I would imagine war would drain the market if it starts, or if a war is going badly. It might also be risen by stuff such as innovative products and mining.

It's percent of necessary. Since you are only one planet and not doing much, then your resources are at a comfortable level. If you use more resources than you take it, you get a lower value.

Market numbers are based off of the ability of your market to function. A higher level means that your market is healthy. A trans-civilization market will cause the number to lower because of the complications, as will having a large empire with notable transport distances. Improving transportation technology and stability will improve the market.
Colonies are literally colonies. It's colonies in your empire, and not systems or planets controlled.
Oh, I see, I thought it was quantity. What units are the others measured in?
