You were running a 20 man server on your home PC which consistently had massive latency spikes (Which you denied constantly), and then it shut down (And was going to stay down) for over a month because you were on vacation. And now you are claiming that Shakken's taking advantage of it because he's going to start a new server with the same rough idea so that we can still play? Were you seriously expecting people to wait over a month to play on your server 'because' it was run by you? Because it's not going to happen. Waiting for that long isn't that palatable to me at all, especially for a game which I only really got in to because a friend invited me to play on a server. Who knows? When you start up again people might come back, but until then earthcraft is dead, and no amount of whining is going to make us think otherwise.

It also had spikes of over 10 seconds of latency for 10-30 minutes at a time occasionally. During these times, you said "It's not the server, I'm connected via localhost and it's not lagging at all". You argued with us. After about 10 minutes of us complaining you wiped all intensive operations, killing off all farm animals we had stored with very little warning, and it still didn't resolve the lag until about about 5 minutes later it fixed itself, like it had without you wiping everything. I think that explains in no uncertain terms that it wasn't to do with plugins bugging, or memory leaks. It was your connection, and despite it being obvious you ignored that possibility. The timeline was server goes down after people complaining of you abusing admin -> about a day passes with the server not up once -> Shakken said he could try starting a server with the same kinds of ideas as Earthcraft, and got a lot of positive response, so began gathering money and looking at pricing -> another day or two passes, Shakken had gathered up the money and got everything together and began actually setting everything up -> you posted saying sorry for acting like a dick, it's down and won't be back until I get back from serbia in 40 days, when I get back I might start earthcraft v2, AND then you begin saying how it's not fair how shakken was asking for donations (Even though he was getting an actual server not just your desktop), again passing the buck on lag, and then saying Shakken was monetizing your ideas. "It's simply infuriating to see all your hard work to be taken and then even be monetized by somebody else. What I would be okay with is the server is hosted for the time that I am gone, and then is returned back into my hands when I return." isn't saying I can give you everything until I get back, it's basically a thinly veiled screw off. Let's move on and let this thread die until Earthcraft actually exists again.[/QUOTE] The cease of all intensive operations was a necessary action, if it fixes the lag it's the server being overloaded by players and entities, if it doesn't, then it is bukkit errors lagging it or internet connection. If it was my internet, a restart would NOT have fixed the lag. And I polled the server whether I should kill intensive action or not in attempt to resolve it, and most said yes, while a few said no. I went with the majority, and warned that your animals would die. Most were still okay with this, and went on. The lag was memory leaks and bukkit errors. I have access to the server console, every time we had a lag spike there was error spam in console, so it is definitively bukkit/MC bugging up. I did not argue or whine, I reminded players that the server was in Arizona and that they may just have a shitty connection. Doing server wipes and restarts without finding out if it is just the players would anger many. I did not ignore the net possibility, and I took it into consideration, and I have found that it was not the case. You are making wild assumptions, you don't know the amount of thought put into this issue. The timeline goes as so: I wrongly ban the zertopians, Shakken comes up with his own server, I go to serbia (earthcraft down for 40 days), I post about the frustration of having somebody use your 'recipe' and say sorry, Shakken takes offense to this and in a very smart ass way insults me, I then post that with just determination and not smarts his server won't succeed (I wasn't even insulting him THEN, I was simply saying that it was hard work and that I felt a little insulted that shakken acted a douche.), Me and shakken then proceed to flame one another (Because he insulted me FIRST, not because he was making his own server, our argument had very LITTLE to do with his new server). The copyright thing was a JOKE, I even threw in the 'my dad is a lawyer' part and STILL nobody got it. Groz was indeed finding lots of ores, but he ore generation was so fucked that It was pointless for me to do anything about it. Plus, i'm about 5000 miles away from my pc to do anything about it anyway. The ore issue will be fixed as soon as i can and groz will be banned. I'm pretty sure the fact that he flew away from me showed that you didn't moderate him properly after he admitted to x-raying. I'm pretty sure you were at your computer when it happened, and when he was wiped for x-raying.
