Sent. It would be too difficult to just take Denmark and transition to an ideology that doesn't exactly exist, so I'm going the route of revolt.
Seed Eater you already control Denmark, you don't need to overthrow it silly.
Seed Eater you already control Denmark, you don't need to overthrow it silly.
But but but I just said that it would be easier to try a revolt than it would be to reform the existing state.
Last time I tried reforming a state, I failed massively.

Hey, 1848 almost had some major changes. I see no reason why I can't highjack the coming bourgeois revolution of 1848 in Denmark.
Have a fixed map.

Also, if anyone's interested, I'm planning on pushing out the Metro 2033 RP very soon. I recommend you play it. It will be kind of a mix between the E&R style and a sci-fi type deal not dissimilar to GaW.

Not really, it will contain elements from the game but nothing that should spoil major plot details.

Btw.
When people do policies like "encourage industrialization" these aren't really helping.
You should provide specific actions to take, which you then hope will induce this effect.
im leaving this RP sorry peeps

Satansick – Centralist Republic of Mexico
Military dictatorship
Economic status: Severe negative expansion
-The Mexican army introduces a scorched earth policy as the American and British armies march on Mexico. A cavalry force manages to capture Houston and temporarily takes it, before the Texan government goes into exile in the United States. The arrival of the American army, followed results in the army being forced to pull back however, but not before the town is set ablaze.
-The army pulls back to Arizona, where they begin to adopt camouflaged uniforms for the soldiers. Conservatism in the army, and expense of producing the uniforms, means that they are of limited use for the time being. Rifles, breech-loading firearms, and some breech-loading artillery are brought up into Arizona to help in an engagement with the British.
-The British are denounced, and a draft is introduced to help bolster the army. Families affected by the loss of labour on their farms are given monetary compensation. Immigration from Asia is a big problem due to the British blockade.
-The Mexican exchequer is forced to borrow more money from French creditors, and to print money to cover shortfalls.
-The British and Americans are painted as evil monsters by propaganda, and told to be inferior people. Oddly enough, these inferior people seem to hold a good part of the country.
-Breech-loading artillery is being slowly constructed at some considerable expense in Mexican cannon foundries. The problem of sealing the gap (inherent to breech-loading weapons) is a niggling problem with mass production.
-The prices of many staple goods begin to rise due to inflation, as the British blockade becomes tighter.
-The French pull out of Mexico, and quite soon, the Mexican army starts to collapse, retreating south. The USA and Britain now occupy a great deal of the country.

Mr Face – North German Federation
Prussian constitutional monarchy
Economic status: Positive expansion
-As the German nation gradually is nailed together with iron and law, policies being enacted in Berlin are being increasingly adopted by other members of Germany.
-The Kingdom declares war on Mexico, and sends 20,000 men to assist the United States and the United Kingdom. They land in California and Texas, and assist in repulsing the Mexicans.
-The Kaiser thanks the anonymous person who sent them a Thai prostitute. He then screws her vigorously. The next day, this is leaked to the press and the public goes up in arms.
-The Kaiser states that the peace of Europe as a whole will be ensured with the unification of Germany. He asks all the powers of Europe to join a defensive pact once this goal is achieved.
-The newspapers (after publicising the prostitute case), proudly proclaim that the Prussian state convinced the French to leave the Americas.
-Egypt is now formally recognised as an independent state, with an embassy established in Berlin.
-The smaller German states begin to borrow loans from the Prussian exchequer. With low interest rates, they use the loans to invest into various projects, mostly infrastructure and military reform.
-The plant pots of Venezuela are dearly missed by the Kaiser.
-Attempts to export food to Britain go poorly due to the restrictive tariff polices used by Britain, which favour domestic producers over foreign ones.
-Firearms and artillery begins to be shipped to the United States in return for financial services. Much of this money is later lent to the German states.
-The act passed last year is now being enforced steadily. All other states in Germany pass similar legislation, and work towards integration of the telegraph network as a whole. Standardized railway gauges are still nonexistent however.
-A metropolitan policing force now exists in every urban area in the country. The first ones are being established in other German states in wake of pressure by the Kaiser.
-Law reform has been established, setting maximum working hours at 10 per day. This is a great victory for most political groups minus the Laissez Faire adherents. Children and women still work in many industries however, and the law is loosely enforced (it does not count the time taken to travel into and out of mines for instance).
-The first vulcanized rubber samples are shown at a public display in a meeting at the University of Berlin, where various chemists comment on its potential applications.
-Despite all this legal reform going on, most departments to manage these affairs are small, overworked, and have few inspectors. Numerous loopholes exist too, and support for further reform is somewhat lacking.
-A committee of Germans from Schesweig Holstein appeals for assistance in attaining independence.

