Alright. Sounds good. i'll probably do an image dump for the Terrans sometime soon.
Aw cmon Vosque
Image dump time, then.

A Fully powered "Avenger" craft. An Avenger, while normally a troop carrier, also doubles as an amazingly powerful Interceptor/Fighter Craft. It's thick armor, combined with light weight, makes it a vertisile fighter and a Dangerous Combatant to any hostile force that's unlucky enough to fight with it. Pictured is it's ultimate weapon: The Anti-Matter Cannons, which, when powered by Elerium, shoot out Jolts of Anti-Electricity, which can phase through almost anything, and Anti-Matter Using Engines. It is the fastest craft apparently for it's time, with a top speed of nearly 120,000km/h for it's atmospheric Top Speed, and given that space doesn't have drag or momentum loss, it is ultimately the fastest craft without using Drives.

What appears to be a fully Equipped Basic X-Com Agent, it's a highly sophesticated Nanobot infused suit of Personal Armor, made with highly reinforced Terranium (The Early Alloy of Titanium, Scandium, and Nickel, used currently as Metal for Armors and craft). It has a built in Anti-Energy Shield, fueled by Elerium. The Gun the soldier is holding is found to be an undiscovered "Gauss Rifle". It is unknown how it works, due to lack of time spent decrypting it.

The Capital City of Terra, you can see in the structure to the far right as being the Senate District, where the Senate is held. An X-Com Base is somewhere within that jumbled mess, hidden well within it.
It is walled off from the surrounding land for additional security.

An X-Com battle between the Squad led by Jack Reyulant and a band of Pirates. The mission in question is response to a raid on a Mining Station on Nuva by the Pirates. The person firing the Lasers is Jack himself, showing that even when he's wounded, he'll still kill hostiles with minimal accuracy loss.
That city picture is pathetic, have this instead.

Hull Classes: Fighters, Corvettes, Cruisers
-Two new systems are claimed, Pavelan and Isolus.
-Strip mining increases on Solusta Hazus and Canopus.
-Mass transport of the population o Solusta Hazus to Oture Hazus begins. Entire cities are built to accommodate them.
-More hydrogen and helium plants are built to harvest from Rotuna Hazenus.
-More metals mines on Archenar, Pluras, Jaysus, Jiang, Jios, Disaro's Moons, Paladine's moons, Belldan's moons, Gileryd's moons, Sirius Tau, and Eadrax are built. Fissile material mines are built on Bruan Pepori.
-New Birthing Fields are constructed on Otura Hazus and all other Veran Colonies.
-Colonisation of Jaysus, Jiang, Jios, and the habitable moons of Disaro, Paladine, and Gileryd begins. Each colony is rather small, but all seem to survive well.

Eternalflamez
Technology: Projectile weapons, Fusion Engines
Hull Classes: Fighters, Corvettes,
-Elves appear to the galaxy. The society is made up of the ruling-class High Elves and the far larger working-class Low Elevs. Both races are identical in appearance, but High Elves are seen as wiser and older. High Elves enact a strict rule.
-Zero-Point Energy research begins and produces fair results. While nothing of great use has come out of it, commercial goods are converted to far more efficient versions. Trial usage on vehicles shows promise.
-A Grox FTL comm array is located and cracked. The message asks for alliance and trade. The Elves accept and send the probe back with their acceptance.
-A new system is claimed. 2 uninhabitable rocky planets and a hot Jupiter.
(WE MAY HAVE BEEN SKIMPING ON THIS IN THE PAST, BUT FROM HENCEFORTH WE DECIDE THE PLANETS AND THEIR RESOURCES)

