Harvest should be reservered for groups of 6 players or greater, other than that it's not much fun.
Dunno bout that scout. Personally, I think it gets too damn nuts when you have much more then that. To me, Smaller groups seem better
But if you have less than six you can't form the massive squads that tear through all the rocks.

Yeah breaking the rocks is the most tedious part really. But 5-6 is ideal for the map.
