The Darkest Hour: Summer 1939 Germany: -German HQ prepares for war, an escalation of arms occurs inside of Germany as armies prepare for the attack on Poland. AUGUST: -All German armies are mobilized and moved to the border of Poland in preparation for the invasion of Poland. Though the original invasion plan was for August 26th, Hitler is forced to push it back to September 1st when the armies are in "mid-leap". All forces are stopped successfully except one, in the night of 25–6 of August, a German sabotage group which had not heard anything about a delay of the invasion makes an attack on the Jablunkov Pass and Mosty railway station in Silesia. On the morning of 26 August, this group is repelled by Polish troops. The German side describes all this as an incident "caused by an insane individual". General Kurt Daluege (Liem): 4th German Army - General Kurt Daluege, a son of a Prussian state official, was born in small Upper Silesian town Kreuzburg (now Kluczbork) on September 15, 1897. He entered the Imperial German Army in 1916 and served with the 7.Garde Regiment West. During his service on the Western Front Daluege was severely wounded a number of times (declared 25% disabled) and also decorated for bravery. -In preparation for the invasion of Poland, Daluege pushes his men of the 4th German even harder, this improves morale greatly as well as increasing skill slightly. -A request for more soldiers is denied by the HQ. General Franz-Walther Lindner (MountainWatcher) 2nd German Army -General Franz-Walther Lindner was born and raised in Berlin. Lindner's parents died during the 20s.As a result the orphaned boy lived a life of squalor and petty crime. Through Hitler Youth he managed to get away from that life. When he turned eighteen he joined the ranks of the Wehrmacht and rapidly rose in the ranks to become the youngest general of the military at the age of 22. Now 23, the former troublemaker now leads an elite army of 1,500 men. - The army gears up for war like all the other armies. France: -The French HQ begin arming the border in preparation for a possible invasion from Germany. The French government promises Poland that they will do their best to preserve the Polish government. AUGUST: -French forces are trained quickly and moved to the border. General Daniel Theriault (Stethor) - 7th French Army -Theriault rose to be commander of the 7th French Army after earning one of the highest honors for his services as a captain in World War One, Specifcally for his involvement in the Battle of Verdun. Therefore he has a great mistrust of the Germans and believes that the Germans will attack through Belgium once again and has constantly expressed his concern over the Maginot Line and the fact it does not cover belgium which he has been reprimanded before for speaking out to his superiors. However they keep him around due to the fact he is well versed in Military Theory, passing near the top of his class, and believes firmly in the ideas of attacking the enemy as soon as possible for a decisive encounter. The 7th Army is made up of several infantry divisions, Artillary and Cavalry and One/Two Tanks. -Theriault again pesters the HQ about the flank that is not protected by the Maginot Line. He is again ignored. -All other preparations go normally. General Jacques Adrien (TheSporeGA) - 27th Elite Mechanized French Infantry -After a privaleged upbringing in the early 1900s, Jacques joins the French army just a year before World War I would begin. Caught in the terrifying trenches of the Western Front, Adrien is wounded multiple times, all being superficial. The experience gained from this catapults him to the rank of General by 1939. -The 373 man elite army is based in Poland and has been tasked with helping defend Poland at all costs. Japan: -The Japanese HQ continues its assault on China, the Battle of Nanchang is fought and won in March. While the Battle of Nanchang is won the same cannot said at Changsha and Guangxi, in which the Imperal Japanese Army is soundly defeated. AUGUST: -The war continues in China although not much occurs elsewhere. Admiral Nyagato Isamu-kun (Dr. Insy) - Commander of 2nd Naval Fleet. -A fleet is provided to Isamu-kun, a single carrier along with two battleships and four destroyers. -A letter is sent to Generaloberst Franz-Walther Lindner. The two friends have kept in contact since 1937 when they met by chance in Rome. The letter warmly asks how Lindner is doing. Soviet Union: -Preparations are made to assist in the invasion of Poland. All armies are mobilized and placed along the border of Poland. AUGUST: -A non-agression pact is signed with Germany on the 23rd. General Leonid Yefim (Sunny Dei) - 7th Soviet Guards Army (Currently the 64th Army) -General Yefim is given to role of commander of the 64th Army and is directed to prepare his troops for the upcoming invasion of Poland. -Preparations go normally and smoothly. The world is on the brink of all-out total war. The future of Europe and Asia is in the balance. Music
So Where are we exactly?
So Where are we exactly?
We're about to enter the fall of 1939. On the 1st of September the war begins.
Auf Wiedersehen, Poland.
No need for the Insy or Stethor to send in turns this time, this next turn simply outlines the beginning of the invasion of Poland.
No need for the Insy or Stethor to send in turns this time, this next turn simply outlines the beginning of the invasion of Poland.
Can I still send turns writing more [del]love[/del] letters to Franz-Walther-chan?
Do I really need to send in a turn? I mean can I just do the same thing
No
oh, I forgot, GERMANY NEVER REPEATS IT SELF.
Also, oh wow, no one on the air force?
Air force is boring.
Do I really need to send in a turn? I mean can I just do the same thing
You'll need to outline your invasion, we'll get in depth next turn. Eli is making a map that shows your armies' locations. [editline]10th May 2012[/editline]
Can I still send turns writing more [del]love[/del] letters to Franz-Walther-chan?
I'd prefer you wait until the next "turn" if you can call it that occurs.
Full Europe map [t]http://i.imgur.com/6QVmp.png[/t] Closer up map to see armies [t]http://i.imgur.com/Bn2Ti.png[/t] Completely Full map Huge Note that areas outside of Europe are the default E&R map
Tapping into the Military Strategy stored in my brain, Finally all those years of reading about WW2 instead of doing homework paid off [editline]10th May 2012[/editline] Other Generals for the glorious Nazi empire, For the glory of the Furheur, WE MUST TAKE POLAND
The Fur Herr will stand tall
Okay so when I do the maps the squares will represent armies with the leaders name beside it ,and the pluses crosses whatever you want to call it will represent battles fought this turn.
This will end well [sp]For Germany[/sp]
Hell nah, I'll fuck you Germans up.
is it already a war crime or can I rape every woman in sight?