Hull Classes: Fighters, Corvettes
-Pew pew needlers pew carbon cystal shooters pew
-First Fleet, following their map, finds a system with a lush jungle world. This system has extensive black ruins not dissimilar in style to those found originally. An expedition to the surface find partially-underground buildings seemingly for housing and commerce. It seems the ruins were once a city. A surviving statue seems to indicate the species were thin, tall, ram-headed humanoids that walked not dissimilarly to gorillas with spindly legs. No working technology is found, but remnants of personal transports and devices are retrieved. Written records and archives are collected, but the language is unreadable. Much of the city is overgrown with jungle growth, but a sheltered district seems mostly in tact, technology and all. The team is extracted before nightfall, because would you really want to stay in an alien jungle? Me neither. Shit aint smart.
-Second Fleet reaches the system they were heading for. Nothing notable that won’t be included in planet catalogue.
-Third Fleet claim a system. Two gas giants, one of which is experiencing some fashion clashin cause that blue stripe totally don’t match that green one, honey, and a desert planet. Desert planet is inhabited with hostile primitive fishmen (didn’t expect that did ya? Fish in a desert. How ridiculous.)
-What was supposed to be the Fourth Fleet is instead split and used to reinforce the existing three, due to lack of admirals to run a new fleet (actually we’re just going to do the fleet thing differently from now on.)
-X-Com probes are sent to the systems predicted to be located near the location of the Second Fleet. Indeed, there does seem to be existing systems there, and 2 out of the three are determined to hold planets, and potentially even ships. The third holds nothing but a single gas giant with some odd-shaped spots. MIGHT WANNA CHECK THAT OUT YO. Or not. It might be like “Shit man that’s the coolest fucking bee hive I even dun saw let’s go and get a closer look.” Or it might not. Who knows?
-Brim is mined extensively.
-A colony begins in the shallow seas of Cen’s Tear. Small at the start. The populace makes a living out of hunting whale-like things and giant, 10-kilometer long sea-worms, which become quite the delicacy in Hypernia.
-The private colony between Quel and the Space Dock is fortified.

Technology: Projectile Weapons, Fusion Engines, Advanced ADC-FTL Drives, Blink-Point Drives, Reinforced hull armor for ships, HECS, Heat-resistant shielding, HECS Stealth Modules, Plasma Weapons, Carbon-Crystal Weapons
Hull Classes: Fighters, Corvettes
-Plasma weapons are developed (shit its like Halo up in here with you and the Hyperkin). They propel plasma generated inside the weapon by super-heating atmosphere and magnetically accelerating it.
-Teleportation experiments somewhat succeeded. I say somewhat, because 3 Hygarth are teleported. 2 of them are dead and fucked up on the receiving end, and the third ends up with his genitals now located on his face. He makes a living in fetish porn with corny scientific plotlines.
-A new shipyard is finished on Kambor. (Except now it’s like useless).
-A huge-ass ship is made in the new shipyard. It’s like fucking huge. Fitted with the newest tech, it’s a formidable ship. It is named the Pluit Kambor. As great as it is, it doesn’t stand much of a chance without a fleet to join. It patrols space alongside the VDF Pluit Mortem.
-An offer to participate in the slave trade of Hypernia is extended.
-Terrans in Vanduran space are brutally beaten in the streets by Hygarth and Rhauks, and Terran stores in the Space Dock are ransacked by angry Vanduran citizens. The outrage is caused by perceived hybridization programs under the Terrans’ X-Com.
-VDF Kambor and VDF Mortem patrol Vanduran space and escort Vanduran market ships in an enforced ban of Terrans from Vanduran space.
-The new Terran leadership extends apologies for the actions of Jackson and the nationalists in a bid to open relationships. When a diplomatic conference is met at the Space Dock over the issue, mediated by Hyperkin, the Terrans explain that the purpose of their program is not experimentation and hybridization, but rather research on the capabilities and physicalities of pre-existing, volunteering, Hygarm, which came through interactions between Terrans and Hygarth and were not forced. It is the Terran belief that the Vanduran sentiments are misunderstandings. The Vandurans seem to accept this answer, and both races back off a bit, although tension is high. Vandurans do not accept further interbreeding of the races.
-Under security from their powerful navy, Vandurans begin to see colonies popping up, both private and national. Hyperkin immigration increases dramatically. Many new colonies see almost half of their population Hyperkin.
(WE MAY HAVE BEEN SKIMPING ON THIS IN THE PAST, BUT FROM HENCEFORTH WE DECIDE THE PLANETS AND THEIR RESOURCES)
-A private system, Kjuit, containing 3 gas giants and an ice world is claimed. A small colony begins on the ice world.
-Ingenti Minor is claimed but contains only one gas giant, a hot rocky dwarf planet and a large asteroid belt.
-The Dirige System is claimed and contains 5 planets. All of which bar one are small lava worlds. The remaining world is huge in size and was mistaken from a distance to be a gas giant but was later realized to be a huge water world. The water world is named Manaan and is 12 times larger than Tambor, but has no landmasses whatsoever. It is colonized by an ingenious band of Hygarth that begin constructing a settlement on huge pylons from the ocean floor (final product, right now it’s rather small).

