I'm sorry who are you and why should I give a shit?
Damn your memory is short mate, how about you check how the game was before Sobotnik left from GM position? And the reason why you should give at least some shit is you don't want that everybody turns against you... again

Oh, somebody rated dumb on Someguy's post. I wonder who it is? Well who would have guessed?
Still don't see why I should care.
http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1185198 Dude, ven, dude, holy shit.
Still don't see why I should care.
Well on some point you will (unless you do something completely different...)
http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1185198 Dude, ven, dude, holy shit.
Wait what my old Prime Minister committed suicide who's this new one? SCANDALOUS
Okay so I think we need to make a decision now, It's obvious Eat Children wont be coming back for some time to finish the other half so, I guess we should redo this turn? (Or maybe Have the GM do the other half) So Hit Agree if you want to redo last turn Hit disagree if you want to continue off the other half. GM Voting. Funny Kriegs, Winner Sobotnik, Zing Mr Face. Obviously Face cant vote for himself, I cant vote for myself etc etc
You can't force someone to be a GM. Any who want the position will talk amongst themselves over who'll be GM.
Those are the people who offered to be GM. Which is why they are up there
Sobotnik stated he's considering GM. Obnobs also put the idea on the table. I don't think you, Kriegs, should be GM, and I'd prefer it if Face wasn't due to bias for now at least.

Obnobs said He would if it was the game was about to die (I'm pretty sure that was him, I'm to god damn lazy to go back and fucking look.) And the games not necessarily about to die, And there's always that option of Face and Ven co running .... lord knows how that would turn out.
If I were to run things, I would try to make it a bit more realistic. For one, I would get rid of all scientific advances not supported by theory. One example is how nobody has figured out yet that E = mc^2 and the implications of that. Only once you have the requirements, you could advance. Also people have been neglecting organic chemistry and metallurgy, along with economic theories.
I've put some into metallurgy a while ago when the airplane was first created in Europe. Face didn't post much about it, but I have quite a few mines and did a fair bit of research on those metals to make lighter and stronger metals. I definitely think you should be GM.
I don't think I need E = MC² to make missiles.
You'd need to understand nuclear physics before making nuclear weapons, however. It's part of the reason the US and USSR had a big rush to get as many Nazi rocket scientists as they could.
I'm not making nuclear weapons. I don't care about nuclear weapons. I'm trying to get into space. I've already had a rocket into the outer atmosphere. I want to be the first nation to deploy a satellite. [editline]21st May 2012[/editline] Also, Sobo, you damn well better not get rid of my nuclear reactors. That technology was researched under YOUR GMship not anyone elses. And you don't need E=MC² to build a nuclear reactor. The physics behind a reactor is a lot less involved than in creating a nuclear warhead. PLUS. I remember how you described the process when I was researching reactors. I did all the experiments to discover nuclear radiation and atoms and such before hand.
And you don't need E=MC² to build a nuclear reactor.
Energy is equal to mass times the speed of light squared. This would probably be useful if you wanted to build a stable reactor, because if you could work out in theory how much energy a nuclear reaction gave out as mass was converted to energy, you could design a nuclear reactor that took this into account. (If you just slapped some shit together you will end up with big problems.) A lot of the physics that went into this took decades upon decades of research by scientists of the 19th and 20th centuries. Nuclear fission was only discovered in the late 1930s. The game is practically a century ahead of real life in terms of physics. Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Social Sciences and the such have been really neglected.
I personally don't think we should have to go that far into detail in our research, it should be implied that we're researching those things too.
I personally don't think we should have to go that far into detail in our research, it should be implied that we're researching those things too.
You don't go from steam power to nuclear energy in one turn, you need to settle into the bigger concepts. Hell, things such as atomic theory wouldn't even have to be a technology, it'd be something you say your country begins to work on under Internal Affairs.

Not everybody is that abreast on some of these subjects.
I'm going to have to agree with Face on this one, I don't want to involve myself to much in the details of technology.
Yeah that is understandable. The point I am making is that it took years of research to get that far. You don't go from effectively nothing to creating nuclear fission in 20 years. In under a decade, Van Keao bypassed about 50 years of technological development. People need to focus in other fields too.
He says it was under you, though.

It isn't a necessity for stable nuclear reactor design. You're also forgetting that like I said earlier I already went through all the experiments when I researched reactors. I built up to them. So you cannot take them away from me considering my people KNOW the physics behind it. I'm not saying I know how to make nukes. I don't WANT nukes. But they know how to make a reactor.
He says it was under you, though.
Hardly possible, Canada had barely existed for a few turns under my management and did not seem to have made significant gains in that field.
It was definitely under you, bro. Arabia and I were working on it together. I know I had it before Face took control, because the first turn he was GM I tried to research nukes to see if I could and he denied it.
I think it was under Red.
I'm fine with going a little more in-depth with tech as long as we have a general idea of where we need to go with it as long as it's like "your tech failed because knowledge in A or requirement B was not developed enough" or whatever. That being said, how's tomorrow sound for Sobotnik taking over?
I don't like the idea of more in depth technology at all. Namely because I don't want to spend hours researching the intricacies of fluid dynamics and organic chemistry before I can start developing pop rocks.
