Dragory and I doesn't agree with the map reset, but i have so powerfull admin tools, that i can easily remove every flying tree and pointless base.
But i do agree that we should check the mods what we're going to need in server.
And i agree with that, that our rules needs updating.
We should negotiate about those with every admin.
BTW: We will easily get new players if we advertise this server in MC.net and MC subforum.
[editline]27th March 2011[/editline]
We might need own forums too.
Sounds good, we'll finish expanding Skyline within our location and offer village spaces and houses to rent.

The great raid!

My politics:
Economy&Trade:
-We should get the Iconomy, but only way to get money is trade and banks, so not the payday thing.
-Every new player gets 10 coins or whatever.
-We should set up bank, where you can change redstone and gold to coins and vice versa.
-We should allow automatic shopboxes for players.
-And bartering should be still used.
-Players should have role/profession, like farmer (but not forced to do it all the time).
-Every proper city shoudl have own stockpile for items.
Factions&Settlements:
-We should allow new faction type: Company:
Comapanies are for intercity trade and other bussiness.
-Players should be engouraged to move in city, but not forced.
-Players could set up a proper faction if they instantly got 5-7 peoples to join it.
-Players can freely build farming villages and monasterys and small bases and also own houses to city outskirts without limit.
-Also it should be free to build inns and trading outposts to the mainroutes.
-We should set up cityrights system like:
When there is big enough settlement we could build there bank wich is the only way to get fresh coins.
And that banking system turns cities in to center of trade where people must go/visit if they want coins.
Transportation:
-Only the most largest cities should have rail line.
-We could set up shipsystem like in Deadchickens server (but no airships).
-Normal onground roads are the most common routes.
We need someone to develop faction mod with war system!

Would be good for guilds.
And there was an iShop plugin, better than that shop one you suggested Osku, I just can't find it.
And the bookcase one looks like one of the most pointless plugins ever...
I think the most important part of this is the map reset. You have to listen to the players, and the players want a clean start. I also think that rails of all kinds should be discouraged unless in mines, mostly because they're glitchy and don't match the RP nature.
Reasons for map reset:
1) No matter how powerful the tools, the map will still have that "used feeling". Players know the map has been tampered with, and many of the towns that have already been created, which lay abandoned, only reinforce the idea of needing to create your own faction. With a map reset, players will, instead of seeing remains and griefing, will see untouched land, and work together to build a town, because it will be their only option.
2) The locations and such of our map ruin the experience. You can tell from the start /give has been used. Things like the town at spawn, and the rail system all make the game seem too automated, and not medieval at all. If a map is reset, the players will see nothing but one town, or two, which will reinforce that idea of having to work together, especially when admins are not allowed to use /give at all.
3) Even players who have had a major impact on the server, people such as Robiteck, Chezhead, and I, all believe that even though we have spent a long time making this server fun, the only way to have the new rules system be positive, is to have a fresh new map. Mostly because a new map would be easier to manage.
4) The map is too spread out, and too many people have too many resources. Due to /give abuse, there is literally diamond everywhere, and with towns spread so thin, the only way to have things like iConomy work, is to have the map restricted to a smaller size.
I know many of you do not want to lose the hard work, but I assure you Osku, almost every player there is willing to give up what they have worked for to make sure the server stays alive and gets better. Listen to the players, they are our lifeblood.
That sign shop works with my banking idea.
Just saying bookcase plugin is worthless, should be replaced with a book writing plugin if we can find one.
That's exactly what it is, but why the hell will people want to write books.... in Minecraft?
...Ok I just thought of hiding passwords in riddles within books... but that's it! I can't think of any other use!
[editline]27th March 2011[/editline]
Also, I vote for reset too, I always like a fresh start, and if we (the admins) are put on a leash, build-wise, we might actually get somewhere with it.

