Mining and Lumbering only work on mines and trees you personally spawn from F2 or the spawn menu, once you have spawned one of them take your axe/pickaxe out and look slightly upward before chopping/mining.
How were you trying to pick them up? You're supposed to use the hands weapon and hold your reload button (Default 'r')

Ah yes sorry there was an beta going on last night, it's going back up right now.
Yeah. I said I was doing it on the ones I spawned. I tried everything. I right clicked on the ghost, left clicked, pressed R (with hands, all three prior), and used a pick on the rock.
Why don't you come on with me and we'll see what's wrong, then?
I'm going on now, I'll wait for 10 minutes-ish unless people join.
Figured out what was wrong; Problem is now fixed.
