Maddox stared at Alex. "What are you implying chef?"
He pointed towards the door. "One of Moloch's pals told me of his abilities so I figured that, since he's joining us, he might as well begin his work now. I figured you'd want to be here when your sister comes back but I guess I was wrong."
"I'm not a chef, I'm a bartender."
Ahaz smiles at bucky. "No problem. What game are we playing?"
"Like I said. 'Roid Racers 5k23. Best damn tag-team space racing game ever." She replies.
Bucky looks at Mercy once more. "Wanna play? I dunno if you like vidya, but it's fun even for people who don't game a lot."
János did a slight nod, before continuing.
The video unpauses and shows him approaching the ship, knocking on it for politeness points. He gets no response at first, so he knocks again. Moloch responds this time, telling him to go away. János slowly peppers information about Frosty in an attempt to start a dialogue, culminating in Moloch opening the door to him. He entered in the least offensive way possible, despite Moloch pointing a gun at him. He stayed calm and explained himself. Moloch disarmed him and they soon entered a dialogue. As the two spoke, one could hear Yuga speaking to Amelia through the communicator.
It was obvious through Moloch lowering his gun that what János was saying linked with what he knew about Frosty. Moloch revealed how he needed to bring Frosty back to his people, with János responding as anyone would. He knew that Frosty wanted to rid himself of his amnesia, and Moloch seemed as though he would be the answer (especially as one tidbit linked itself to Frosty's earlier space rage). He had Moloch speak to Yuga directly, and after a bit of work, Moloch does just that. However, it was obvious from their conversation that Yuga was planning something. János was nervous after he was threatened, but he tried his best to stay calm. Things were being discussed, and the two finally introduced themselves to one another.
Soon, the others got in, and Moloch flew his ship towards the Muramasa. He describes Yuga to Moloch, displaying his own thoughts on the then-Captain. He finds out Moloch's age, as well as the fact that his people was mysterious. It did, however, provide a good explanation to how Moloch healed Frosty.... they weren't human. With knowledge of his age, János decides to take the opportunity to see if he could find something out about the diamonds, which he did.
János looked at Taylor, hoping she wasn't judging him for taking this opportunity.
Back to the video, they soon arrived at the Muramasa. He effectively gets Moloch to promise to bring Frosty back if the poor guy wished it, and then talks to Amelia in order to get the strongbox out. He gets offered a smoke, but he refuses for logical reasons. He began using much friendlier words towards Moloch - despite him being a key towards solving Frosty's mystery, he didn't want to anger the man, even if he himself was suspicious to a degree - acting naive was key. The priority of the mission had changed in his eyes - they were going to help Frosty get his memories back.
He spoke to Amelia some more, until Yuga informed him that Moloch needed to sign a covenant. While he sent a message to Moloch, he questioned the purpose of a covenant by asking if Frosty has officially signed anything. Yuga explained that a verbal agreement was just as binding, especially as he was being paid. Moloch asked for him to be an escort, which he obliged. The gang arrives at the ship, with János getting a glimpse of Moloch's face in its full glory before being threatened once more.
They arrive at the bridge, where Yuga had the contract in hand. Moloch motioned to him whether or not he should trust her. He did what he deemed right - he told him not to trust her. He gets a glimpse of Moloch's writing before Yuga attempted to seize Moloch. They spoke some more, and as they did, the first team returned to the ship. Things were getting hectic, as while people agreed with not letting Frosty go, they didn't agree with arresting Moloch. Things were going to go either two ways - either someone would get third degree burns trying to arrest a man who could create fire from his hands in order to rescue someone that had been completely healed and was going to spend an unknown amount of time in a coma, or let the man who saved his friend go and help him get his memories back. Keeping up his naive disguise, he used an emotional appeal to get everyone on his side. He knew what kind of person Yuga was - one who didn't like to have their authority questioned, who would only work for their own self gain. And at this moment, it was most obvious, as she was willing to risk more lives despite the first team returning with injured. He had won the fight, and gained Yuga's hatred.
As he was planning on getting the second team's stuff back, Moloch offered him the chance to ask one question related to either Frosty, or his people. He chose the latter. The video pauses abruptly.
"Before I reveal what he confined to me, I just want to say that I will explain my reasoning as to why I let him leave," he said with a bit of silence after his words, before continuing.
