Just fill the place that needs the water removed with dirt then dig it all out. that will remove the water.

About your town, maybe you could connect Brevnograds railway to your town? We could use a brick to make an intersection in the tunnel just after the railway emerges outside of brevnograd?

TO MAKE A SPACESHIP (or platform):
1: go to space by using the high tower near spawn, jump when on top of it
2: create a 3X3 platform disconnected from anything else
3: then type this command: [b]/aircraft pilot[/b] . You will now be in control of it
4: to stop flying around, type:[b] /aircraft release[/b] . You will also release if you're more then 15 seconds away from your vessel
you can now fly around!
Some blocks cannot be moved, examples are sandstone and dirt, with this, you can create docks (as you can see on my 1st picture, where I docked against some sandstone. The ship also can't be more then 1000 blocks.
ANOTHER good idea is to add signs to your ship with coordinates of certain locations, like profan's space station and the spawn.