Firefox42 – United States of America
Constitutional Republic
Economic status: Stagnant
-The*Supreme Court of the United States*rules in the case that the*Africans*who seized control of the ship Amistad had been taken into*slavery*illegally.
-The Texan government applies for statehood if their country is to be reclaimed in the war with Mexico.
-Orders for the construction of large numbers of ships are now underway, with paddle steamers and the traditional sailing ships being commissioned in most shipyards. The demand for materials to build and maintain these ships have gone up, stimulating related industries and helping the economy to start recovering. However, debts and inflation are starting to creep up.
-Blockade runners operate and trade with Canada is still going to a degree, but the French navy lifts the blockade this year.
-Development of a battery using acid and lead is now underway. However, unvulcanized rubber is shown to be poor in its construction, making the battery of little use.
-The economy starts to recover, with the lifting of the blockade and heavy investment into the navy.

Ruskie – Kingdom of Egypt
Absolute monarchy
Economic status: Positive expansion
-The Egyptian army makes a march on Ankara, and the collapsing Ottoman army offers little resistance. By the end of the year, Constantinople is in range of Egyptian guns.
-The new Kingdom is now definitely seen as a major power within the Middle East, and is quickly dismantling the old Ottoman Empire. Unrest is starting to rise in many of the conquered places, who have awoken to an unpleasant surprise.
-Most government construction projects are left to stand ignored as the war proceeds. The economy is also generally left as a “laissez faire” affair, but some government ministers are looking into the idea of potential regulation. Many children as young as 4 work in some industries, and for as long as 16 hours a day. As their increasing numbers shows, there are a lot of problems associated with industrial and economic development. Regulation of individual businesses would be helpful in avoiding many problems that the British presently suffer from.
-The Ottoman Empire sues for peace.

Daniel Smith – The United Kingdom of the British Isles
Constitutional Monarchy
Economic status: Stagnant
-With support from Prussia, the British makes a strong push into Mexico from California.
-Military engagement with France comes to an effective end, including naval conflict. A formal peace treaty has yet to be signed however.
-The economy begins to recover in wake of recent legislation and the lifting of embargoes.
-The army starts to gradually press in on the uprisings in India, and are slowly restoring order. Reform of the administration there however, would seem to be wise.
-The corn laws are repealed, much to the happiness of the laissez faire economists. The price of food staples begins to gradually drop, and landowners start to invest into their land so as to remain competitive. The corn law league then reforms into the Free Trade League, seeking to establish free trade. After tariff and agricultural policies are changed somewhat in Russia, lots of Russian food starts to be imported.
-British farmers start to report a decline in profits, and some figure its time to sell off their land to the more competitive farmers. Others decide a switch to pasture is wiser.
-A diplomat is sent to Belgium and the Netherlands, asking if they would wish to join in a union. They both refuse.
-An act of parliament is passed, establishing (legal) equality for Catholics with Protestants. It is seen as a great success for the Irish. A repeal organisation (wishing to repeal the 1801 Union act) is then established by some Irishmen, wishing for greater autonomy. The tories are bitter already, and promise to block government legislation if the 1801 act is repealed.
-Mercerised cotton is introduced, although the process isn't very popular. The sewing machine is also being slowly introduced, although early models are clumsy and slow.
-A diplomat is sent to Egypt to ask for permission to construct the Suez canal. The ambassador is told he needs to find out about the current plans of Muhammed Ali.
-Profits from Asian trade start to take a hit with the banning of opium by the Rattanakosin Kingdom.