Moloch revealed his people's story, spoken in a way that an idiot would believe in the good they were saying, while an academic would realize the propaganda it is, as well as its true nature. János had to continue playing the role of a naive idiot, and as such thought how an idiot did. He grabbed the group's stuff before saying a goodbye, hoping that Frosty would come back. Moloch thanked him before leaving. He continued to think like an idiot until Moloch's ship was out of sight, at which point, he returned to normality. He had just let a terrorist take Frosty. The video stops when János finds out that Abraxas was leaving.
János looked at Taylor. "....do you have any questions before I explain myself?"
Mercy shrugs, setting her glass down, "I suppose I have nozhink better to do. From what I know, zhe medical bay is covered, so why not?"
Markus arrived to his room only to see the gravity being turned off.
He ponder for a brief moment and the puts one and one together, "Fuckin cunt." he mutters.
He enters his room and propels himself towards his locker where he stores his whiskey in his dufflebag, so that when the gravity comes back on it wont fall and shatter.
He then picks up his rifle and floats back into the corridor.
Walking down the hall he locates to door to Bucky's room but couldn't get in on account on the door being locked.
Angered by the hinder for his revenge he swings the butt of his rifle against the door console, smashing it to pieces.
He then uses one of his knives to scratch the word "Whore" onto the door before heading of to the med bay.
As he enters he notices there is already a stand-off happening.
Not being terribly interested in the subject he interrupts the conversation, "Any o you fellas seen the capn?"
Bucky gets a ping about her door being damaged. She checks the local cameras and sensors, and sure enough there's Markus being an asshole. She attaches the alert to a message and sends it off to Taylor. [Hey, Markus got really belligerent and trashed my door. Carved something pretty unsavory on it. Mind having a word with him?]
She turns her attention to Mercy. "Awesome! I'll put out a blurb to see if Janos wants to come too, but we can go ahead down to my quarters."
Taylor watched and listened, taking it all in. From what she was seeing, she was right to have stepped in and asked for a new vote. Moloch may have been a wanted criminal, but so was Valk, Jag, and Markus. As for Yuga's personal reasons for wanting Moloch captured and killed, they were in free space. You could believe literally whatever the fuck you wanted to. They weren't in Ayr or Sol space. They were on the fringes of Sanghvi and Kanad space. Which was currently a war zone. It'd was better to let Moloch take Frosty back to his people instead of risking the lives of other crew members in an attempt to subdue a pyromancer. At least, at that very moment it was.
"....do you have any questions before I explain myself?"
"No. Go ahead." she said, sitting back.
Gentlemen, please. There are already three injured people in the med-bay. There is no need for a fourth.
"Can it firebrand, I'm not going to put him out of commision. He's too goddamn usefull." He looked back at Maddox
"I like that you think that I'm dumb enough to buy your bullshit because of my position on this ship. Really feel the apreciation. Alright, soldier boy, answer me this. If you dont trust him, why did you bring him here? To my sister? Why didn't you ask him to demonstrate his power on you before you could have potentially endagered her? Why call me at all? So I can be your backup in case your plan doesnt go through? Its pretty easy to know that you're up to something. And I doubt that the captain will apreciate it. Even if he is the creepiest motherfucker that crawled out of space Hell. And another thing."
He took one step closer to Maddox. "Use me, my family or anyone on this ship like this again and I will come down to the armory and put the fear of god into you. Understand me? Whatever armor or toy, you may use as protection, I will use to shatter every single bone in your body so that even he will have a hard time figuring out how to put you together!"
He turned around and stormed off back to the messhall, sending Taylor a message.
When you're done with whatever work you have, we need to talk about Maddox.
The only way Moloch and the two Quds members could respond to Maddox getting verbally murdered.
Ahaz looks around. "Before I start playing, I need to speak to the captain. Anyone know where she is?"
Maddox remained silent. He turned towards Moloch. "Thanks for the demonstration." Mad then turned towards Markus. "Haven't seen her in a while, she should be on the ship though."
With nothing more to say Maddox excused himself and returned to the armory where he began to work on his latest project.
"Does anyone have a commlink I could borrow?"
János sighed - he was relieved by the fact that Taylor seemed to have taken the info well. Hopefully, she would understand his explanation.