The United Sol Confederacy
UrbanMachismo
Projectile Weapons, Fusion Engines, Advanced Lasers, Advanced Shielding, Hyperspace Drives, Advanced Particle Weapons
Hull Classes: Fighters, Corvettes, Frigates
-Advanced shielding systems are created. (I’m too lazy to specify on this. Also, you should have gotten your hyperspace gates, buuut we aren’t allowing for teleportation things yet, I guess, even though I told someone (you?) that it was possible. This is my fault and I apologize.)
-A shipyard begins construction in the Sol asteroid belt.
-An early warning array is constructed on Pluto.
-An intricate set of early warning stations and defense stations are built around Sol space as it is now.
-Two new systems are claimed. They are filled with space and stuff.
-Mars, Bragi, Loki, Freyr, and Kvasi have small colonies established. Volunteers from Earth are shipped to these colonies and they all seem rather successful.
-Trade links expand greatly.
-A series of probes are sent towards the galactic core.
-Elerium is discovered on Luna.

DanRatherman
Technology: Projectile weapons, Ground-based projectile artillery, Fusion engines, Improved Infantry Armor and Weapons, Genius Birth, Orbital Construction, Improved Ship Weapons
Hull Classes: Fighters, Corvettes,
-Ship-mounted weapons are improved upon.
-10,000 men land on Avongard to support the expansion of the colony there, which is now of considerable size. The first skyscraper is erected on the colony. The First Avongard Special Operations Legion sufficiently prevents further disruption by native Ape Men until Valentian weapons fall into their hands. Small groups of guerrilla Ape Men cause persistent problems in what becomes a wearing insurgency. Groups of Valentians begin to speak in favor of the Ape Men’s cause. At least two Valentian colonists on Avongard are arrested trying to smuggle weapons into the jungle, and it’s unknown how many more are doing the same.
-The message on the Veran probe is cracked: “We are the Veran Empire, the long lost allies of the Valentians after the Great 42nd War of Hexuron.” Additionally, astronomer pinpoint the location of the Veran systems.

StarToad
Technology: Projectile Weaponry, Advanced Lasers, Antimatter-catalyzed Elerium Engines, Advanced ADC-FTL Drive
Hull Classes: Light Fighters, Heavy Fighters, Corvettes
-Research into Elerium engines is improved upon. New engines are produced with much more power and maneuverability. However, as larger amounts of Elerium are used, it proves to be more unstable and dangerous. Many deaths occur during experiments, mostly dude to explosions and some to a new side-effect of Elerium. Prolonged unprotected exposure to this substance produces damage to the brain, levels varying in exposure time. In some extreme cases physical effects such as boils, blisters, and rapid formation of cancerous tissue are noted. However, Elerium is put into Terran fighters, which makes them the fastest fighters in the galaxy.
-After spending a long coffee-filled night in one of the X-com laboratories, X-Com agent Jack Reyulant finally thinks he discovered the truth behind these nationalists. He believes that they are actually alien infiltrators from another world and that President Jackson is leading them. After convincing a group of soldiers and heavy police that were stationed to quell the nationalists riots (which are still going on in heavy force) that President Jackson is actually one of these infiltrators, they make for the Capitol building. After refusing to stop by orders of Capitol Building security, a firefight erupts between Reyulant's group and Security. After the security teams were killed, or otherwise incapacitated, Reyulant and his men storm the building. They kick down the door to President Jackson's office and Reyulant explains how he knows Jackson is an infiltrator. Before the utterly confused President has any time to respond, Reyulant places a rifle round through the president's head, creating quite gory mess. At this point, most of the police and soldiers that followed Reyulant realize that the President wasn't an alien, but a normal Terran. They turn on Reyulant and after beating the piss out of him, arrest him.
-After the whole fiasco at the Capitol Building, things mostly return to normal. President Owen is put back into power by overwhelming support, with people claiming that "This sort of thing would never have happened if Owen was in power!" Nationalist riots across the planet settle down, as a day of mourning is held for President Jackson. The Military responds well to Owen taking back over. However a couple ships in the 1st fleet wanted "revenge" for the death of Jackson. They were utterly destroyed by the rest of the fleet.
-X-Com begins research into what caused Reyulant's outburst, it is later reaveled that Reyulant had suffered from unprotected Elerium exposure, giving him a severe case of paranoid schizophrenia. Unable to continue leading X-Com, Reyulant is institutionalized and Owen puts Ulysses Sirius in charge of X-Com, with the help of Reyulant's son, Otto. Under the new leadership, X-Com rises in production, wealth and power considerably.
-Eric Walther, a young member of the Nationalist party becomes it's head after the death of Jackson.
-A new joke goes viral across the planet, its called "Pulling a Reyulant."
- The new government, under the command of Owen, implements a Tech Sharing Treaty between the Hyperkin and Vandurans. Mr. Owen apologizes for the nationalists reaction under the rule of Jackson, and looks forward to a healthy relationship in the future.
-The Hyperkin offer Hadar slaves to the Terrians, and wait a response.
-Expedition/Colonization parties are sent out to the planets/systems discovered. More scouting occurs in triangular formats from said triangle points from the first expedition. Another system is located to the left of the triangle, The system consists of a single star, that his pulled a large asteroid belt into it's orbit.
Artificially grown meat is made. Many complain of it tasting too much like the bottom of a boot.

