Because you're a GM and GMs are supposed to be impartial and you're being unprofessional.

Or maybe I started off doing quantum computers because I figured I could get the techs, in the first turn?
But then you guys misinterpret, and i'm like, okay, then we do it the next turn. Can't do it the next turn. Can't do it the turn after that either, and who said I researched nukes? I thought they were intercepting missiles.

New thingamabober in place: If your race is wiped out via concentrated nuking/bombing, you will be bombed back into the stone age. Tech becomes Sticks, Stones, and Loincloth, and your turn will consist of "Uughs" and "Ooghs" and everything in between. You can attempt to recover your race back to the space age, or simply stop playing.
So now the Grox are savage natives I can subjugate with lasers?
They're the opposite of natives, Ven. They could easily wipe out your entire military if they were still sane.
Not quite, but they are a force to be reckoned with.
It might even end up with some strong civilizations to team up to fight it, if it gets to that point.
Or I could just drop another couple of bombs on them and call it a day.
I like that plan better.
Oh, it's their special ability which will be revealed next turn. You'll realize it's not so simple as bombing them back to the stone age.
