"Sounds...painful. But useful. I'm all organic, and plan to stay that way, hopefully." she said, glancing down at the way he was walking. She then heard Yanim's voice over the intercom, stating that they and the ship were grounded for the time being. She figured it would happen. Next up would probably be a meeting to discuss their priorities and duties and such. It had happened to her and Valk a few times before. Most of the time, it usually involved Valk getting chewed out for doing something stupid. Valk just took it in stride, grinning. Taylor, however, took everything seriously.
"Greetings to the both of you."
Taylor turned her head to get a face full of smoke. She coughed a few times, waving it out of her face. "Damn, you smoke worse than my mother." she said, squinting as the smoke burned her eyes a bit.
Hariim looks puzzled at Moloch momentarily, then seems to answer his own question by checking the backlogs. "New crew member..... Moloch? Welcome, I am Hariim M'baal; tech specialist." Hariim makes his curt introduction and keeps moving on to the exit. He calls over his shoulder: "Captain? Would you like me to assemble the crew for a meeting outside the ship? I know you haven't made your decision for XO yet, but I figure I might as well take on some of the role while there's vacancy."
"You've got the job, Hariim. Get everyone outside so that we can meet Yanim and the others." She looked back to Moloch. "...Are your quarters suitable?" she asked, folding her arms.
"Of course. I have also taken every measure in order to make them look presentable and livable by my standards."
"Good. Now you get to meet my bosses." she said, before heading off the ship and into the hangar outside.
"I certainly do hope they are nicer than your previous captain." Moloch followed Taylor outside.
"No need to call me on my holopad, Hariim. I'm already here."Alex said as he walked down the ramp behind them. "So, where are the suits?"
"Suits?" Hariim asks, already putting out the mustering call with a mental command. --------------- Bucky heeds the call and heads out to the meeting with Amelia and whoever else she meets on the way.
Seeing the first few members of the crew finally trickle out of their ruined ride, Yanim quickly circled around to the rear ramp and greeted them, Neasha trailing behind her. "Ah, captain!" she shouted, her tone difficult to read as it was neither welcoming nor hostile. "Alex, Bucky, Hariim... and you-" she said, pointing her whole arm at Moloch, "you must be the 'spook' Rask mentioned in his notes. Moloch, correct?" Without waiting for an answer, as the question was apparently rhetorical, Yanim marched past them, up the ramp, and took a look down the main corridor to gauge the severity of the internal damage. A number of open panels with clearly-bypassed wiring and plumbing revealed the truth. Shaking her head, she trotted back down the ramp toward the growing crowd. Neasha, meanwhile, introduced herself and Yanim to Moloch. "I'm not going to waste anyone's time with flowery speeches and high praise, Yanim said as she returned, a crowd of SULP laborers curiously gathering around the scene, "but I will say that you all have done as much in two weeks as I did in months of service to HarkArk, and that's more than I feel is decent to ask of anyone..." she tapped her foot for a moment, appearing jittery, as if she had a lot of things to say but wasn't sure how to approach them. "We have questions," Neasha suddenly interjected, "but we've been discussing things and they can wait for now. Make yourselves comfortable for the time being. There's not going to be any dressing down, no court martial." Yanim nodded. "Given what you had to work with, I'm sure you have some questions as well, and you have every right to have them."
"I'm sure the others probably do. Oh, and boss...when we were engaged by the Death Vigil, their leader told me to send a picture of his face to you. I had forgot to include it in the report with Rask, so here." said Taylor, pulling out her holotablet from her pocket and turning it on. She offered the tablet to Yanim, so she could see the picture.
Yuga appeared in the cargo hold, limping slightly towards Yanim. She was no longer having to use the scabbard as support as her leg had recovered enough, but still wore her coat over the shoulders due to her sling cast. "However. I have matter to discuss as soon as convenient... Namely my resignition.".
Yanim took the tablet from Taylor with curiosity. "His face?" she echoed as she looked carefully at the image. A sort of distant look settled over her. She nodded, mysteriously, and handed the tablet back to Taylor with a sigh. "Some people have no sense of decency..." she said quietly. "We'll discuss this later." Yuga approached as the two discussed and revealed her intent to resign from the company. Yanim's eyes instantly sharpened as she met Yuga's gaze. "That doesn't surprise me whatsoever," she replied.