HeavyGuy – Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
Constitutional Republic
Economic status: Stagnant
-Venezuela plants its newly created landmines in certain areas near their borders in the wake of possible attack by Peru-Bolivia. This is later confirmed to be impossible, for Venezuela does not border Peru-Bolivia.
-Colombia is asked to join in a union with Venezuela, and they refuse, seeing no advantages.
-A day for celebrating Venezuelan independence from Gran Colombia is held. This doesn't assist in union talks.
-With the landmine project finished, research and money goes into creating a new standard firearm for the Venezuelan army. Using percussion caps and a breech-loading mechanism (but no rifling), it shows a considerable improvement in rate of fire, if at the cost of reliability (due to damage suffered by the closing mechanism) and accuracy (due to poor rifling).
-Little economic development happens, minus that of the firearms industry, in order to provide all these new weapons.

Obnobs – Swedish-Norwegian Republic
Constitutional Monarchy
Economic status: Positive expansion
-Education is no longer required for Children if they have a full-time job, and with this, the schools quite quickly empty again. Many parents wish to see their children work in order to provide money for the family.
-Tax deductions are implemented for businesses who trade with the government of Denmark, helping to improve relations and trade between the two countries.
-Weapons are also sold with no tariffs to the Danish government, alongside allowing the Danes to lease land in Sweden for potential future use. This future use is still unclear however.
-New tactics are introduced for use by the military, whereby soldiers receive different training depending upon if they are going to be engaged in urban or rural settings.
-A draft is made, lottery style, for men ages 16-20, with the draft being unpopular among the lower classes, whom it targets the most.
-Industrial goods begin to be imported from Germany and Britain once more as blockades are slowly lifted.

Thelurker1234 – The Russian Empire
Prussian Constitutional Monarchy
Economic status: Large positive expansion.
-Conquest of the steppe nations are “completed” this year, although administration of these new territories are awful. Poor communications and a hostile population means this area will be troublesome for years.
-New rifles are introduced for military use, with a firearms factory established for the production of these new needle guns.
-Madagascar is embargoed. I don't know why.
-With the repeal of the British corn laws, the Russian Empire decides to eliminate tariffs on the export of food to Britain. Slowly, the profits start coming in and the price of food in Britain slowly drops.
-Subsidies given towards agricultural development encourage this as well. Development of existing farmland is difficult however, due to conservatism among landowners/farmers and poor property laws.
-Chemists are granted subsidies, hoping to expand production of antiseptics, anaesthetics, vaccines, and general medicines.
-Gradual reform is carried out of education and infrastructure, which loosens restrictions mainly on the building of new railways and schoolbuildings. Many landowners and peasants are fiercely opposed to these new locomotives, claiming it poisons the ground and air. Acquiring land for the new lines is difficult, and many are unprofitable save for industrial areas.
-Military advisers are sent to Pakistan to help them reorganise the army for conflict with Persia. Fortunately, the offensive stalls, allowing the army to fall back and then ready itself for later conflict. The lack of good weapons or manpower however, pretty much restricts their options.
-The Tsar calls together a meeting of many European nations to discuss the future of the Ottoman empire, and see what Europe thinks should be done to bring stability to the middle east and the Balkans (hey this means all you reading, get into a steam chat or something).
-Noticing the problem of people being tied to the land, the laws on serfdom are revised to more or less effectively abolish them. However, existing social institutions in place are difficult to remove or modify, and no major reorganisation of land or movement of people takes place. Some point to the British enclosure system as a way forward.
-Heavy spending by the Russian government has gotten things going, but it's starting to rack up some considerable debts in the process too.

