-A binary star system in a nebula to the northeast is explored. A new element, Plasma (not to be confused with the fourth state of matter), is found. It has several unique properties, including a very high flammability, which have various applications in industry and war. Space Station 3 is constructed there to mine and research it immediately.
-Current stations are expanded, giving more room for more crew members.
-Said room is soon filled by new recruits joining after an ad campaign gets people to join the corporation.
-Security officers are reviewed again, with extra training for those who need it and job offers for military work for the already robust.
-Lasers, based on those used for mining, are developed for use as weapons on ships down to rifles and pistols. They boast no recoil, sound, and travel at the speed of light, but have troubles with overheating, and beams become unfocused at long ranges within atmospheres.

-Two Venusian worlds are discovered to the north, and are quickly designated mining sites. Raw materials are sent to other world for processing.
-Using research from the terran world, the Slithil discover the power of bio-engineering, which allows them to mess around with the DNA of various life forms and create their own.
-Probes sent out reveal a potential new element to the northeast. To the west, probes seem to invariably go silent. Black boxes recovered from the probes reveal signs of attack. This, coupled with recent galactic events (see below) call for a manned expedition to find out just whats out there.

-The fleet is sent south east, with no particular destination. Unknowingly, they will catch sight of the Trantimir fleet in the middle of next year who coincidentally sent a fleet in their general direction.
-A new system is colonized, and mining operations commence on the planets and asteroids.
-All current ship hulls are reinforced with newer armors capable of taking more missile hits than before. They are still vulnerable to lasers however.
-A new policy is put into place. All males fit for military service are conscripted for a minimum of 1 year in peacetime and indefinite in times of war. With no current enemies, nobody complains.

-Another system is colonized by the expedition, and one more by the homeworld.
-All planets are given their own local governments, which ultimately answer to the homeworld.
-A new food by a private company catches popularity. It is a food bar similar to a granola bar, but a somewhat larger and contains a high amount of nutritional value. It becomes adopted as the standard food for the military.
-Criminals are sent to work in the mines, with relatively good living conditions but long and laborious hours. Grox sentenced to mining are implanted with explosive implants that detonate should there be an uprising or the planet is raided. After 30 years, buying ones freedom is possible.
-The Groxnet quickly grows, and is now a major source of entertainment and information. A secure branch is developed for Military use.
-Dropable factories are tested and approved for use in quickly industrializing a planet.

Notable galactic events:
-The source of all the confusion has been pinpointed to a cluster of red stars west of the Core. Signs point to a undiscovered civilization, perhaps capable of FTL.
