[U][B]The Darkest Hour: Spring 1940[/B] [/U]
[B]Summary[/B] (Take a deep breath):
The "Phony War" began and ended with the German invasion of neighboring states - Poland first, in September 1939, and then Denmark and Norway in April 1940. Here, the similarity ended. Germany invaded Scandinavia in 1940 due to Germany's naval war against the British and their American suppliers, and to protect the winter route for iron from Sweden. And unlike the invasion of Poland, the attacks on Denmark and Norway launched a permanent state of fighting in Europe that lasted right down to the German defeat in May 1945 (of course, this can be changed).
The brief northern campaign was one of the most successful of Hitler's gambles. On April 9, German forces entered Denmark and occupied the peninsula without serious resistance. A seaborne and airborne force, covered by a German air screen, then invaded Norway. Despite stubborn Norwegian resistance, and the landing of British and French troops in support in northern Norway, the Norwegian government agreed to armistice on June 9. However, many German warships were sunk or damaged during this operation.
We now begin in May, the invasion of France will now commence, the true war begins here.
From here on out I will be doing turns based on significant battles, the timeframe for France will most likely be week by week depending on the ability of the defenders/attackers.

[I]April 9[/I] - Germany attacks Norway and Denmark on the pretext that occupation is necessary to preserver their neutrality. Norwegian Fascist leader Vidkun Quisling quickly moves to create a pro-Nazi government. As a result, his surname will become synonymous with 'traitor'.
[I]April 10[/I] - In what may have been the shortest portion of the war, Denmark surrenders to Germany on the 10th, just a day after the initial invasion.
[I]April 27[/I] - SS Reichsfuhrer Heinrich Himmler orders the construction of a concentration camp in Oswiecim, Poland. Known as Auschwitz, the facility will play a central role in the Nazi plan to exterminate the European Jewish population.
The Reich issues an official declaration of war against neutral Norway.
[I]April 30[/I] - The Nazis establish a Jewish ghetto in Lodz, Poland.
Hitler warns his general to be prepared to invade Western Europe within 24 hours of receiving his orders on any date after May 5.
[I]May 10[/I] - Asserting that the Allies are planning to use neutral nations Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands as a staging area for an attack on Germany, Hitler invades the Low Countries.
[B]General Franz-Walther Lindner - 2nd German Army[/B] [I](MountainWatcher)[/I]
-In what may be regarded as his most sickening set of acts yet, Franz orders that all firearm training be done firing upon Jewish subjects, if said subjects can escape they will be awarded freedom. Let it be noted that only one has escaped, he was not granted freedom. Yet another act is the ordering of the creation of "anime girls", Polish women of all ages are rounded up and have their noses cut off, the skin around their eyes is shaved off, their lips are cut off, and they are painted in colors that suit what would be seen in a Japanese Manga book. Pictures of these women are sent to the Japanese admiral. The prettiest of the girls is reserved for Franz, she is regularly raped and tortured by Franz, no other person is to touch her, only Franz.
-The torture fest finally ends when the troops are ordered into movement and is moved across the Meuse River and ordered to attack the city of Sedan.
[B]General Kurt Daleuge - 4th German Army[/B] [I](Liem)[/I]
-The invasion of France begins for Kurt, his men enter Belgium and engage in the Battle of Hannut. Soldiers regularly rape innocent civilians and follow the rape up with murder.
-Kurt records a new song that quickly becomes famous, it's name? "Only in Japan".
[B]General Erich Hoepner - 4th Panzer Army [/B][I](Scrappa)[/I]
-Along with the other armies, the 4th Panzer Army is moved across the French border, they never engage in combat.

-The soldiers are given a few mroe days off to do whatever, whether it be staying with their family, getting drunk, raping and pillaging the local women, etc...
-HQ is asked again for orders, HQ again responds with jack shit.
-General Lindner is thanked for his...odd assortment of pictures. He is asked to spread the word about the production of the hentai. The letter is ended with "xoxo Isamu-chan". Along with the letter is another shipment of hentai.
