come to SKS, its pretty good the admins are cool, factions are actually powerful, micronations arent allowed (no one person factions, so factions will actually be powerful) and there is no map or teleportation, so factions will actually have a chance to grow in secrecy. me and the ATeam are being peaceful (for now), and there are plenty of formidable factions that would accept you. architecture is actually applied to the buildings, things look nice, and the server is just all around good.

I might try it tomorrow if I'm really lusting after a bit of buildy-buildy. Otherwise.. ffffuck, I crave more Earthcraft. >< Can't wait for that new server!

Really it's totally possible for you to generate the map as you go but keep the actual world look correct, and keep borders, while using minecraft's normal generation for caves and resources.

That was a great idea. In fact, I can't really properly criticize the way Dankie handled any of the serverside stuff - he had all of the right plugins (especially after he got rid of mob disguise) and, save for the ores, the map was stellar... I'll miss Earthcraft if, as people have been saying, it doesn't come back.

so, I can definitely host the "new and improved" earthcraft, assuming I am willing to pay out the ass each month for it, which I may try anyway, the question is if we still want an earth map, or a fresh normal terrain map (which really, isn't that bad) i'm not very minecraft-map savvy, so if anyone wants to assist me in getting hold of the earth-map and fixing the generator so to speak, add me on steam

I'm getting a lot of hate for what I did, it seems that it is in the best interest of the server population to tone down my admin use and instate rules that aren't vague. However, Earthcraft will be gone for a long time. I am 3000 miles away from my home computer and I'm taking a vacation in Serbia, it went down for some reason and I'm away from my pc to return it up. I'll be in Serbia for another 40 days so that is eta until the server is up. I realize I acted childish and pissed lots of regular members off, perhaps this time gone will allow me to rethink my behavior and chill out from the server for a while. While being away from minecraft and the server altogether I've thought and I realize I haven't been fair with many of you. After hosting servers for a long time and dealing with them on my own I've adopted a sort of "I don't give a fuck" attitude towards the playerbase and I should behave in a manner that makes them want to play here. I hope this vacation in my homeland will give me some time to get away from gaming and enjoy everything else I've been missing. I apologize to everybody for being a dick and acting unfairly. Playing minecraft all day and dealing with the server made me weary. When I come back, hopefully we can get a real earthcraft v2 and learn some better management. I also realize many will criticize me for apologizing right now, because it seems I am only apologizing to regain any players I've lost. I am apologizing because I'm generally sorry for the issues and the poor management of my server. I hope you can all forgive me. While it wasn't fair of me to behave like an asshole to you guys, I don't see the fairness in somebody taking all that I've worked for and taking money from you. I would sure appreciate donations, but that means I'd have to worry about a steady flow of cash every month to keep it up for all of you. A reason why I don't ask for donations is the lag does NOT come from the host, it's bugged plugins and errors from minecraft and bukkit that overload it.Especially since 1.3 comes out soon, there'll be more issues than ever with plugins needing updating, bukkit needing updating, etc. While he can promise you lag free earthcraft, it'll be long way there with configuration and especially map conversion and editing. It's simply infuriating to see all your hard work to be taken and then even be monetized by somebody else. What I would be okay with is the server is hosted for the time that I am gone, and then is returned back into my hands when I return. I would be more than happy to send all my configurations, user inventories, maps, buildings, etc to the host so he could avoid the hassle of doing it himself if he agrees to this. I honestly don't believe he could do it all from scratch, it took me 24+ hours for just the map.
