Funfact: A 1:1 scale map of the planet Earth would take up approximately 3.6 terabytes.
Funfact: A 1:1 scale map of the planet Earth would take up approximately 3.6 terabytes.
That's not as bad as I always imagined it to be
ZechsComes Why would I be banned though?
Not sure, let me check the ban list... [editline]3rd June 2012[/editline] You aren't banned, update your client then try again. Minecraft start>Options>Force Update>Login
What's your IGN? You may be banned. [editline]2nd June 2012[/editline] Do you want them to be?
Sure reset them, might be fun on the new map
Alright guys, a little update just to keep you interested: The terrain depth has been fixed The biomes will be in correct geographical positions (To my knowledge anyway) The ore placement will be fixed Mountains will be mountainous It will have the exact same size/layout of the previous V1 map No more random patches of swamp water in the oceans Easter eggs? ;) A way to obtain mycelium and the famous mushroom biome will be available Proper trees, different varieties. (Super tall jungle trees!) Antarctica is still a useless fucking wasteland. No more weird particle effects or unusually dark depths in caves anymore No need for a resource world No need for multiverse (the server will speed up subsequently) Now for general server changes: New spawns/DT zones (Might actually look nice instead of just bricks if someone wants to build them for me.) McMMO skills will be reset Items will be reset Factions will be reset Buildings will be reset (duh) EVERYTHING will be backed up (In case people bitch) New rules will be instituted Power cap will increase from 30 to 40 Power loss will increase subsequently And much much more.

If it wasn't for the flat map (Which I understand is getting fixed?) and the availability of /f home and /spawn (Dragons are alright), this would be my fave server. Just needs to be a little more player driven.
When will the map get uploaded to the server?
No resource world? it was a good place to start to get materials. now I gotta import everything from some 3rd world country.
New spawns/DT zones (Might actually look nice instead of just bricks if someone wants to build them for me.)
Sandpeople guys might be able to do that, maybe even make them different per country if you want.
besides, whats gonna happen to the world if 1.3 gets released? I assume you want to put emeralds in the ground. or make a resource world with an 1.3 map to get emeralds
besides, whats gonna happen to the world if 1.3 gets released? I assume you want to put emeralds in the ground. or make a resource world with an 1.3 map to get emeralds
There is no point unless he also adds villages.
Did a force update, nothing.
Just came to say, when I first used that dragon transport, I was soo surprised I choked on my cookie. Thank you for that!
I redownloaded a minecraft.jar and force updated it, and it works now.

I assume you want to put emeralds in the ground. or make a resource world with an 1.3 map to get emeralds
Well, the only chance I think Dankie would do is use sethbling's way to convert chest shops into villagers through MCEdit, so that we can use emeralds as a currency on the server. Also, it would be a cool way to get some items, like a blacksmith that only sells chain armor or something.
Emerald ore doesn't appear underground as of the latest snapshot anyway, so it doesn't matter that you can't get it.
Emerald ore doesn't appear underground as of the latest snapshot anyway, so it doesn't matter that you can't get it.
In the latest snapshot they spawn in extreme hills, in fact i found some while mining in SMP.
So I got on and stole 5-6 stacks of diamonds. I'm one happy camper, I'll tell you that much.
So I got on and stole 5-6 stacks of diamonds. I'm one happy camper, I'll tell you that much.
If you were able to steal them, the guy who got them probably cheated to get them.
Have these been implemented now, or are they upcoming?
I'm still implementing them. [editline]3rd June 2012[/editline]
No resource world? it was a good place to start to get materials. now I gotta import everything from some 3rd world country.
I'm fixing the existing world so it's ores actually are placed properly and in their correct veins. I can introduce some noise but I never saw the flatness of plains as a problem, does anyone else dislike this? Compare your server's map and a normal Minecraft map. I think you'll notice the difference.
Compare your server's map and a normal Minecraft map. I think you'll notice the difference.
Implying I haven't done so. Thanks for the witty reply, but I'm really just looking for something specific you would like to see me change.
So I kinda forgot where I put it... It's in the arctic somewhere, in a small cave hole thing near bedrock. The general area is near RiffRaff's claimed land at the arctic if anybody wants to go look for it.
I actually really dig the plains, I find normal minecraft maps to be a little cluster-fucky so it's nice to have things a little more chill and spread out. But variation with mountains, deserts, all that jazz...definitely important too.
What bulet was trying to say was there is really no huge hills or anything, everything is relativity flat. But now that the height limit is double, we can have much MUCH larger mountains and valleys. Everything was around sea level before give or take 5-10 blocks.
I can't wait for the new map.

I did increase the size of the mountains, but I saw no real large plains besides North America and Asia.
Sounds perfect to me, man.
