Starpath: Scoundrels of the Interstellar Highway - Thread 2

Maddox heard the words coming from Archangel but at the same time Taylor would be better off if Mad didn't accidently hit her.
He took a knee and engaged one of the vultures still standing.
"Either you are naive enough to believe what you just said, or you are an expert bullshit seller. Another question. What do you know about your employer? Her past. Her plans. Anything she has in store for you? Why this box is worth you risking your lives for? Is none of this worth questioning, Caine?"

Anything she has in store for you? Why this box is worth you risking your lives for? Is none of this worth questioning, Caine?"
"Oh, I know who she is. And I know what her plans are. Do I question it? Yes, actually." said Taylor, mulling over the past two missions. Fighting against the mafia and the UGC. Killing peacekeepers. Watching those she could call friends die. Probably earning a bounty because of their actions on Voyak. "But right now, I'm not worried about it at all. Right now, I'm worried about killing you and the other Death Vigil that just boarded my ship and attacked my crew. Trying to stop us from finishing our job." she continued finally, "...I fully intend to finish this job and deliver that Archive. And I'll do it over your corpse."
Markus tilted his head, "The small guy gets to fight two and you fight one lil' soap dropper."
He tightened his fists and put them into a boxing stance, "Well come over then so I can show you and yer overgrown refrigerator suit to the scrapheap, cunt."
"A tip, Caine. Fighting to the bitter end only ends with your body being a broken shell of its former self."
---
"Ohhohoho! This is precious!" Dio chuckled. "You expect to beat me with this skinny punch clock bootlicker? Very well, I shall humor you." "Time to teach you the Pecking Order around here." Dio smirked as he held two handful of knifes.
The small guy gets to fight two and you fight one lil' soap dropper.
"I count those as 2/6 of a person each, so he should be fine. You fat boy. You're clearly 5/6 of paerson." Nathaniel readied himself to continue the fight.
"A tip, Caine. Fighting to the bitter end only ends with your body being a broken shell of its former self."
"Guess that's how you ended up as a robot?" said Taylor, grunting a bit. This was taking too long and getting nowhere. She had to do something. She began looking for opportunities to counter his grip. Her hand-to-hand training taught to go for the limbs. Joints. Then, work towards the body. She glanced down, towards his knees. Perfect targets. She'd pop him in the knee with a kick, and deliver a few blows to his body and head. She had to wait till she could catch him off guard, though.
Guess that's how you ended up as a robot?
"I guess you can say that. Perhaps you'd want to join me in glorious machinedom then?"
---
"Underestimating I, Dio? By the time I'm done with you and your mooks, you'll be on your knees praying to God. But spoiler, I wouldn't be listening."
Nathaniel glanced at Dio."1/6 of a person it is."
"Okay.. Recoil and zero gravity does NOT mix."
Jason said after spinning multiple times after firing his MAWS LMG, The recoil of it is too much for Jason to handle coupled with zero gravity which made him go a couple feet backward, after stopping near the armory's wall, he sees the DV Merc that's near the door where the injured are.
"Hey! Back off that door pal!"
"I guess you can say that. Perhaps you'd want to join me in glorious machinedom then?"
"You sound like those Transsentience fucks." she muttered. "I like being organic, thanks."
"Shame. You have potential. Strong will. Exeptional combat abilities. Tactical awareness could use some work, but you're getting there. The Executor could have used someone like you."
"Shame. You have potential. Strong will. Exceptional combat abilities. Tactical awareness could use some work, but you're getting there. The Executor could have used someone like you."
"Sorry to disappoint, then." she said finally, before acting on her plan. She attempted to strike at Archangel's knee, delivering a forward kick aimed at where his kneecap would be. If it connected, hopefully it'd at least knock him off balance. And if she was lucky, shatter his knee joint. If everything worked out as planned, she'd follow up with some quick body blows and a few smacks to the head.
