Just ran some numbers on our fort to find out how much dirt will be used to fill up the lower quarters. It takes 6,372 blocks of dirt or just under 100 stacks to cover all 4 quarters in dirt. The dirt is layered 3 deep, so in total there will be 19,116 blocks of dirt or just under 299 stacks on our fort. We still have about 100 stacks to go, so anybody who is willing to sell us some should speak up.

[editline]17th October 2011[/editline] It's 106x106 and it is effectively large enough to cover Port Travis or nearly all of Spawn City or the bigass pyramid in comparison.

If the pyramid has taught me anything, it's that hugeass projects require a lot of commitment and work. How tall is this thing going to be? If it's a fort and not just a walled in city, stone costs are going to be monumental. Yeah, we purposely expanded it a few blocks out to make it the biggest. :v: It's going to be a tiered fortress with three main tiers: -The lower tier is divided into quarters and will hold houses and small farms. -The middle tier is divided into two levels, the upper level which is a walkway with 2 bazaars that goes around the upper tier, and the lower level which will be home to the shops. -The upper tier will consist of the main keep, which will stretch from about 6 blocks above sea level to just above the cloud layer. There will be towers and spires on every corner so we're hoping that it looks very intimidating. We'll probably sell lots on the lower tier and shops on the second. So today I went down to the library to print off something for my English class and my parents Credit Reports for our new house... which is HUGE! but yeah... It is giving me ideas to design a house in MC. I was finished and decided to log into minecraft to surprise you guys, turns out they blocked it... The last base I was at didn't block minecraft so I have no idea why they would block it here. Its the same military library system :/

I really don't mind if you want to build on an area, as the structures are abbandoned anyway, but I would prefer if you kept to the general aesthetic of the area, and give it a 'jungle feel'. Respect the forest, maaaaan. P.S. Please no giant mushrooms, I think they look hideous. P.P.S. I plan to expand more empty/abbandoned areas to jungle to the north and west of the current jungle (considering the sun comes up in the east). Basically, away from spawn. I also plan to build some arteficial ruins now that we have access to cracked and mossy stone brick. The area should be pretty fun (and dangerous) to explore.

know what would be awesome? If you started a sandstone desert city around or near it. Theres a large desert with 2 NPC towns in it if you follow the river through the forest and the side of the mountain with the buildings on it. It could be a trade route.