Out from his cabin and going down the ramp into the hangar shambled Frosty, looking worse than he did when the crew reacquired him. With his face pointing downward, he didn't even bother acknowledging the presence of Yanim and the rest of the crew.
Yuga squinted in a friendly manner, "one should assume it comes as a relief for you, seing as we posses wildly diffrent ideals. Prosperous partnerships are rarely born of disagreements." She handed over a tablet with a contract that would absolve her of further relations and responsibility to the company as well as a few clauses with necessary Ayr bureaucracy, "Now would be an opportune time to inform you that Va'un will also depart with me. I have need of his abilities and loyalty in other ventures."
Vakarus emerged next to Yuga. "It is as she says, Yanim'atvan. I am thankful for the time I was given here onboard the Muramasa however I'm afraid our paths are no longer the same. I have learned much in my exile and I wish to use this knowledge to heal the wounds I caused to my people." He gestured towards Yuga. "Yuga'ayrin have promised me to help with this prospect, however untill I know for sure that I may return I will serve by her side." ----- Maddox showed up next to Frosty. "You've seen better days Frosty, you need meds or something?"
Frosty waved him off. "No, I am fine."
Jason finishes his tea and goes back to his cabin, before noticing the smell in his combat fatigues. he takes a quick shower before coming out with this, before going outside and wandering off again. hoping to find another conversation to land on. ((The hood is pulled down, and the facemask is not included))
Maddox nodded. "Alright." The gunsmith then approached Alex. "I'd like to apologize for what happened the other day. I don't expect you to believe me, so you'd have to take my word for it, but I would never intentionally endanger anyone in the crew."
As Yanim listened to Yuga and Vakarus, she became less agitated. Vakarus had been a part of her circle since just after the Battle of Zeruel, since even before the company purchased the Muramasa. She had always known that he would someday need to return to his homeworld, but she didn't know when or how it would happen. "As sad as it is to see you go, Vakarus, I'm grateful that you've chosen to do so before suffering any permanent injury in my service. You deserve that much; you've been a true ally and I thank you for all you've done." Yanim took the tablet from Yuga and synced it to her implant, quickly scanning the agreement before signing it indifferently. As she handed it back to Yuga, she paused for a moment, reflecting on what Vakarus had said. Glancing quickly in the vak'r's direction, Yanim told Yuga- "stay true to your word." ...and out of my way, Yanim thought, knowing that Yuga would hear it. Having spotted Frosty, Yanim brushed by, walking directly to the pilot, who looked as if he had been wrung-out like a wet cloth, devoid of energy. After sizing him up, impressed with Moloch's achievement in rescuing the man's life, Yanim gave him a simple direction. "When you feel ready, tell me what you think should be done," she said. "We're going to focus on procurement during the next few days," Neasha announced, having said her own goodbyes to Vakarus while Yanim had moved on. "We've got plenty of room in the budget right now, and more on the way thanks to the Mercenary's Insurance Corporation of Trixina... Rask filed a claim yesterday on the Muramasa and the way I see it, it's a fair shot they're going to total the old bird. It's a shame, that ship was my home... but that's how these things work..." Neasha shook herself out of her self-pity. "Anyway, we'd like each of you to record three items you'd like to have for future missions and we'll do our best to make it happen."
Before Yanim walked off towards Frosty Vakarus bowed. "Adaan avok, Yanim'atvan." Honor to your house. He bowed towards Neasha. "Scaled one, noviik ulaak erok." May the Gods illuminate your path. Vakarus then turned to Yuga. "If you'll excuse me Yuga'ayrin I will now collect my belongings and say goodbye to the rest of the crew."
After hearing Yanim speak to him, Frosty followed in her general direction. He waited until they were out of earshot from the rest of the crew to tell her. "In all honesty, I think Janos ought to be punished. He convinced the rest of the crew to stand down and let Moloch abduct me instead of fighting to keep a fellow crew member. My contributions to this crew might not have been a whole lot perhaps, but not standing up for a fellow friend is highly disgraceful in my opinion." he whispered to her.
Yanim nodded. "This was more than just an individual failure," she replied, "but going by the information that I've been provided, János took it upon himself to manipulate the crew, and for reasons I cannot condone. I specifically ordered the crew to recover your body. The fact that you survived your wreck was nothing short of miraculous, and that's not a word I keep in my daily vocabulary... Your survival should have galvanized the crew's will to recover you. I apologize for what happened. There'll be restitution, I can assure you."
I'd like to apologize for what happened the other day. I don't expect you to believe me, so you'd have to take my word for it, but I would never intentionally endanger anyone in the crew
Alex looked at Maddox with the same expresion he had given to multiple people in the past for different reasons. "I dont know if you picked up on it, but we are not friends. We, were never friends. Your type of bullsit you can save for someone who still believes you." Before stepping away from him Alex said one more thing. "Oh, I know you probably still keep in contact with Sol buddies. Tell them this. They can take their honorary Sol citizenship and they can shove it. I dont want it and I dont need it." Alex walked away from Maddox, not wanting to look at the mercenary any longer than he had to. What he wanted to do however is talk to a friend before he left. "So this is it, huh? Just a goodbye?"
"Thank you, Yanim. Though you yourself don't need to apologize. If Janos simply had a spine and said no, this wouldn't have happened." replied Frosty.
Yanim brushed past Yuga and pressed the tablet to her chest. Yuga glanced over her shoulder at Yanim, As you wish. She put the tablet into her chest, which was floating due to it's gravity disks to assist in it's movements. She noticed Vakarus talking to her and walking off. He was free the go off and say farewell to the crew. Yuga wouldn't bother with that, seeing as anyone she'd bother saying goodbye to she had already done or they were currently in the cargo bay. She studied Yanim who was discussing with Frosty while releasing a vapor cloud from compass. She then used the compass to signal the ISF station of her region to request a shuttle to the Aurikha, which would arrive shortly.
Maddox shrugged. "Can't blame a guy for trying." ----- Vakarus turned around to face Alex. "Of course not Alex'vakrin." Vakarus then opened one of the pockets on his leather belt and grabbed something. He reached out towards Alex and opened the hand, revealing a golden medallion with a blue crystal. "This is my gift for you, the Light of Adanis. Once a Vakr reaches adulthood they are given these by their house. The crystal is charged with immense psionic powers which we use to gain strength during difficult times." He handed over the crystal to Alex. "During my time onboard the ship I have transferred new energy into the crystal after every meal and meditation. If you ever need a helping hand or a guiding light this crystal will provide for you." Vakarus smiled. "I hope that our paths might cross again one day, if you ever come to visit Adanis you will be treated as a friend as long as you wear that crystal."
Alex took the medalion. After examening it, he put it in the pocket of his jacket. "I'll keep this close, Vak. Thank you. For everything." He extended a hand to Vakarus one more time. Both men sealed the deal with a forearm clasp, not breaking eye contact. No words were needed. "Stay safe, friend." Alex finnally broke the silence.
Vakarus smiled and bowed his head. "Honor to house Koronov, friend." The Vakr warrior then left to collect his belongings inside his cabin. After gathering his items he went to the sparring room and grabbed one of his training staffs. The rest would remain on the ship. He then walked down the ramp and approached Frosty. "Frozen-One." Began Vakarus as he bowed. "I am glad to see that you have returned to us. It pained me greatly when one of the constructs wanted to give your body away. I was afraid that the gods would not be able to locate your spirit."
Frosty turned to Vakarus, wiping off the angry scowl on his face as he wasn't angry at him unlike the rest of the crew. "That construct will get what's coming to him, Vakarus. A dishonorable act like that will not go without retribution. But, it pains me to see you go as well. I remember you were the first of the crew to talk to me, the only one other than Yuga who stood for me when Moloch came, as well as the one who unfroze me. I wish I could express my gratitude with more than just words, but i'll always remember you for that."
Taylor stood nearby, simply watching the others with her arms folded. So Yuga and Vakarus were leaving. She was pretty happy that Yuga was departing, but it was sad to see Vakarus go. From what she had seen, he had been a pretty great gunner and all-around person. She would have liked to have got to know him better. She glanced over and watched Alex and Mad briefly talk, as well as Frosty talk to Yanim. Probably about Janos and what happened. She continued watching, as Alex then talked to Vakarus, giving one another a warrior's handshake one last time. Two must have been close. Taylor straightened up a bit, unfolding her arms and slipping her hands into her pockets. Well, two crew that would have to be replaced. They needed a navigator, and Jason could fill in for Vakarus...though they also needed some more engineers to take the load off of Bucky. She looked on as Vakarus moved on to Frosty, shifting her stance.
