You'd best hope nobody tries to add a giant stone penis to it
I'll be on anti rock-cock patrol.
Zero, is my WIP :frog: gone on NVG? I can't find it on the dynmap.
Zero, is my WIP :frog: gone on NVG? I can't find it on the dynmap.
It's still there, the DynMap is fubared. I'll fix it here fairly soon. Aaaaaand fixed.
I just checked ingame. It's completely gone. And so are a few trees. Great. Somebody burned it down.
I just checked ingame. It's completely gone. And so are a few trees. Great. Somebody burned it down.
Lightning may have hit it.
Lightning may have hit it.
Then the rain would've put out the resulting fire, no?
Looks like it's time for the Big Brother to tell us something. EDIT: Also I need a watersmith or something. I can't fix the ocean it won't stop flowing!
Yeah, NVG asploded.
Then the rain would've put out the resulting fire, no?
If rain does that then there's no explaination for the forest fires people have had. It's possible lightning hit a tree instead, as the forest nearby was burned down as well. Who the hell knows? v:v:v Either way it's restored, and hopefully the issues BroHoster is having will soon be fixed. *Edit* I restarted the server, seems to be working okay so far. Some progress may have been lost however, and I apologize.
It's still horrendously laggy.
It's still horrendously laggy.
Was working fine for me, don't know what to tell ya. Update* The lag seems to have gone away for now. I'm beginning to wonder if Brohoster's having issues with so many servers distributed across so few boxes. Sure they have the bandwidth, memory and CPU power to handle it, but I think all the chunk updates are too much even for their RAID-10 arrays.
Bump with an update. I'm contemplating bringing down the whitelist, but I need a good team of moderators to keep the place from falling apart when I'm not online. So I need a good selection of moderators to keep at least one mod online every 6 hours or so. In other news, with LogBlock and permissions now installed players can now use some of the basic LogBlock commands to see for themselves who did what to their shit, at least for the time being. I don't know how much lag it will induce when 10 players are calling upon the datebase to see if someone stole their dirt chests. Oh and we now have Lockette installed as well, so I would highly suggest that any shop-keepers and citizens log in and protect their chests soon-ish.
The most trusted VG mods :3: but make sure to restrict /i /give and any giving command basically :v:
Mods will only have access to a handful of Essentials commands such as teleportation (to make their lives easier), kicking and banning, and the LogBlock command, to make sure people don't bust up the joint/fix it if they do.
I came on today and due to my inexperience in console commands adressed the /help command. After discovering there is a god command, I tried it. It worked. I mean, that's not supposed to be so since Im not an Op, right?
*MEGA-SNIP* Flak fixed it. :v: Also,

I have finally upgraded the New Ventlegille Railway to utilize powered rails. Now that rapid transit is available, I'm having second thoughts about utilizing the new settlement as a source of glass. It would seem that there's tons of near-by sand that we could harvest around Bayside, so I've decided that rather than destroy the rather beautiful and somewhat surreal land-scape at the new settlement (which has mountains, for those who like to build in/on mountains), the new settlement will be more of a resort town. It will likely have its own mines in the future, but for the most part it just seems to be a nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the more industrial Bayside area. And with powered rails catapulting users to and from each city, supplies can be sent along with them, so my original idea of coal-powered trains sending cargo back-and-forth in storage carts. There's also room to optimize the powered cart usage I think, I have one every 7 or so rail segments, which may or may not be too much. If it's too much, I or someone else can always go back and take out every other powered rail and replace them with standard rails.
I thought that the city was called New Ventlegille...
I thought that the city was called New Ventlegille...
The map is called New Ventlegille, like a nation kinda. The cities have different names, with Bayside being the capital/major industrial center.
Just letting everyone know, this will likely be Creative VG's last month as we have gotten no donations and the servers dead 75% of the time, I'll save the map of course in case we ever want a revival but unless something changes as far as player activity within the few weeks Im probably just going to let it die. :frown:
I'd have donated but between college tuition and rebuilding my transmission I'm flat broke. :saddowns:
Yay, dynmap is fixed.
Checked the DynMap today and discovered that someone griefed the lighthouse, on top of lightning presumably burning down the bridge and "Get out" frog. Will need to lightning-proof these items in the future.
Starting the server up again, hopefully the plugins all work as they should.
I was gonna play on here again for the first time in forever but it's down :smith:
Did a walk-around on New Ventlegille. John, your store was robbed. I advised people to lock their chests but yours were unlocked. The robbery dates before BigBrother's current records. On top of that there's structures that have burned down (braww, yours was one of them), so I'll remind any citizens that lightning is a VERY real danger now, and that precautions should be taken to ensure no further property damage from fires will result. Build away from trees and, if you live in a wooden structure, place stone slabs on the roof to prevent lightning strikes from igniting your homes directly.
Thank you. I had been playing on New Ventlegille for a little while and I was beginning to like it when 1.6 was released and the entire community went into a bitch-athon. Thanks for starting it back up, I had been craving some multiplayer Minecraft for two weeks but it seemed every server owner turned into a giant baby.
I was gonna play on here again for the first time in forever but it's down :smith:
I'd just like to inform everyone that Ventlegille is dead. I guess this is the official "goodbye" post, I saved the map should we ever decide to start up again, but yeah for now this is goodbye. I want to thank all of you that helped contribute in any way, you're all my bros forever. Together we went through griefing, furries, drama, and about 4-5 different hosts :v: all to build a community that we were proud of. If you want to remain a part of the community I encourage you all to play on Zero_Points New Ventlegille server (PM Zero_Point for more info). Ive been proud to admin for such a wonderful community since November 2010 and Im sad to see it go. Thanks again, its been fun.