MountainWatcher – Rattanakosin Kingdom
Absolute Monarchy
Economic status: Positive expansion
-The remaining land in Eastern Borneo is finally colonized. To keep soldiers who maintain order happy, some Thai geishas are sent.
-Mandatory education is introduced for every Thai male aged 5. However, what this education consists of, and for how long, has yet to be established.
-An ambassador is sent to Britain, France, Prussia, the Netherlands, Spain and Egypt. They are accompanied by geishas, some of whom make good friends with politicians from those respective countries.
-The kingdom takes advantage of the inability of Europe to export goods, and temporarily ramps up production to help export manufactured goods (such as textiles, iron and pottery). The return of European merchants puts an end to this mini boom.
-A law legislating a minimum wage is established, which establishes that enough money should be made per day to pay for a certain weight of food.
-A lottery is begun, where every two weeks, ¾ of the money raised are given to any winners. The rest becomes a handsome source of money.
-Opium is banned, with British merchants barred from selling their goods. It comes due to fears that opium is indirectly causing great harm to the Thais or Thai people. The British merchants are quite angry.
-Books on economics by Adam Smith, David Ricardo and Thomas Malthus are imported. One idea that is quickly adopted, is the division of labour (whereby a task is broken down into a series of smaller tasks to be carried out by multiple people).

Chernobyl426 – Persia
Absolute monarchy
Economic status: Stagnant
-The invasion is temporarily halted, with plans drawn up to help reorganise the army, so as to prepare for the big push.
-Territorial and economic rights are demanded from the Indian states to the east of Persia. They ask what these rights even are, and what's in it for them.
-Tariffs are raised on foreign retailers, so as to help protect existing Persian ones. Policies are also enacted to help improve infrastructure, although its dubious as to them actually having any affect at all.
-People are offered a free education if they join the military. Surprisingly, this does not really increase recruit numbers, but it does at least start to help teach recruits the three r's.
-A military staff and headquarters is established, so as to hopefully turn army organisation into a professional affair.

Damian0358 – The Czech Kingdom
Substate of Danubian Federation
Economic status: Positive expansion
-Foreign support is sent to Bosnia, Herzegovina and Montenegro, where they work alongside Serbians to help liberate the Balkans from Ottoman rule.
-Serbia is told to form an alliance with Greece, Wallachia and Moldavia (those two now Romania). They agree to nominal relations, although keeping all these countries relatively appeased is difficult.
-The Balkan states create a map showing the Balkans after the war, which pretty much cripples Ottoman holdings in Europe. (The map is essentially this turns map)
-Despite Czech intervention, the Balkan countries quite quickly agree on favourable peace treaties by themselves, crippling the Ottoman Empire. Serbia and Greece however, are unable to fully agree on where the borders should be set. Bulgarian representatives argue that Serbia and Greece should partition it for now, but neither side (nor the residents of these occupied lands) is happy.
-Many of the intelligentsia come back, saying how much of a great time they had and how the other Slavs are fast learners, with the Croatian state creating its own army, allowing it to be used by the Austrian and Czech kingdoms as thanks.
-Some diplomats are sent to the Hungarian and the Wallachian state to help educate the people in those states in the fields of military theory and diplomacy.
-Food, weapons and other supplies are sent to Serbia, Greece, Wallachia, Egypt and Moldavia, to help them in their fight against the Ottoman Empire.
-The drinking limit law has been removed, as it was useless. Bottoms up!
-A new bolt action rifle is being developed, based upon the Gewehr 98. (which just raises further questions). Nonetheless, an early bolt-action rifle is eventually built.
-With the creation of the Danubian confederation, the name of the Kingdom is changed alongside the flag to reflect this. The Kingdom of Bohemia-Moravia gains Czech Silesia and becomes the Czech State of the Danubian Federation.