Technology: Projectile Weapons, Fusion Engines, Low-Grade Lasers, basic FTL drives, Eroding Weapons, Radiation shielding, Advanced Beam Shielding, Strong Projectile Shielding, Inanimate Short-Range Teleportation
Hull Classes: Fighters, Corvettes, Frigates
-Grox scientists develop a way to break down matter into it's simplest form and instantaneously transport it to another area, effectively creating teleportation. However this proves to be just as stupid and dangerous as trying to head straight into the core of the galaxy. The teleporters are able to transfer non-organic matter the maximum range of 100m. When any test subjects were put through these teleporters, they would simply disappear. In many more cases, however, they would come out the other side, either turned inside out, or a puddle on the ground which appeared to look like a mix between fecal matter and semen. It is mainly used to transport materials at this point, as sending anything living through it is BATSHIT INSANE, OVERPAIN. (Wait on the teleportation. Vosk says.)
-After the accidents with the teleportation testing, no more Grox citizens are used as live test subjects.
-Taxes are increased on Grox, to help pay for the recent loss of ships in the core.
-The Grox continue to expand their ring around the core, discovering a new system closer to Yith. The system only has one planet orbiting the sun, But it is covered in clouds. The Grox fleet holds in orbit, waiting for a scouting party to arrive.
-An envoy is sent to Yith to ask for an alliance. When the ships land, they realize that the Yith have swapped minds with an extremely unintelligent race, Yith is basically undefended now, as the bodies of the Yith are now hosts to what appears to be the minds of dogs.
-Xorg gives an order to all the Grox fleets: "No fleet should near the core past Qua"s"Ada, or they will receive the death sentence." Every single Grox in the military is completely okay with this, and are quite happy that their BATSHIT INSANE SUICIDE MISSIONS ARE OVER.
TURN NOTES:
-We are no longer skimping on players choosing the contents of systems themselves.
-Vosk has decided that we are not going to allow for teleportation or any variation of it for now. It will be possible in the future.
-The Yith will be returning in the future. Grox.
-Vosk wrote the Grox and Terran turns so don't shoot me, guys.
-We're changing the way fleets work. You no longer produce fleets, you reinforce existing fleets with new ships. There will be ways to tell how powerful a fleet is on the map.
-Pew pew needlers pew carbon cystal shooters pew
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. That's Hyperkin science for ya
Me am going to brutally decapitate vosk with sharpened dragon dildo.
Okay so with teleportation off limits for the time being how does this affect my existing teleportation technologies and my blink-point drives? In a previous turn Vanduran scientists managed to teleport 30kg from Tambor to the Joint Space Station if I recall and I also remember having limited success in the preliminary testing of the Blink-Points from the Pluit Mortem in short range jumps, system to system.
READ THIS READ THIS READ THIS
Here's how things are going to work:
If you want a planet catalog, how that's going to work is that you are going to make sure that all of your systems are named and named properly. Copy the galaxy, crop it to your section of space, and name any systems in it.
THEN, go through the turns. You, yourself, will count the number of planets and record their contents in your systems. there are 8 turns- you'll fare fine. If it doesn't specify that, then say so. Name the planets if they aren't already.
Then, send that list to my PM.
After that, I will update existing catalogs when I can without you having to do anything else. If you have a pre-existing catalog as of now, then I will update yours automatically. Still, send in a PM with your systems named.
The sooner into the game you do this, the better.

