'Yet another medical person...' she thinks to herself.
"We already have like 30 billion medical people here, but the more the merrier. I'm a biologist, specializing in xeno biology. I also like theoretical physics and space stuff, but those are more hobbies. I also like video games and anime, you play or watch any?"
She gets a notification for an invite to video game on her tablet. She ignores it for now, after the convo she'll get to them and destroy those pesty plebeians and set them in their rightful place below her.
Arriving at the maintenance bay, János went over to the first alcove on the right. He found the communicator, all spanking new. He smiled, as he put it on and logged in. He quickly wrote up a message to Taylor, as he headed towards his room.
I don't know if you've spoken to Frosty yet, but I didn't get the chance to tell you that Frosty spoke to Yuga earlier when he came back, which could complicate things. Also, if Frosty wants, I could show him the footage like I showed you and what I hoped to do. If there is anyone on the ship that deserves to see it more than you, it would be him.
I also wanted to talk about something very personal to my own memory problems, so at your earlier convenience, send me a message.
Bucky turns to Mercy and smiles brightly. "Janos is a nice dude. Good to have as a friend, y'know?" She turns off the controller Janos leaves behind and picks up her own. "You wanna go a few more rounds or just chat?" She asks with palpable pep in her voice. She's a very nice sort to be around when she's actually happy, radiating a generally happy aura of glee around herself.
Mercy shrugs, setting her own controller down. "I'm fine wizh just chatting for now." She leans back a bit, stretching out, and for some reason, still in her combat gear, sans the SMG slinged by her hip.
Amelia sends a message quickly to Bucky:
I'll be there in a bit save a seat for me thx
"Well, long ago I knew a man who enjoyed playing this 'Battlefield' game, but I myself am not into those things, especially anime."
Bucky notes Amelia's message and lays back too. She's clad in her usual cozy practical clothes; a T-shirt and some shorts. "Don't think we ever actually talked before today, Mercy. It's nice to actually meet you now, you're a fun person." Bucky says, offering a compliment. "You game much? Most people usually can't scrape out even one victory against androids. Our brains may have the same intelligence as yours in a lot of cases, but we're just capable of processing faster."
Mercy shrugs once more, flashing a grin at Bucky. "Perhaps zhe cogs are just getting a bit rusty, non?" She says in jest. "I will admit, zhough, you did play well. I don't really play games zhat much, to be honest. Maybe on zhe odd occasion, wizh zhe right friends, of course."
"Well, long ago I knew a man who enjoyed playing this 'Battlefield' game, but I myself am not into those things, especially anime."
'Especially anime... bummer...' she pouts thinking to herself, "Well, it was nice talking to you Windy Man, I'm gunna do exactly those things with some friends, hope we can talk in the future! Ha det!" she gets up from her seat and sprints to Bucky's quarters. She barges in and asks, "What game we playing?"
Taylor recieved János' message, as she was preparing a fresh pot of coffee from what she could scratch together. She read over it as she poured water into the machine and set it to brew, then replied afterwards.
I've already talked to Frosty. Makes sense that he's riled up because of Yuga. Anyway, he's confined to quarters for now till he cools off. I wouldn't suggest talking to him till I do, because he looked as if he wanted to kill someone when I tried to talk to him a few minutes ago.
And I promise we'll talk about your personal thing later. Right now, I'm just worried about everything getting situated before we jump out of here and head for Ayr space to meet the bosses.
Every other member of the crew either hates or fears Moloch, and yet someone like Amelia wasn't afraid of talking to him.
He shrugged at everyone else in the mess hall as he had no idea what to think about that.
Bucky startles a little when Amelia barges in, but giggles at her. "'Roid Racers 5k23. Come on in, pick up a controller!" She exclaims.
Bucky shoots a text to Mercy through her wireless link to comms.
Wanna stick around after game night? I feel like talking more.
-Bucky
Mercy taps out a text onto her arm-computer... thing to Bucky, picking up her controller once more. "And prepare to eat my dust, madamoiselle."
Sure, sounds like it'll be fun.
-Mercy
Frosty was alone. Alone and terrified, and without even the Sermon Giver to keep him company. He sat in a corner of his cabin room trying to think of something to keep his thoughts away, but he couldn't. The following days will be hell for him, and he knew that. And it wasn't because of Moloch on board, but he could feel pieces of his past beginning to surface. If Karbala was any indication, he was no one pleasant. How the crew would find out about his past and what they'll do, it terrified him. He hated them right now but they're all he has, and anything would be better than Karbala. The thoughts of rejection worried him greatly, it would mean having to go back as he had nowhere else to go. He couldn't hold it in anymore. He felt the tears running down his face...
"'Roid Racers 5k23. Come on in, pick up a controller!" She exclaims.
"Haven't played that yet," she cracks her knuckles, "but I'll try."
She takes a seat, crossing her legs, picking up a controller. Ready for anything.
Bucky seems to just take a back seat and tries out some of the weirder and crazier racers for once. She falls behind in the races this time, Mercy effectively dominates this time around. Amelia gives as good as she gets and takes the middle of the rankings. All in all, it's an interesting time with many laughs.
Alas, it all comes to a screeching halt when Bucky realizes there are no Cheeze-byte Supernovas left to munch on!
"Middle man heck yeah. gg, gg, everyone." she bows elegantly, "seems my skills have lowered. Haven't played in a while."
