I was working on to a friend who is doing the site backend, the login system is already in place so its just a means of building up on that. I don't suspect this will be done soon so a few days at least as this is being done side by side with another site we're working on together. Also for licenses (to be set when you upload) I've decided on having all of the CC licenses, GNU GPL and WTFPL.