Your blink-point drives will remain unaffected, because they're a form of drive and have a balance to them. Your teleportation of the 30kg is also fine- the Grox successfully teleported more than that. Organic teleportation is the issue.

The one is. It's just the icon, no label. It's right on top of the gas giant system. Because of reasons. That's the only one really worth anything. You know where the other systems are because of your fancy map.
Oh, alright. Didn't see it at first
So, really. I want to apologize to Star Toad and any other turns that didn't go the way you guys wanted. But me and Seed decide what planets you guys discover and any other life forms you might encounter. Making up everything that happens for your civilization takes the fun and mystery out of the game for you guys, as well for seed and me who are writing these turns.
Also, you should have gotten your hyperspace gates, buuut we aren’t allowing for teleportation things yet, I guess, even though I told someone (you?) that it was possible. This is my fault and I apologize.
Hyperspace gates aren't teleportation. They're static emplacements that use the same technology as my ships that have Hyperspace Drives but project it onto them.
Hyperspace drives work by creating a warp portal in front of a ship and then the ship flies into it and emerges at the exit coordinates. The Hyperspace Gates work on the same principle but the gates are linked and the entry/exit coordinates are always the same. This allows for vessels smaller than frigates to still use Hyperspace Jumps between known systems.
Oh. Right.
You'll get those next turn then, unless Vosk is okay with retconning your other tech.
Okay cool thanks.

Copy map
paste map
Select area of space you want to crop to
Edit> Crop, or Image>Crop
It's cropped.
Then using the text tool, type in the name of the system next to it. If you can hit the little boxes near the color selection (I think), you can get the text box to be transparent.

It's free.

No prereq, research more.

After you know what planets are there, it's all up to you at whatever pace you want. Big settlements or fancy construction takes more than one turn to complete, but yea, it's basically discover system in first turn, colonize or mine in second.
I want to join this but am on the fence, can you guys tell me how committed I will have to be (is missing a turn a huge deal?) and how far behind I would be from starting now when you guys already are established.
Starting now wouldn't be a huge deal, you wouldn't be too far behind. Tech advancements come at random and I, at least, tend to favor progressive random events that aid newer players.
Missing a turn now and then isn't a big deal, but you probably want to get every turn if you can. It shouldn't be hard, we have like one turn a week.

Felt like posting my race stuff here. I wanted to see what you guys might think of it.
Civilization Name: Duchies of Sorndena
Civilization make up: The Vokrun are a tall, bipedal race that are native to their jungle-like home planet, Sorndena. The average height of a Vokrun is estimated anywhere from 5'8" to 6'1" and they have also have a higher than average metabolism compared to the average human being, which for the record makes it quite rare to see a Vokrun that's actually obese. The skin tone of the species can vary; while some are known to be violet purple, others can take on a darkish tone of orange.
Full battle gear of an Vokrun soldier. With armor coloration and emblem varying depending on which faction they're fighting for.

Civilization beliefs: Before the Crimson War broke out, the Vokrun civilization was ruled by a heredity dictatorship. When the last ruler Maximilian José had died without a legal heir, there was much dispute over who his successor would be. As time went by, zealous pretenders came and went by the dozen. Eventually, the prolonged presence of anarchy led to the establishment of several dozen enclaves all whom waged bitter conflicts against one another, which later escalated to unfruitful civil war known only as the Crimson War. Currently, two vast duchies dominate Sorndena: The Verdunt and Saucon. Both are reasonably the same strength, and continuously fight at a exhaustible stalemate.
Warfare, technological advancements and everyday life were both heavily retarded (roughly equivalent of mid 20th century Earth) as results of the Crimson War. 75% of all urban areas have been reduced to nothing more than rubble, and now most of the civilization live in underground basements or wondering in groups as nomads.