The crew settled into its off-duty routines as the last needed supplies were hoisted into the cargo hold and food/alcohol was delivered to the mess. Taylor passed along to Owen that they were clear to launch, and Owen slowly increased power to the engines, allowing the craft to limp itself out of the hangar and into space. From there, he transferred control to the autopilot, allowing Argos' complicated directions to be executed without room for error, and sat back as the off-brand warp core revved up and...
January 21st, 2385:
Today is the day I finally get to meet this Muramasa crew that my employers keep talking about. I woke up to the sound of a page- Terika herself was apparently just pacing the halls on the ship talking to herself until she got me out of bed, but she won't tell me what's wrong. Not the best of signs considering the way she collapsed yesterday. Still, she says that we'll all get a good explanation in about an hour when the two ships meet up near Ayr, and she doesn't seem in poor spirits, at least. Neasha has gotten herself up and around, too, but Rask has taken a personal day to recover from what he called a "clusterfuck" in a note he left for us... I'm trying not to draw conclusions too quickly, here. My hope is for some clarity as to what exactly this company's priorities are going to be, moving forward. Oh, and on a side note, the workers from SULP arrived yesterday. We're still adjusting to the presense of workers on this ship, but hopefully this means that we'll be delivering on our promise to the Selovehans soon.

The Muramasa dropped out of warp with a shudder. Lights throughout the craft blinked on and off as the electrical systems corrected for continuous rounds of surge and brownout, and several of the less-essential computer systems restarted themselves without explanation. Neasha contacted Owen over the comm systems and helped to guide the battered craft home at last, where it set down inside one of the spacious hangars inside the Aurikha with a clumsy thump. The company's executives arrived a moment later as the ramp deployed, sans Rask, along with a few of the melora technicians from SULP.
Bucky spends a pleasant night chilling out with Mercy and Amelia. She plays a good host, and hopes she's made a pair of friends onboard the Muramasa. If anything, she's just glad to have people to just play games with at least.
------------------------
Hariim works with the doctor bots to heal as best he can, and does his damned best to get ready for the Muramasa's next adventure.
Porter stayed at Frosty's door the entire time. Not even tired.
----------
Amelia sleeps on Bucky's lap, snoring away. Oblivious.
Ahaz wanders over to Moloch. "Hey, you seem new around here. Who're you?"
Frosty looked into the mirror. His skin was getting paler and the dark circles around his eyes were getting darker. Not only that but he appeared to have developed a severe case of crow's feet, as well as other wrinkles around the eyes. He's starting to look just as bad as he feels.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Moloch was jamming out on his setar while also taking rips from his hookah. His stay on this crew was very nearly official now. So far they've reacted just as he expected: not well. Still, perhaps through time they'll be less afraid of him, even if deep down he knows sometime in the future he'll probably be working against them.
Bucky finds Amelia's choice of bed somewhat odd, but adorable regardless. She adjusts the consistency and softness of her smart matter outer layers to make her thighs more comfortable for Amelia.
Taylor managed to get some rest during the trip, as well as a shower and fresh clothes. She'd dressed her best for the time being, wearing a nice shirt and black cargoes with her military cap. Her revolver sat on her thigh, and her trench knife was tucked into her boot. She was good to go.
She looked out the window of the bridge as the ship landed in one of the massive hangars of the Aurikha with a thump. She hoped things would go well, but fully expected the worst. Especially for the ship being in the condition it was in. She clicked on the Muramasa's intercom system. "Might want to get ready. Bosses are waiting on us outside." she stated before releasing the button. She stood from her chair, then headed towards the cargo ramp.
Amelia wakes up, scratching her eyes, then notices that she's been sleeping on a well adjusted pillow of smart matter. She leaps up, wide eyes, "Uhhhhhhhh sorry about that. I was... tired," she scratches her back, looking away.
Bucky smiles at Amelia and can't help laughing. "It's alright, Amelia. I enjoyed the company overnight, really it's fine. Wanna grab some breakfast?" Her legs visibly shift back to their original shape and density. Thus reformed, she stands up and stretches her arms.
------------------------------
Hariim limps his way onto the bridge and gives Taylor a salute. "Captain. Reporting back for duty." He says crisply in his new monotone.
"Captain. Reporting back for duty."
"Shit, Hariim, what happened to your voice?" she asked, raising an eyebrow as she passed him. She motioned for him to follow as well.
Hariim limps along with Taylor. "Tried to pull a trick during the firefight in engineering. Got shot up before I could complete it, but it cost me all the same. I fused some of my remaining neurons to my implants to get a boost in processing power. Turns out the particular cluster of neurons I fused were connected to the part of my brain that handles voice tone. I will speak like this till my auto-menders find a workaround." Hariim explains, his gait is noticeably odd but he seems to be making an effort to keep up with his captain. "The medical androids have been helpful. I've got new strands of synthetic myomar muscle implanted in my legs and core; tied with my suit I should move faster than before once my motor cortex finishes integrating with them."
Yanim and Neasha were already circling around the Muramasa, instantly identifying the many, many patch jobs done to the hull and the massive structural damage which was impossible to hide. Even without reading the report, the two of them had enough expertise between them to see that the ship was in a far worse way than anything they had expected. Inside, the crew heard Yanim's voice over the comm system.
Congratulations on your survival, kadaren. It's more than I can say for the ship... You all will be grounded here on the Aurikha until further notice. Please disembark at the first opportunity.
Moloch put his setar away when the announcement was finished broadcasting. He made his way to the cargo ramp with his hookah still in hand.
"Greetings to the both of you." he said to Hariim and Taylor as he blew smoke at them.