"I'll divide it in two, so that I can touch on more specific details;
"First, we have Frosty himself. Let us consider what Moloch told me - they were indeed not human, explaining how Frosty was able to survive. However, through a few key points, we managed to take a glimpse into Frosty's true nature - his space rage, Moloch commenting on the bit from his starfighter, and the story of their revolution. From those, one could pull an educated guess.... Frosty was really one of them. A people like his was built for endurance, to take many hits from their enemies, and with a select few like Moloch able to easily fix them, they could wage an endless war. However, as we know, they were outnumbered and defeated, with Frosty getting lost and frozen on their way out.
"If we did capture Moloch, there might've been a chance that Frosty would wake up from his coma without amnesia. We saw a glimpse of his true self through his space rage, and if that did represent who he really was, he might become too blinded to see who his post-amnesia friends were. If he regained his memories on their home planet, then he would've stayed there and we would have trouble off our hands. However, there was the possibility that he would wake up on their home planet still amnesiatic. I hoped this would be the case, however.
"I expected his time there to be bad, as any planet ruled by terrorists would be, and if he woke up still with amnesia, then he'd experience how bad it is. Unlike before, now there was a conflict of interest between the personalities of the old Frosty and the new Frosty. Now, as we know, he didn't get his memories back, and it is obvious that his time there was far worse than I anticipated, which is something I want to apologize for - but now, he doesn't want anything to do with his past, he's got motivation to fight back his memories, to keep himself the way he is. If he avoided situations like the space rage incident, and kept fighting, he could possibly defeat his old self within his own mind, absorb it and become a stronger Frosty - one with all the skills of the old one, but with the kindness and anti-terrorist views of the new one," he explained his first point, with an obvious lack of knowledge in psychology.
"My second point is related to Moloch. He obviously cared for Frosty. He didn't want to let go of him. He was important to him. While I don't know what kind of positions they have at the CoG, it is obvious that he must be an important figure if only because of his abilities, such as healing and summoning flames. So, with someone that could be considered important, why would they just go after one lost artisynth, even if they were a friend of theirs? Because they were incredibly important.
"It is obvious that Frosty holds something within his amnesia, whether it be knowledge about something or someone. I mean, he's on the ship now because of Frosty. Whatever this knowledge is however, it is to benefit the CoG as a whole. That's another reason why Frosty having a conflict of personalities is good, because it keeps this knowledge away from Moloch," he explained his second point.
He finished, looking at Taylor. "So, any questions?"
Bucky hands Ahaz her commlink. It's an older model, but it works. "There ya go."
Taylor took in his explanation, then sat forwards. "The question I have is just how important is Frosty to Moloch and CoG? Maybe in time, Frosty's amnesia will wear down enough to tell us. I just hope it doesn't change him back into what he used to be." she said, looking at the screen.
She finally stood after a moment. "I want to keep Moloch under close watch. At all times. Especially around Frosty. He might try to twist Frosty around against us." she continued. "As for you, I accept your explanation but will also be forwarding it to Rask and Yanim. They'll probably be wanting to know why we let Frosty go in the first place too."
She checked her holotablet, as it had been vibrating while she had been watching the video. Two messages. One from Bucky and one from Alex. Apparently Markus had carved something into Bucky's door. Great. She stepped out of Janos cabin quietly, then headed down to Bucky's door. That's when she saw the word 'WHORE' carved into the door, apparently with a knife, and the door panel next to it smashed. Taylor simply made a face, then went looking for Markus.
János was relieved that she accepted it, but before he could ask her a few questions, she ended up leaving after looking at her holotablet....
He didn't even get a chance to ask about getting his communicator replaced, ask about something very personal to him, ask her to inform Frosty of the things he told her, or tell her that Frosty spoke to Yuga.
He sighed again, as he pulled the cable out of himself and got on his computer. Apparently, Bucky was playing Roid Racers 5k23. He needed something to relax, but this was also a good time to ask about the communicator. He grabbed the broken thing, and headed to Bucky's cabin. He knocked on her door, avoiding the words written on it.
((Busy captain is busy. :v:))
Ahaz calls Taylor on the commlink. "Hey, could I order an emergency delivery of supplies? We're short of some essential things."
Frosty sat in the center of his cabin room looking down while the Sermon Giver circled him like a vulture.
"You know why, do you? You know why you can't tell them, can you? I'm the reason why things are a no go with them? That things are the way they are with you?"