Salricci – Danubian Federation
Absolute Monarchy
Economic status: Positive expansion
-The Ottoman Sultan is told to stop the war with Egypt before it collapses. He then sends a letter telling him he sent it to the wrong ruler. Egypt is the aggressor by this stage, and not the Ottomans.
-Tariffs are now set to a tit-for-tat policy (tariffs shall be equal to the tariffs of other countries). Given that free trade treaties have been signed with several other nations prior to this, this promotes rather favourable internal trade amongst these countries.
-Heavy investment is made into the lumber and iron industries, alongside that of munitions. Building contractors are also subsidised, so as to encourage wide-scale building projects to begin.
-The Danubian Federation is formed, with all the minorities in the Austrian Empire besides the Austrians and Hungarians elevated to the same level of treatment by forming their own substate, similar to how the Czechs currently do it. The free city of Krakow immediately applies for admission to the Polish state and asks for some extra devolvement of power.

VOSK – Spain
Constitutional Republic
Economic status: Stagnant
-Tariffs are reduced slightly, hoping to invigorate trade in the old colonies.
-A government-funded central bank is set up Madrid, handing out subsidies and loans to new businesses being set up. Funds are also set aside to fund an expedition to western Africa, to look for possible colonial prospects.
-Along with the new government in wake of the Carlist wars, the military is re-organized into a more modern command structure. A recruitment drive is set up, offering cheap land in the colonies to any soldiers who volunteers to serve for 4 years. Given that most of this land is of poor quality (and that the rest is dominated by large plantations or jungle) this is not very enticing.
-A naval detachment is sent to Cuba to keep a close eye on the developing situation in the Americas, and to make sure there is no encroachment in Spanish territory.
-The new government begins to experiment with new Revolver technology, trying to see why this same mechanism can't be used on Rifles, or even cannons. They eventually manage to build a rifle with a revolving mechanism, although it is a cumbersome and unreliable weapon.
-With the new Liberal government in power, a move towards a constitutional monarchy is made that respects individual freedoms, complete with cracking down on reactionary dissidents.
-To help bind the country together, a large number of laws are passed so as to allow the easy startup of railway companies, whom immediately start building ad hoc lines in random parts of the country. Telegraph lines soon follow, once the equipment is imported.

Asantos3 - People's Republic of China
Geniocracy Single-Party State Republic (In practice, an Absolute Monarchy)
Economic status: Positive expansion
-The first modern police forces are established in China, growing out of port guards and collectors who have to keep a check on traders.
-New examinations and longer training is established for officers, helping to whittle away those who are less competent. Whilst vastly improving quality, there is now a somewhat noticeable shortage of officers.
-A new government department is formed, being the Department of Security and Special Forces (having the responsibility for the elite military and their military tactics, and for the training of the elite security forces (elite police).
-Another department is also formed to look into development and implementation of new technologies. Essentially R&D.
-A trademarks and patents office is also established, so as to help protect intellectual rights in China. Foreign ones do not seem to be as readily recognised.
-All people in China are encouraged to try inventing things and registering them at the office, for generous rewards exist for those whom invent useful inventions (or at least import them).
-A man is sent to Russia with some paper and a rock, demanding ownership of a rock.
-Another is shortly sent afterwards, to tell them that they want paper too.
-Continued investment into the primary sector of the economy is conducted, although output isn't noticeably improved. Some advisers suggest the import of machinery to help improve output.
-The silk industry also begins to slowly grow. A patent for recently taken out for a suspiciously Italian looking piece of silk factory equipment, for which a manufactory is established.
-Men found guilty of corruption are waterboarded.
-Charles Darwin and Faraday are offered grants of money if they would help assist the Chinese with acquiring knowledge. They are both happy to send copies of their writings, and to conduct several meetings and lectures in China.
-A sanitation program is now underway, hoping to provide clean water to everybody in China. Given the high population, this is quite indeed the task. It is suggested that European sewer engineers should be brought over to assist.
-The first batteries and capacitors are now on display in the Yuelu Academy (Hunan university). A demonstration of electroplating is also conducted for the first time.
-However, internal stagnation and conservatism impedes the reforms enacted in Beijing, and now nearly a quarter of all silver in China is used to buy opium, the habit which is rapidly spreading throughout China and is causing considerable damage to the countries economic and moral strength.

