I mean sure you miss at some point, but can easily knock zombies off something without any effort at all. That rooftop map sucks so much because of this, you can spend hours falling down and climbing back up from one shotgun slug. Same goes for the machine gun, only that can hold off even more zombies.

Just yesterday I threw one at three zombies chasing me on the lostworld map, near the bus stop spot (dead dinosaur), and they all were thrown off the cliff. You just have to time them right.