"This concersation was going nowhere anyway." Archangel's helmet parts extended out of his suit back into place. The eyes of it turned to glow red as if with malice, staring into his oponent.
The Heavy vultures turned their attention back to Porter.
Porter unloads both shells into one of the heavy vultures. If that succeeds, he will use his thrusts on his legs to charge at the other heavy vulture and try to beat the shit out of his skull with the butt of the shotgun.
Jag, getting an moment of pace, quickly uses up a can of quick cement onto the cracks of it's outer shell.
Hoping get them sealed before propel itself into the two Heavily armored vultures.
(("I know a guy on the other side of the allignment spectrum who could have used someone like you" cliche. +1))

Dio grinned at Nathaniel's continued taunting. "Time to teach you the Pecking Order around here," he replied. The two sides lunged at each other in melee, Nathaniel grappling with Markus while his Vulture underling aimed for Dio.
Markus:
CH Estimate: 1/2
Actual: 1
Roll Failed.
Nathaniel's armored body slammed into Markus and the two tumbled end over end in the struggle. Markus tried to pin his enemy down so that Silvia could intervene, but as they came around, Nathaniel overpowered Markus and hurled him into the ceiling. Nathaniel continued rolling back onto his feet, where he re-activated his kinetic boots to regain traction before throwing a crippling backhand punch.
Nathaniel: 8 x 2(Conviction) = 16
Markus: DEF Roll = 5
11 DMG
Markus HP: 163/156 (Nanosurgeon)
Markus was staggered, slipping across the smooth floor before finally catching himself on the wall. At the same time, he watched as Dio hlet his handfuls of knives rip at the other Vulture opponent. The latter was in mid-flight, a blur of shadow in the dark.
CH Estimate: 1/4 x 3(Impaler)
Actual: 1
Roll Failed.
The Vulture spun in the air, having spun off his heels before the jump. Dio mistook the angle of his body and missed entirely with both handfuls, shocked that the enemy could predict his technique so well. The Vulture crashed into him, driving his knee into Dio's face.
Vulture 12: 8 x (No Feat Applicable) = 8
Dio: DEF Roll = 3
5 DMG
Dio HP: 115/100 (Nanosurgeon)
At the last moment, Dio got his arms in front of his face and caught the enemy's rising attack. He avoided having his nose caved in, but it still hurt him and the transference of force caused him to fly into the ceiling. He rolled and flipped over, until he was facing the enemy once again turned upside-down. Silvia had witnessed both attacks, and prioritized the threat which was actually coming for her. Pulling her bowstring back, she jumped into the air and let fire a blast of pink plasma.
Silvia: 4 x 1.5 x 1.5(Airmobility) = 9 DMG
The Vulture took the blast with a grunt, sliding backwards a bit but ultimately shaking the pain off as he charged in again. Beads of sweat began to rise in the stale air as the atmospheric temperature began to rise steadily. Hardly anyone paid it mind. Behind Nathaniel, the enemy raised their weapons to fire on Hariim, but the hacker had one spectacular trick left up his sleeve, and was counting on Bucky's help to unleash it.
Hariim + Bucky:
CH Estimate: 1/3 + 1/3 = 2/3, 1/3, 1/3 (Multitasking)
Actual: {1, 1, 1}
It was a lost cause! A thousand- no, a million points of data were transferred in the blink of an eye between the two artificial minds, and yet the pull of the enemy's trigger was faster!
Vulture 6: 4 x 3(Conviction) = 12
Vultures 13 and 14: {3, 3} x 2(Conviction) = {6, 6}
Hariim: DEF Rolls = {3, 1, 4}
16 DMG (Mitigated... 10 DMG)
Hariim HP: 0/0
Incapacitated.
Hariim was blasted several more times by his opponents, who made sure that their shots neutralized him without killing him. The remaining light Vultures thus turned their attention to Bucky while the heavies focused on Porter. Having just witnessed his ally get swatted down, Porter wasn't in the mood to fuck around.
Porter: {9, 7} x (No Feat Applicable) = {9, 7}
Enemy Incapacitated.
Vultures 11: 5 x (No Feat Applicable) = 5
Porter: DEF Rolls = 4
1 DMG
Porter HP: 119/100 (Nanosurgeon)
The immense security officer barely flinched as the first Heavy Vulture returned fire on him, the slugs simply ricocheting off of him as he slammed his shotgun so hard into the other heavy that the helmet was dented by the impact. A powerful rattle resonated inside of the trooper's skull as he was knocked unconscious and hurled across the room like a ragdoll. It wasn't flashy, and there weren't any one-liners to dress up the moment. Porter was just fucking pissed.
---
Back in the Armory, Jag pulled out a can of repair cement to fix its outer shell, trying to keep itself in the thick of the fight. Regardless of whether it would work or not, it needed to keep the pressure on the Heavy vultures while the captain was locked in a struggle with the enemy's leader.
Jag:
CH Estimate: 3/5
Actual: 5
Roll Passed.
Jag HP +20
50/50
However, in the time it took to apply this healing compound, the enemies closed the gap instead, attacking the sanghvi before it was fully ready, whipping their stun batons at it with brutal force.
Heavy Vulture 1: 7 x 2(Conviction) = 14
Heavy Vulture 2: 3 x 3(Conviction) = 9
Jag: DEF Rolls = {2, 5}
16 DMG
Jag HP: 34/50
The batons crashed into the alien's body, nearly undoing all the work the cement had done moments earlier, but Jag remained resolute and responded with a massive, sweeping set of blows against both of the enemy mercenaries. One of Jag's appendages caught a Heavy Vulture in between armor plates, in the rear of his knee- it cut through the weak point in the armor and just completely tore the leg off.
Enemy Neutralized (Dismemberment)
Jag: 1 x 1.5 x Dismemberment(CH1/2, 2, Passed, x2) = 3 DMG
The heavy caught Jag's attack and parried it, knocking the sanghvi back without dealing damage. The two foes continued their melee in disregard of the other heavy's pained screaming. With Taylor and Archangel still in a deadlock, it was up to the crews to fight their own battles. János, for example, was ready to face down his own opponent one-on-one, and began by rapidly disassembling his gun into a smaller form factor. The enemy stared for a moment in confusion as the heavier SMG parts went floating into the air before realizing what was happening- the two of them then fired at the same time.
Vulture 3: 3 x 3(Conviction) = 9
János: DEF Roll = 2
7 DMG
János HP: 76/79
János: 9 x 1.25(Machinist) = 11.25... 11 DMG
The android took the shot and slid backwards on his heels before straightening up and shouldering his weapon. Only then did the opposing Vulture realize that his opponent, whom he had thought was simply an unarmored human in the dim light, was actually a robot, and he was very, very fucked. János pulled the trigger and a bullet struck the enemy through the jaw and out the back of his neck. It was a far more gruesome outcome than János likely intended.
Enemy Eliminated.
At that moment, Jason was still flipping through the air, until he caught himself on the rear wall of the room. From this angle, he and Vulture 5 were standing on the same surface. Pointing his gun at the enemy, Jason demanded that he let go of the door. The Vulture complied, only to reach for his weapon instead. Jason had the jump on him, but Vulture 4 had the drop on Jason.
Vulture 4: 8 x (No Feat Applicable) = 8
Jason: DEF Roll = 2
6 DMG
Jason HP: 114/100 (Nanosurgeon)
Jason: 7 x 1.25(Machinist) = 8.75... 9 DMG
Vulture 5: 1 x (No Feat Applicable) = 1
Jason: DEF Roll = 1
No Damage.
In quick succession, a Vulture fired at Jason, winging him with a slug while Jason fired his MAWS at another, the bullets piercing the enemy's armor as he tried to attack Jason on the quick-draw. Instead, the Vulture clinched in pain and fired into the wall instead. Right after that, the captain and her opponent suddenly broke from their lock as Taylor attempted a powerful kick to the knee, trying to break the joint:
CH Estimate: 3/5
Actual: 1
Roll Failed.
Taylor: 4 x 1.25(Machinist) = 5 DMG
Taylor's blow didn't do too much to damage the android's leg, and he responded by gaining leverage and throwing the captain to the ground mercilessly before striking at her several times.
Archangel: 8 x 2(Merner's-Strike) = 16
Taylor: DEF Roll = 7
9 DMG
Taylor HP: 70/125
The blows were so powerful, it felt as if Taylor were being pummeled in the abdomen by a bare-knuckle fighter without the help of any armor whatsoever. She struggled and eventually broke free, staggering back onto her feet. She was out of breath. Everyone was out of breath aside from the androids. The ship was becoming more dangerous by the minute...
1 Turn Until End of Battle
Markus began to experience tunnel vision, his sights exclusively set on Nathaniel.
Feeling the effects of the ever increasing weightlessness, Markus hopped back and used his legs to rocket himself off the wall toward his new adversary.
Re-directing his angle as he sailed through the air, he aimed to hit Nathaniel square in the chest with both his feet, while letting out an enraged scream.
"Damn, thought that would have worked." said Taylor, with a cough as she stood up. Her suit's self-contained life support system must have been on the fritz, because the air she was breathing seemed to be a bit stale. She took a few breaths, then got back into a fighting stance. She was sore, the suit barely doing anything to stop the blows from this DV android. She hoped that backup would show up soon, otherwise they'd all be dead soon.
"You know...there's actually something really funny about all of this. You wanna know what it is?" said Taylor, as she inched forwards a bit with her fists raised.
((You forgot Maddox again. :weeb:))
"That you still believe that you can win this fight?"
[editline]1st November 2016[/editline]
((You forgot Maddox again. :weeb:))
[He's a spy. So good at his job, that even the GM doesnt know he's there.]
((Maddox just went to get a sandwich, just wait))
"That you still believe that you can win this fight?"
Taylor grunted, but continued. "What's funny about all of this is that you're still clueless about something pretty important. Notice something missing since you've been aboard?" She couldn't help but smile as she said what came next. "You've been duped. The Archive was never here in the first place. You got the wrong fucking ship, and we've been stalling you so that the REAL ship can get away." she said.
Specter looked at the scans as they were being complete. The results made him widen his eyes in surprise. "Uh, boss. You're not going to like this."
"The Archive isnt on board?"
"Yeah. That."
"I know. The captain just told me."
"What are gonna do now?"
"We are going to rip them apart."
---
Archangel started to laugh. Starting from a light chuckle to an uncontrolable laughter. Again, each ha becoming more and more robotic. He suddenly stopped. "You're right. That is funny. You know what else is funny? My exact order. Let me tell it to you. The crew guarding the Archive are to be let broken, bleeding, but not dead." During his deadlock with Taylor, the blade had been retracted back into its position in his armor. Now it emerged again. "You just signed your own death warrant. But hey, look on the bright side. If your suit has a fancy memory core, you as a fighter might be saved somehow. I could use a mechanical bride by my side."

The android moved in closer to strike. This time he would not be holding back.
All over the ship, the remaining vultures recieved the same thing. "No kill order isnt in affect anymore. Go crazy"
The Heavy engaged with Jag swung his batton again. It wasnt much against the rock hard skin, but he didnt care at this point. This thing was going to pay.
The Vulture engaged with Jason didnt hesitate to try and put the man down. He aimed his shots and fired.
One of the two vultures engaged with Maddox realinged her sights on János. She used the wall to launch herself with the thrusters of her boots towards the android, knife drawn aiming to jam it deep into him. The other was still engaged with Maddox, aiming to put him down for good.
Vulture 5 was still observing the carnage when she heard the door behind her open. Maybe it was the frustration of feeling useless in this fight or the brotherly instinct overriding his commons sense (maybe both), but Alex was standing behind the mercenary, armed with the cutlass that Valk had bought. He jammed the blade into the back of the vulture, aiming for the spine, pushing it in as deep as he could. The door closing right behind him as he did so. [Using 'Contender' for this]
---
"Ha! So he actually saw it my way!" Nathaniel thought as he recieved the order. Noticing Markus trying to attack him once again, the mercenary prepared to grab him in mid flight. He was going to redirect the convict in such a way that he would smash his head into the metal walls.
The vulture engaged with Dio wasnt one for fair game. He pulled out his side arm and aimed at his knees. The bitch with the bow and arrow was next.
The last remaining Heavy recoverered from the shock of seeing his friend getting his head caved in. At close range the rifle wasnt going to do much for him. So mellee it was. That gasmask looked important. He transfered power to the thrusters in his boots and aimed his knee towards Porter's face.
The rest of the vultures turned their attention to Bucky. A few of them let out sadistic laughs as they realized who their prey was. Two of them actually shot towards her while the rest watched. They were going to have some fun with this one.
"You just signed your own death warrant. But hey, look on the bright side. If your suit has a fancy memory core, you as a fighter might be saved somehow. I could use a mechanical bride by my side."
"Crushing hard, aren't we?" she said with a chuckle, before leaning down and detaching her trench knife from the side of her right boot. He had a blade, and now she had one too. "Well, lets tango." she said finally before moving in as she flipped the blade around in her hand. They had to end this, and end it now. As he moved in, she struck first, reaching out to grab his blade hand and preparing to slam the knuckles of the trench knife into his elbow joint.
János did not expect to give that Vulture such a gruesome death. He looked a bit unnerved at the sight, before snapping himself out of it. As he did, he noticed that another Vulture was flying his way, knife drawn in hand. He quickly tried to get out of the way, whilst also firing his MAWS at them.
Jag dash towards the right of the heavy vulture, using its appendages to latch onto his heavy armor. Hoping to send the vulture crashing into the wall of the armory wall While It begin attacking his back. Using its strength to send its arm straight into the vulture's spine.
The fight was coming to an end, one way or another. The air was thin and fighters on both sides were getting tunnel vision. Maddox, hands shaking, wasn't willing to risk shooting Taylor while trying to bring down Archangel... not that the latter was anywhere close to being brought down. Dropping to his knee to better stabilize himself, he brought his sights in line with the remaining lightly-armed Vultures.
Maddox: {2, 1, 10, 7} x 1.25(Machinist) = {2.5... 3, 1.25... 1, 12.5... 13, 8.75... 9}
The MAWS dealt a round of punishment against the four Vultures, but the effect was uneven; Maddox's aim was initially very poor until he tightened his grip. The last of the ammunition in the magazine was spent. He began to reload his gun, feeling like his surroundings were in slow motion, as Jag lunged on the remaining Heavy Vulture.
Jag: 4 x 1.5 x Dismemberment(CH1/2, 1, Failed) = 6 DMG
The sanghvi slammed its opponent into the wall before pulling back, throwing a powerful punch at the Vulture's back. However, the enemy suddenly broke loose from Jag's grip, sliding out of the way in the weightless environment. He planted his foot as Archangel announced the change in "policy," and swung hard for Jag's head.
Heavy Vulture 1: 8 x 2(Conviction) = 16
Jag: DEF Roll = 3
13 DMG
Jag HP: 21/50
The impact could be heard all the way in Engineering as the baton cracked against the sanghvi's head. Meanwhile, the Vultures followed their assignments and attacked their separate targets. Despite his high profile, Maddox was spared a heavy response and was only attacked by one of the two who had assaulted him before.
Vulture 2: 9 x 3(Conviction) = 27
Maddox: DEF Roll = 3
24 DMG
Maddox HP: 110/156
A particularly well-placed shot sent a slug directly into Maddox's helmet, which held up to the impact but rocked the merc's head back painfully. Maddox briefly fumbled his weapon, but as soon as he had regained his senses he grabbed it out of the air and finished reloading it. Another Vulture dove at János, attempting to avenge her lost comrade. As she floated forward, János dove into the air to escape.
Vulture 1:
CH Estimate: 1/2
Actual: 2
Roll Passed.
Vulture 1: 3 x 3(Conviction) = 9
János: DEF Roll = 2
7 DMG
János HP: 69/79
János failed to escape in time, and as a result, he was stabbed in the abdomen. He was forced to fire back at point blank, and, out of fear of mauling another enemy, intentionally aimed for her torso instead of her head.
János: 8 x 1.25(Machinist) = 10 DMG
The blast from the MAWS sent the Vulture flying back toward the wall, a stream of blood trailing her like a ribbon. She was still alive, but barely so- another shot like that would kill her. Another Vulture was prepping another shot for Jason, and smiled, almost euphoric from the thin air, hoping to decapitate his enemy with a shotgun blast.
Vulture 4: 6 x (No Feat Applicable) = 6
Jason: DEF Roll = 2
4 DMG
Jason HP: 110/100 (Nanosurgeon)
Of course, he was overestimating his own abilities. A fleck of metal hit Jason square in the chest, but the majority of the shot missed him completely. Jason responded immediately:
Jason (Auto Roll): 10 + 1(Assault) x 1.25(Machinist) = 13.75... 14 DMG
A much better string of shots struck the Vulture across the body and arms, badly wounding him. Jason had learned from his previous mistake and had properly braced himself this time. Maddox had also risen from the ground and once again opened fire with his MAWS.
Maddox: {8, 2, 9, 8} x 1.25(Machinist) = {10, 2.5... 3, 11.25... 11, 10}
Once again, Maddox displayed his proficiency by placing his shots right on target, pounding the enemy with lead and driving them closer to destruction. Gradually, the Muramasa crew was retaking the initiative, but by this point, it might have been too late to save the ship... Another Vulture, having just fired a shot into the wall, was about to re-enter the fight against Jason when Alex suddenly emerged from the locked room and drove Valkyrie's cutlass into him!
Alex: 8 x 1.5(Contender) + 15(Contender) = 27 DMG
The blade, backed by Alex's raw physical power, broke through the Vulture's armor and deep into his chest cavity, piercing a lung. The Vulture cried out in agony as Alex kicked him away while pulling the blade free, sending him bounding through the room with a splash of blood.
Enemy Neutralized.
Archangel was ready to put an end to Taylor as she pulled a trench knife out and readied herself. He attacked aggressively, but Taylor was preparing to parry his attack, rather than stabbing with the knife. Given that a robotic opponent would be less vulnerable to a knife attack than a human, it shouldn't have come as a surprise that she opted for the brass knuckles instead, and yet it was-
Taylor:
CH Estimate: 3/4
Actual: 2
Roll Passed.
Taylor: 10 x 1.25(Machinist) x Crit(CH1/2, 2, Passed, x2) = 25 DMG
With a stunning maneuver, Taylor grasped the android by his forearm, stopping the attack as it came and crashing her brass knuckles into the crook of his elbow from above, with so much force behind it that the robot's arm buckled and the joint was smashed and bent- useless! With another punch, this time to the face, Archangel staggered backwards.
---
Markus's yell echoed through the eerie passages of the ship as he dove toward Nathaniel, his legs poised to hit the enemy in his chest. But Taylor wasn't the only one preparing to parry their enemy. Nathaniel moved to receive the attack:
CH Estimate: 2/3
Actual: 1
Roll Failed.
Markus: 10 x (No Feat Applicable) = 10 DMG
Markus slipped through Nathaniel's grasp and his kick landed with full force. Nathaniel was knocked back into Engineering, his heavy armor scraping the metal surfaces of the floor and walls as he tumbled. Markus bounced back into the hall, floating through the air as the nearby Vulture pulled his pistol and fired at Dio's legs.
Vulture 12: 1 x (No Feat Applicable) = 1
Dio: DEF Roll = 4
No Damage.
The Vulture pulled the trigger just as Dio threw another set of knives at him with a spin, trying something a bit more tricky this time. The maneuver worked, and the knives pelted the Vulture all over his body.
Dio:
CH Estimate: 1/3 x 3(Impaler) = 1
Roll Passed.
9 x 1.5 x 2(Impaler) = 27 DMG
The Vulture was perforated, and blood splattered in every direction as he struggled, trying to pull the knives out and retreat before Dio could throw any more. But while he stumbled, Silvia was readying another bolt of plasma for him.
Silvia: 1 x 1.5 x 1.5(Airmobility) = 2.25... 2 DMG
She narrowly missed, barely singing the Vulture as he pulled the last of the knives out of himself. Back in the workshop, the last heavy lunged at Porter with a rising knee, trying to utilize the low gravity to produce a powerful hit.
Heavy Vulture 3: 2 x 3(Conviction) = 6
Porter: DEF Roll = 9
No Damage.
Porter (Auto Roll): 6 x (No Feat Applicable) = 6 DMG
As the Heavy Vulture launched into the air, Porter ducked to the right and grabbed him, suplexing him to the ground. Meanwhile, the other Vultures began to fire on Bucky.
Vultures 11 and 15: {4, 2} x (No Feat Applicable) = 6
Vultures 12, 13, and 14: {8, 5, 2} x 2(Conviction) = {16, 10, 4}
Vulture 6: 4 x 3(Conviction) = 12
Bucky: DEF Rolls = {6, 7, 4, 5, 2}
24 DMG
Bucky HP: 46/50
Bucky's robotic frame took numerous shots, but she was quite durable underneath the skin. Having finished reloading her bolt pistol, she took aim against a number of her foes.
Bucky (Auto Roll): {3, 7, 3, 7} x 1.25 = {3.75... 4, 8.75... 9, 3.75... 4, 8.75... 9}
The bolts did their work, exploding and causing damage to the armor of the enemy Vultures, with one notable success- a bolt embedded itself in the chest plate of one of the mercenaries and exploded, tearing a hole into his chest in the process. The Vulture dropped his weapon with a shout and curled up on himself, unable to fight any further.

The air was too thin. Sweat and blood were saturating the air throughout the ship, and debris from the earlier explosions was now circulating in the halls thanks to the lack of gravity. Alarms began to sound in the ears of the Vultures that the Muramasa was no longer life-sustaining, and Taylor's suit was now warning her of a leak in her personal atmosphere, caused by one of the Vultures' earlier attacks. At this point, the Death Vigil could win simply by setting the ship adrift in the void of space; the crew would be left without power or life support, unable to call for help.
Unbeknownst to them, help was already on the way.
░░▒▒▒▓▓▓▓//... Mur«▒▒▒▓▒░ Muramasa crew, do yo┐ read? This is ▒▒▒nged Vigilance. We are intervening on your behalf... If you are still alive in there, we are coming to get you.
Outside, the Winged Vigilance, an Argos merchant ship with a large cargo bay and heavy rail guns was flanked by three frigates, all having just exited warp. Each began to pound the Starving Buzzard with sensory-jamming projectiles as a warning to disengage from the Muramasa. Of course, they had enough combined firepower to waste the enemy in one go, but this would finish off their allies, an unacceptable outcome. Argos would thus negotiate- by force. Elsewhere, the Archive was recovered from the Sparrowhawk and warped away, safe in Argos hands.
Archangel stumbled back and looked at his damaged arm. Then back at Taylor. "You'll pay for that. I dont need both arms to make you my bitch!" He said as he started to move forward. He stopped when Specter started yelling over the comms.