It's the RP sense, being able to write journals with clues, or books with news, propaganda, myths, legends, recipes, love letters.
Couldn't we make an official vote for the map reset?
Couldn't we make an official vote for the map reset?
No because the admins don't really care if we're having fun.
I believe that most agree we need it, but it wouldn't hurt.
No because the admins don't really care if we're having fun.
I think you don't care if the other players are having fun.
I'd love to be able to write in a minecraft book. It would make sense to sell book cases or just books. Write a short story, then sell it. Or sell plain paper! :v:
I think you should be able to place paper on the ground like snow is a layer on top of whatever. But the paper should be a decal like redstone dust

I think that neither of us really care and that one or more is simply arguing arbitrary out of boredom.
-snip-
Sure, but admin dungeons and hidden treasures are my job as well as any other admin, not just yours. Deadchicken and I make the lore and dungeons for others to run though, and the first was a complete success, as many people said.
Apocalypse soon, fellow stalker!
If the map is reset, I'm officially ending my player carrier and simply making lore and ruins for people to find on far reaches of the map. That's what I enjoy the most, and would be willing to dedicate my entire time on the server to.
I would love a book mod, it would really help with the lore.
To sum it up, I love the proposed rules by lorborn other than one:
Only Loriborn may place Admin Dungeons, hidden treasures, and such. This allows for no duplicates, treasures that are nearby, and/or that this
locations adhere to the lore of the server.
You aren't the leader of the server in any regard, and all mods other than Osku and Dragory are equal. We could all make things, but I would be willing to dedicate my full time on the server to making lore and such, instead of actually playing in towns other than a story element or NPC of sorts.
Also Chez get me on steam you male yeast infection.
Okay gents, one last vote! Everyone wants the new rules and map, except Osku and Dragory! (boo on them) So they want a proper vote!
If you are willing, or wanting of a new map and server rules with real RP and war, rate AGREE or WINNER.
If you do not want to change the map at all, and leave it the way it is, with no war and abandoned towns, rate DUMB or DISAGREE.

I will only endorse the new rules and map if I can be the lore-builder. I wouldn't make any factions, steal any items, but simply make lore, be a boss for a dungeon, and set up events. Sorta like the Dungeon Master in tabletop RPGs.
When I say ruins and dungeons, I mean that I would find a secluded place in the map, make a small mossy tower or ruin, and put a small amount of treasure in it, or possibly a dungeon underneath with monster spawners (Deadchicken got those working) and treasure.
Bigger ruins with bosses would be made for the treasure hunting guild.
By the way, could a /nick function be added so I can be a more realistic boss?
I just want the map so I can keep working on my house :saddowns:

/nicknames will be added, and you may do this, as long as at least three admins approve of a specific dungeon or location when you want to make one.

I think the Admin group is willing to post the save right before the tunnel was clogged up.

I like it, I think all admins should be involved in establishing stories for areas, and such... and adding it to the wiki etc.
And I'd love to see more interesting dungeons with mobs and such... Would be fun, to have chez being the DM.
Chez, rate me agree, you may be the DM, but we will work alongside you since admins will be behind the scenes only.
Me and dragory are now planning the new rules and reading the suggested rules.
Also we already have the new map, but server isn't running yet.

Please don't add or do anything to the server at all. And I believe most of my rules work, at least the ones about murder, theft, war, and general. Economy is flawed though.
[editline]27th March 2011[/editline]
For this to work, the server itself needs to be untouched, fully fresh.

Again, for the love of all things holy, don't add or change anything to the map at all, or this will all be pointless.
I had to admit I slightly abused /wand :v:
Giant brick tower ftw

Can I be lead DM? I would need you, the admin's approval in order to do this.
Basically, what I would do is make random ruins around the map, as well as create the lore for the general thing. I would also create events and areas for different guilds, as well as possible quests. when /nick is added, I could change my name to things in order to be a boss in a dungeon, or a type of NPC.
All I would need is full access to the //wand commands, the ability to add monster spawners, some /tp things to get to job sites, and /give commands for treasures, materials, and such. I wouldn't be part of any faction, so you wouldn't have to worry about me giving myself diamonds, other than to make myself a boss for a dungeon.

That's too much power, I think that there should be some regulations against it. Such as having Dead and I oversee and help to make sure it is fine the way it is. Also, there shouldn't be more than 2 dungeons we start, since each one should be well made and long.

Dead would of course advise me and watch over me, as I was known for being a bit overboard with traps in Base Alpha... I think that Dead and I could make a good dungeon, with each other's discrepancy in mind.
