The patching system is terrible, they should just have one set of patches for the game, not 50.

I can't patch, it says that a anim file is corrupted or something, it's the first file I try to update, do I need patches prior to 1.8 to allow 1.8?
Yes, unfortunately. Retail > 1.5 > 1.8 > 1.14
But I downloaded it, not bought it from a store.
Depends on where you downloaded it from then. Some sites give you 1.05 some give you 1.04. It's all very confusing.

Afraid i couldn't help you with the CD key problem. The server is up always at the same time as The Bergenbuild (Edberg's gmod server) because they're hosted off of the same box. They're usually up 24/7 but sometimes problems may arise. I do believe it is currently online.

can i we get edberg or some admin to turn off Battle eye? its really annoying me...i can play fine for an half hour or so, then suddenly it'll tell me i'm losing connection and it'll kick me because Battle eye isn't responding...sometimes it happens right away, sometimes it happens in 15 minutes, its seemingly random :(.
I've been pestering him about it but he hasn't turned the thing off yet.
Problem is, the server kept crashing with it turned off before.

I can't get the pbo view to unpack the quarantine file, help please.
You can have PBO View set to open pbo files when you double click them. Just double click the PBO file and tell windows to open it with PBO View.
After that, hit the box with the green arrow coming out of it once the PBO has been opened. Should make a folder with the pbo's name containing all of it's contents.

me and demonlord, a fresh just joined member took off in our maiden voyage. As soon as i took off a AA gun nailed us and i started to leak fuel at an extreme rate. As the last fumes were consume i forced open the cargo container and DemonLord bailed out seconds before i did. Only i was too late. I smoked the ground with the Sleeping aircraft hot on my heels. Needless to say. I did not survive the encounter. DemonLord did though.
