Thanks. Filming for my video will begin on Thursday. It'll probably end then too, I just have to think up some snazzy screenplay and decide what music to use. Like I said, should be done by Christmas. And I'm HOPING to have the tradepost running by tomorrow night. However, I want other markets to start opening up, so we are only selling health and speed potions, arrows/bows, iron tools, torches, redstone, bread, melons, pumpkins and seeds, along with smoothstone, wood planks and cobblestone.

Could somebody explain to me how to use this chest-shop plugin, and how this economy plugin works? I've never used them before.
And, can this money be turned into diamonds or other ore for example? Because "money" is worth nothing to me if I can't turn it into something useful, in the same way that paper currency wouldn't have gotten off the ground if it wasn't "worth" something in gold.

But yeah, there ought to be a way for people to convert money directly to some form of useful ore, i.e. iron or diamond.
I'm not sure if this plugin lets you trade money for diamonds, but I think you are missing the point.
The whole idea of money is that it doesn't have physical value. You can't take your actual money to a bank and ask for gold.

You can't, but at one point you could (in principle), and that's where its value originated. Right now, it has none. It has no useful quality.
Ok, so actual money and Minecraft money are not the same thing. I guess this kind of money is sort of backed by actual value, because the only way it's made is by trading in gold/whatever. It's like early money systems, I guess, except you can't trade the money back for gold. I know that other servers I have played on simply made banks that sold infinite gold for the corresponding amount.
Minecraft money is useful because it allows players to trade when they are offline.

Then allow me to right now recommend an infinite iron bank. I apologize for complaining, but as one of this server's biggest "business owners" there are very few people who I buy from. To me, unless there is an actual, useful ore I can reliably trade this money in for, it is useless to me. I can't make tools with it, I can't lay track with it, I can't smelt things with it. All of which are things I could desperately use more of. We're funding a lot of projects right now, our treasury is emptying, and I don't want to downgrade my workers' tool supply to stone. I like having a well equipped work force.

No, of course I'm going to, I'm just looking to settle those issues. In the mean time, I'll be collecting money so I can use it when it gets sorted out. And like I said, I apologize, but it's just basic business. I need an incentive for trade, and "look you get money" isn't worth it when I can't use the money. Unless I can build money blocks, and then make 3-d dicks all over the landscape with it. Then it'd be an even trade.
