It is in my interest, and the interest of the French, to maintain a communist government. I didn't make the USSR crumble just to let enemies take hold of it. I was willing to let a coalition of nations oversee it. Myself, Rome, and Obs were going to maintain peace int he region through military occupation -not annexation- but this civil war started, and Portugal stepped in. Rome ended up being Hitler, trying to annex his part of France, Portugal is expansionist and a hypocrite in his reasoning (let the French heal the French, so I'm going to invade), and the only reason Obs was there was because I ceded much of my territory I was overseeing to him because I didn't feel I could take on that responsibility at the time. My final goal was a unified France, without war. This isn't happening. So because no one else is willing or capable to work on a unified France through peace, and only wishing to continue the war for their own side and promote potentially dangerous ideologies or taking the land for themselves, I'm taking this into my own hands. I am going to unify France, I a going to maintain a weak, but communist, government, and then I am going to give France its freedom. I am willing to work on government talks after France is unified. But I'm not budging on a unified France, and if I need to trample some fascists and capitalists to get there, then I will.

I have PMs from you stating that you were going to leave france alone. And I never meant for them to heal themselves, they need strong leadership. And how is it in the interest of the french to hold communist, that's why they rebelled and why 2/3 migrated to capitalism, your purpose in this war isn't to save the people, it's for expansion. France will never get true freedom, it will always be your puppet if I allow you to take it. The french will be unified, yes, but under my rule.

Because I had every intention of ceding my occupied land into a communist France, and letting the Swedish and Romans occupying the rest, with unification coming later once we got things settled down. Because that's what was supposed to happen. But that didn't. Instead, Rome gave a piece to you and wasn't going to work to unify the land, and the Swedish weren't going to either, since they said in one of the turns that Swedish France had a chance to join Sweden. I have no interest in a puppet. Explain to me why I would voluntarily dissolve the USSR while it was in my power, yet now want to control France. I'm tied for the most industrialized nation on the planet, I have a strong military and am very technologically advanced. What good would I have from needing to oversee France, a ruined nation, unless I had legitimate interests in the well-being of the French populace? But you on the other hand came in, without any support from anyone except the Romans, expanding, claiming that the French should fight it out for themselves, then invading. I don't give a crap what you think my reasons are, I'm marching my ass to Catalonia, where I'm going to shake hands with fellow communists, and then I'm marching my ass back home, with France in a secure position.

I've come to the realization that we've achieved relative peace in five out six continents. Yes Europe tends to explode every two years but all North America, South America, Africa, Asia and Oceania have now boiled down to are a patchwork of superpowers grinding against one another in total unrelieved frustration.

So CIS is dead at this point in a matter of speaking. my merge!

It wouldn't have happened if I hadn't worked on it, set it up, planned it out, got everyone together and split it up in ways people were happy with. My point is, I'm not conquering- I'm liberating and stabilizing. My final goal still is a Catalan-style anarcho-communist France. Like I said, I'd be willing to budge on the government a bit, but I'm not letting Portugal control it. You have no reason to be there and no interest in it. I could understand with the USSR, but that's gone now. This is France. The French were my allies and still are. I have a reason to oversee the peaceful transition of power through non-exploitative means that would secure peace to myself and my surrounding nations. You have no reason to be involved. You already imperialise most of Africa. If anything your control there is an indicator that you're the one looking to control France for yourself, not me.