He got up very close to Frosty's face.
"If you tell them, they'll think you're crazy! You don't want them to think you're crazy do you? You don't want your friends-... Oh, I apologize, they aren't your friends now are they? Don't worry, don't worry..."
Frosty kept looking down.
"Look at me, Mr. Frosty."
Frosty didn't budge.
"LOOK AT ME!!!" growled out the Sermon Giver.
Frosty shot straight up. He was scared.
"... I'll be your friend, Mr. Frosty."
Jason sat at one of the Bar stools and stayed silent for a bit before speaking
"Welp. Since there's no more booze left. i think i'll be fine with tea."
Jason searches for any items he can find for tea making.
Markus exited the med-bay and spotted Taylor in the corridor, "Oy cap!"
He walked towards her with brisk heavy steps, holding his rifle in one hand, stopping about a meter fro Taylor, "Ya better get that robot bitch into line. Cause now she's uusin some techno shit to do what she pleases. And if it continues, I'll turn 'er into scrap, take my money and fuck right off." he spat.
"Ya better get that robot bitch into line. Cause now she's usin' some techno shit to do what she pleases. And if it continues, I'll turn 'er into scrap, take my money and fuck right off."
"What are you talking about? What'd she do exactly? Also, did you really have to fuck up her cabin door?" said Taylor, pointing a thumb ever her shoulder.
Markus looks around and scratches his head, "Well, she's fucked the gravity, air con and heatin' in my fuckin room for hurtin' her feelings."
He walked up next Taylor, "An' ya can tell yer, that if she continues to act like a upstuck cunt, she gonna get cut sooner or later. An' how it's lookin right now, it's probably gonna be sooner."
He walked past Taylor and headed to his room.
Great. Crew infighting is starting to come up. Taylor shook her head, and walked off to find Alex. Probably in the mess hall. She shoots Bucky a message as she walks.
Bucky, I don't know what happened between you and Markus, but it ends now. Fix the gravity and heating in his room. What you did was just as childish as what he did to your door.
- T. Caine
Eventually, she arrives in the mess hall, walking into the kitchen area where Alex was. "You needed to see me, Alex?" she asked, walking up.
Bucky replies with the diagnositcs she's been performing hourly on the ship's systems. Everything is basically fucked. Power in some sections is unstable, and there's faults popping up everywhere; even in crew quarters. It's entirely possible that the systems in Markus' room didn't shut down at her command, but instead just failed. She's given a plausible explanation.
She takes Mercy and Ahaz to her quarters, and shoots Janos a text.
Yo, Janos. Wanna come down to my place for vidya?
-Bucky
"Yes. It's the soldier boy."He leaned back on one of the kitchen counters. "He's up to something. A few minutes ago I get a message from him calling me to the medbay. Something about finding someone, who can help with Amy. I rush there and what do I see? Maddox talking to Moloch, he then proceeds to cutting himself and Moloch performes some magic looking bullshit to heal the wound. Keep in mind. This is after I arrive so he can make sure that Moloch can heal him. Raises a question doesnt it? Also a mirriad of other question. If he didnt trust him, why have him anywhere our wounded? Why call me at all? Why endager the crew? He's up to something."
János is still at the door for Bucky's room. He was starting to think that she wasn't in there, especially considering he wouldn't know if she sent him any messages or not. As he began to move away from the door, he saw Bucky down the hall with Mercy and Ahaz.
He waved at them with his empty hand.
"Yes. It's the soldier boy."He leaned back on one of the kitchen counters. "He's up to something. A few minutes ago I get a message from him calling me to the medbay. "...That does sound suspicious. None of us trust Moloch, so why the hell would he lead him literally to our wounded where he could possibly finish them if he wanted?" said Taylor, shifting a bit. It makes no sense. The rest of the crew would be trying to keep him as far away from the wounded as possible. Maddox literally invited him to come take a look. Also, did he really want to see what Moloch could do bad enough that he sliced his arm open without hesitation? She also remembered that statement that Archangel brought up about Maddox, but she figured it was just shit talk.
"I can tolerate his ass since we need him. But if he pulls the same shit, I'm tearing him a new one." He looked at the mess in the kitchen. "While you're here. We need some new food supplies. I can handle that if we were at a starport or space station somewhere, but you think you can ask the Argos guys to send something over?"