Eli45 - France
Constitutional Republic
Economic status: Positive expansion
-Military units are withdrawn from Mexican and Argentinan territory and put back on transport ships to be transported back to France.
-A rapid demobilization is conducted, with removal of conscription laws. The large influx of these men causes some temporary problems inherent with mass demobilization.
-When asked why this was done, the main reason cited is that France does not wish to go to war with Prussia, whom is supporting the USA and Britain. This is seen as a considerable concession and weakness by the French people.
-France begins research of a new rifle that attempts to improve accuracy of the current rifle. For some reason, it is decided to not only rifle the barrel, but to make them longer as well. This has the effect of making them a great deal more accurate, if not much heavier to carry and to take longer to reload. The ratio of 40 to 1 (the barrel is forty times its width) is adopted. Unfortunately, this results in barrels measuring about a metre long.
-The economy seems mostly left to itself this year, with pretty much no government intervention. The lifting of embargoes and reappearance of new markets (including Britain, who now imports cheap food) does well for French agriculture.
-A white peace is signed with Argentina. The British and Americans have yet to sign a formal treaty however.
-In an attempt to help boost economic growth, the French try to sign a trading treaty with Prussia. A reply has yet to be formally made.
-Railway companies are encouraged to start up in Normandy and Brest, being given some generous grants and having land purchased on the cheap for them to build on. The farmers are unhappy, claiming that the trains will cause their cattle to fall ill.

[Seed Eater] - Danmarks National Klasse Alliance
Political party
Economic status: N/A
-The DNKA is a nationalist-leaning community organization dedicated to the collaborating of classes under the natural social hierarchy. It seeks to bring aid and prosperity to Danes and to Denmark as a whole, and to maintain and strengthen Denmark's cultural heritage in the face of tides of liberalism and socialism. To achieve this, the DNKA seeks to bring the bourgeoisie and elite to power, in place of the existing monarchy, and to bolster their support through the working class, and in the ranks of the military. The DNKA prefers to gain support in the working class through community aid, community events and organisations, and the formation of a paramilitary militia to challenge the supremacy of the monarch and his state.
-Street marches and demonstrations are held, but are immediately banned by the ruling monarchy, forcing much of their activity underground.
-The party looks for support among the growing middle class, with the promise of supporting them in the event of taking power. They do gain a degree of support, although there are those who point to the success of reforms in Britain as a peaceful method.
-Despite the growing movement of the Liberals and Nationalists, there is also another somewhat hostile movement in Schesweig-Holstein. The German majority there supports independence, and appeals to the Prussian monarchy.
-A co-operative movement is established with backing from the party. It isn't too popular yet however, due to little legal protection or acknowledgement.
-Weaponry begins to be stockpiled in secret, mostly in barnhouses and in disused mineshafts. Most of these weapons are homemade and not up to par with modern rifles.

N.B. I accidentally have confused Romania and Bulgaria. The browny country just north of Thrace is Wallachia (Not Bulgaria as was previously assumed), which has now formed into Romania in union with Moldavia.
Bulgaria however, has also declared independence, so now both Romania and Bulgaria exist (Wallachia and Moldavia do not however).
(Britain, France, Germany, and the USA are all now capable of exporting large numbers of machinery).

-The Ottoman Empire signs a peace treaty with all the Balkan nations, allowing them to proceed as independent nations. Serbia does extremely well out of the deal, gaining access to the Adriatic sea. Romania, Bulgaria (the latter recently declared independence) and Bosnia-Herzegovina are now also accepted as independent nations. The Greeks also gain concessions.

And so, the Balkan problem has been peacefully resolved.
While elsewhere, the Ottoman Empire is being eaten by Egypt...
I expected they would be banned. I was hoping I could get enough popular support by then.
Fixed my flag. here you go.
