No items are spawned, PVP is on, there is chest protection

Can't lock doors anymore.
Signs, Furnaces and Chests automatically become locked when you place them but the lock can be removed by the owner.
Also PVP is off.
It is basically a building server but you can't spawn anything you want.

It's pretty much a PvE survival build server. Because building feels much cooler if you have to gather resources by hand.

A creeper blew up the spawn, now there's a hole with lava in it right beside where you spawn.

Well i think i still have 3 chests of gold still. But the server is so boring right now. Its been the same for about 3 months now? Can't wait for reset.

It's SMP the way it's meant to be played, IMO. I've played on a couple of PVP servers and they're invariably just terrible. It takes only mere seconds to destroy what might have taken days to build, and there are so many hacks and cheating methods that it's just pointless to even try playing PVP unless it's with a small group of close friends whom you can rely on to have some decency.

I think the fact that i wasn't there when it started up messed everything up, not trying to look like a big ass or anything, but it probably is.
I for one can't wait for the reset. I don't really come on any more because of the inevitable reset so I'd rather use my time in other places.
But as soon as we start a new one I can't wait to see the amazing things Notch has in store for us and the ideas that will blossom with the new terrain. We we so excited.

Yeah... but I wanted to do it... and i wanted a giant bang... you know... one that would crash the server... and i spent 5 hours and a shit load of mats to do it. i dont just want someone to destroy it other than me and maybe a few blocks by anigerian cuz he locked them...
also i wanted to do it at the end of this map not right now
can you at least revert it back to original?Cuz i dont wanna waste another hour and 5chests of planks fixing it... and probably 3 stacks of tnt or more

You do realize that as long as the signs are there, the detonation won't explode the entire house, only 1 block.
1.8 will bring good times to the server, forming groups and raiding strongholds.

And shadow, not even 4000 tnt is enough to crash the server, just severely slow it down for a while.
And that wasn't even near that much.
