Last update of the night, the primary pyramid lighting has been finished, the doors have been finished, the mining district is nearly finished as is the capital.
-snip, more updates made, see posts below-
[editline]15th October 2011[/editline]
And in case the magnitude of this pyramid isn't obvious through the pictures, here it is on the carto:

It's 104x104 and it is effectively large enough to cover Port Travis or nearly all of Spawn City in comparison.
Ahaha, who grew vines on the spelunking guild near port travis and put the sign 'Ruins of'?
Brilliant, it actually looks fitting now.
I think Spurville has been griefed. Someone messed up the roof of the farm, and removed quite a few blocks.

Was abandoned for weeks and damaged by lightning and creepers so I turned it into a proper ruin.

~very atmospheric~

What I'd really like to see are upgraded arrows.
A diamond in the middle, 8 arrows around it in the crafting table. 8 diamond arrows. But that would likely require a clientside mod for the graphics.

Yeah I would like to be able to do this too, but as you said it requires a clientside mod.
I hope minecraft will allow clients to download from the server like in gmod in the future.

Mossy and Cracked Stone Brick are blocks that are available in the game, but can't seem to be created or obtained by the player (maybe from strongholds? I don't think I've seen them there, though).
To make them more accessible for building, I would like to suggest the following recipes:
Cracked Stone Brick:

Crafted by placing Stone Brick blocks in an X-shaped pattern, symbolizing a block with 'holes' in it. The result is 5 Cracked Stone Brick blocks.

Mossy Stone Brick:

Just like with the Cracked blocks, you put five Stone Brick blocks in an X-shape. Except, you now fill in the gaps with Leaf blocks (leaves need a good use anyway). The result is 5 Mossy Stone Brick blocks.

What could be more fun than watching grass grow across the ocean?

The Capital is now in construction at the pyramid, the windows has been finished, and lighting has been further improved.

I did a quick calculation earlier to work out how many sandstone blocks made the pyramid, it was over 10,000. Sweet.

Coming right up!
Do you want a cobble version of that leaf recipe too?

For mossy cobble, you mean?
Sure, why not.
For mossy cobble, you mean?

Aight, all done.
Hope profan adds those recipes.
That is really awesome. I can't believe you made that with legit blocks.
Somebody should recommend that to Crafthub once its all finished! Could get us some traffic if Profan's still looking for some.
Those recipes look awesome, I'll finally have something to do with all my pointless gravel :D
Also, I'll be releasing information on lot prices and taxes within the Pyramid. Now I know what you're thinking: Taxes? Yes, sort of. Paying a weekly tax will get you a special membership with special benefits. Only people living in one of the "special" districts (industrial/mining and agriculture) can benefit from these. You can opt out if you want to, but then you lose these particular benefits.
Dx2 and I are toying with the idea of letting people buy lots on our village/town/city-fort/castle/palace-at-sea after we finish expanding the housing platforms. We're located at about -500 -1900. Anyone interested?
Being as bored as I am I find myself inspecting the carto looking at peoples creations and cool formations.
I'm confused as to what is going on over here

I checked it out; basically the dude(s?) leveled an entire desert, put a layer of cobblestone over it, and built some cobblestone buildings. There's a giant mine shaft that's at least 30x30 and goes down at least 50 levels. Pretty sure it's abandoned, there hasn't been any progress on it in days.
Update on the Pyramid (again)

Decided on the official lighting method, using torches and glass on the floor. This looks good, and provides just enough light to keep the monsters away, while showing a noticeable difference between night and day. Also made progress on the capital, and added a simple road leading from the pyramid to Overdone Inc.

The top left island (At the top, to the left of the middle) is mine from when I passed that dude over night once, I lived there for 2 hours and there is probably still a door there :v:
[editline]16th October 2011[/editline]
Infact, below that island is the real island.
A whole cobblestone island. If Profan finds out he'll have a heart attack.

Followed by a TNT attack.
Nope.avi
