It counts up to 99 and then goes back to 00. :)
Just a quick heads up for those rail builders: the rail connecting al gothein to lava springs and brevnograd's foundation is finished. It just requires some rail at this point to finish it off. Once that line is complete, it should be easy enough to dig through the mountain and connect lava springs and spiral town to it. As for the chinese city, now that would be a long rail.
talkin' about rails, here's a rail I'm making to spawn:
