Ouch, that sucks man. Like I've said in the past take your time with it, your suppose to do something useful and cool while still having fun, don't wear yourself out man.
Someone with a brain, perchance?
A friendly word of advice: Don't be an asshole, no one likes it.
I'm hardly being an asshole, your the one coming in and giving advice without any knowledge of the subject matter. That's hardly helpful.
It doesn't take someone that's played the game to know backup tools are helpful.
Shit anyone with half a brain could realize that. :colbert:

Damnit I want to play this. Someone give me $12 lol
[editline]09:11PM[/editline]
Hrm.
I'm playing the public survival test. How do you open your bag? Or is that not possible in this client
eh I'm done
http://yumyumbublegum.mine.nu/files/yumy.mclevel
I mined some more gold/coal/steel and I revamped the farm a bit
How do you open your inventory
-snip-
How do you open your inventory
You can't in survival, only in indev.
How do you open your inventory
Indev is the new version of survival, the one your playing is really really really old.
Wanna lend me 12$? I'll pay you back in "*Hugs*"? :P
The single player public survival test is really screwed up. Barely any sound, and it spawns you next to a horde of zombies/skeletons/creepers
The single player public survival test is really screwed up. Barely any sound, and it spawns you next to a horde of zombies/skeletons/creepers
I'm with you on the sound thing, but you're not really supposed to survive in Survival mode :v: You just keep playing until you get bored of running away from enemies because you don't have arrows anymore, or you eventually die.
Probably whenever Notch gets the next big version of in(f)dev up, he will update survival mode with the current indev features.
Skip my turn, I can't play Minecraft long enough to do anything resourceful.
? wait what?
Sounds awesome, can I have in?
I bought minecraft. :D
Waiting for the echeck from paypal to clear. Didn't want to draw money from the balance in my paypal account...
Great, for some reason due to the update he made recently the game won't load for me. I guess you can just count me out then. Fuck.
Great, for some reason due to the update he made recently the game won't load for me. I guess you can just count me out then. Fuck.
I suppose that make it my turn then since iPope hasn't taken his turn either.
Turn has been taken! I explored some new areas of the cave/mine, mined quite a bit of iron, gold and coal, and also found a few diamonds. Made a few markers in the cave to help find your way back, and created a game reserve (sort of).

The gold bit points in the direction you should go to get back to the entrance. I didn't place a lot of markers, so maybe the next person could expand upon it.
Here is the game reserve/hunting range.

It stretches between the main compound and the greenhouse. It is completely walled in and lit with torches, so it should hopefully keep the baddies out. With any luck, pigs and sheep should spawn inside every once in a while. As you can see in the picture, I made a couple of tall trees near the entrance to the compound. Feel free to cut any trees down but please leave the tall ones!
That's pretty much it. Next person should have plenty of iron, coal and gold. There are a few mushrooms for soup and I cooked what ham we had. Have fun!

How did you stack meat?
How did you stack meat?
Just leave the cooked meat in the oven and keep putting more meat in. It will stack. Sometimes I just leave meat in there until I get enough for a stack of 64.
tsk tsk ta16 missing your own turn
tsk tsk ta16 missing your own turn
And not updating the OP in a week. :frown:
I'm on deployment guys geeze. Mega round, all second time players get 4-5 real life days and take their turns as long as they want.
Day 1
I took the liberty of going to harvest the crops instead of forgetting this time, as you can see here.

There were a few pigs behind me when I took this shot so I killed them. No pork though for some reason. After that I decided to explore for a bit which took up most of the day.

In the picture above you can see a 3x3 staircase I have hollowed out that goes to the bottom of the map. It is well-lit and only cost me a few torches. I got assloads of materials from it.

In order to cope with the large amount of swag I was getting, I made another furnace. The top one has iron, the bottom one has cobblestone which I am using to make regular stone (makes things look prettier).

Here is the tunnel at the bottom of the staircase (sorta). It doesn't have much in it besides lava but something tells me there is more swag to be gotten down there. After this it was daylight again so I headed back upstairs and dropped it all off at the main fort.

Here's a quick view from the bottom of the staircase.
Day 2

Here is what I got from the stair-making endeavor. You can see the big batch of 64 iron down there on the bottom, I got about 50 dirt, 100 cobblestone (40 of which is still baking in the furnace),and a large vein of 35 coal, most of which was distributed around to the furnaces at the crop site.

I spent most of my day here, making a big ol' tunnel thing. It's way in the back-o-beyond, outside the large fence. Don't bother going there, I didn't find much.

Here, however, I hit the motherlode. There was a large vein of iron, I'm talking LARRRRRRRGE large. I got it all before my pickaxe broke and headed back to the base to start furnacin' it up.

And I'm not kidding when I say we have a metric shitload of iron. I have 54 in my inventory, 32 in the left furnace, 32 in the right, and I'm making the gold in the middle. We definitely have more than enough now to start some aesthetic work. Y'know, make it look pretty.

I watched the sunset from the top of the tower.

Y'know, the forest out front looks pretty good at night.
Day 3-4
Days 3 and 4 didn't really contain anything of note. I just want to clarify that pigs and sheep do spawn inside the fence. I also started work on the next floor of the base.
Day 5 (note: these pictures are in a different order than they were taken)
Well, it was my last day on the island... Again.

This is the next floor in progress. Nothing special, just adding another layer to the fort.
...On the other side, however, is the Iron Staircase as I call it. I figure if we have a ton of iron, why not put it to use making a staircase for no discernable reason?
But then I decided wasting it was a bad idea and made the staircase a little smaller.

Before I left, I compiled all the iron I'd dug out. I ended up with all that, plus about 100 coal, 5 gold, 150 cobblestone, 25 regular stone, and 5 regular blocks worth of iron.

Here's the fort as it exists at the end of my turn. Whoever goes next, I recommend putting our giant loads of iron to use.

What part of 'take as long as you want' didn't you get, you didn't only have to do 5 ingame day cycles.
The point of giving you as much time as possible within 4 real time days is so you could contribute more and MUCH MUCH cooler and bigger shit.
