For the past thirty years, Henry had lived alone in his obelisk, inventing and refining various magicks for the wizards of Evewynn. In his towering home, he became known as the greatest wizard in the eastern islands, eventually refining and marketing consumer-oriented versions of his techniques. In a sense, he was responsible for spreading magick to the masses in the Sunset Empire. However, he became tired of his occupation, and became enamored with the idea of adventuring to the lands beyond the Sunset Veil.
He set his apprentice in charge of his home and business, purchased a regal ship, and set sail eastward into the unknown. As with all sailing ventures, it soon became apparent that his voyage would not end well. During a month-long tempest, his ship capsized, leaving him stranded in The Great Sea without hope for survival. After drifting for what seemed an eternity, he blacked out, and awoke some time later on the shores of a small fishing village.