"Boss! We got to get out of here! Remember the fuckers we pissed off at the asteroid base? They are here and currently pounding the ship! It's a not so subtle way of telling us to fuck off! Now take yor shiny metal ass and get the fuck out of there!"
Something in Archangel wanted to keep the combat going. To continue his onslaught. But the robot's logic managed to surpress any "desires" to keep going. The Archive wasnt on the ship. The crew had managed to not only delay them, but force them into a humliating defeat. "All units! Disengage with the enemy! We are leaving this shitbucket! I repeat. We are leaving! If you arent at the tunnel in 90 seconds, I'm leaving you to their mercy!" His gaze never left his oponent. Using his functional hand he reached for his belt and grabbed the flashbang he hadnt used in the begining of the fight. "Enjoy your victory, Caine and pray to whatever power you believe in that we dont cross paths again." He tossed the flashbang and turned around towards the exit of the room. Using the thrusters of his suit to move through the damaged ship.
The other Vultures in the armory who could follow their leader did so. Meanwhile in engineering, Nathaniel had gotten back up on his feet and started rallying his men to retreat. He eyed markus as he was leaving. "This isnt over, shitbag! I'll be comming for you later."
Moments later, the Buzzard was being filled with fleeing mercenaries. The chaos that erupted from the sudden retreat made some of the men lose their footing, trip and fall over. There was no time to grab the wounded and dying. Those would be left to the mercy of the Muramasa's crew. After several more hits, Specter detached the tunnel from the ship and prepared the ship for warp jump.
"Hope you guys are ready for this, because we are getting the fuck out!" And just like that. They left the system. Battered, bruised, humiliated and ultimately, failing their mission.
At first, the sensation felt like a hurricane was brewing in the vast emptiness of space infront of the Muramasa, like space itself was being swept away and pulled into it's center. The stars were going out as a formless mass began to appear, obscuring their light. Something big was forming itself right before the crew's very eyes, and it kept growing. Reality looked like if it was tearing itself apart to let whatever was coming through inside.
And then the Shaitan finally came through, slowly turning around to face the Muramasa.

The first thing that was seen were these two massive engines glowing brightly like a pair of eyes, staring at whatever might be behind the Shaitan. Tubes that pulsated red ran along the underside of it's belly, like veins carrying blood to a heart. The armor plating surrounding it was sleek and were polished black to the point where the empty space appeared significantly brighter. Spikes with what appeared to be corpses and parts of smaller ships skewered on them jutted from the bow. Flak and plasma cannons of various sizes dotted all sides of the ship, pointing in every direction. Spikes with what appeared to be corpses and parts of smaller ships impaled on them jutted from the bow. In the center of the bow was a large hole which looked deep enough to go on forever, with only the darkness of it being interrupted by a barely visible red dot at it's center. The most defining feature however was the strange writing that were on the port and starboard sides. In the Artisynth tongue, it read: "In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful. Let this refuge of our people never fall."
This was the Shaitan. The barbed lash of the Children of God. It was large enough that it easily dwarfed the Muramasa, as well as the Argos ships that came to it's aid. Enough Artisynth were on board that if one died, two could easily replace them. Enough weaponry was on board to make even the stars beg for their lives. It was certainly enough to make the Muramasa feel as if it was staring down the barrel of a gun.
Moloch's ancient voice came through on the intercom.
"A fair and formal greetings to you all. We come in peace and bearing an offering. Would the captain of the Muramasa respond?"
The air in Taylor's suit started to get thinner and thinner, as a warning flashed in the corner of her HUD. A leak in her suit's life support system. SHIT. She wouldn't last long if that didn't get patched up soon or she found some oxygen. She looked to the others in the room. "Mad, Jag, János, head to engineering and get everyone there into the training room here with the others. If you can find any portable emergency oxygen tanks, use 'em on those that need 'em. Hurry. Jason, finish off the wounded DV, then get into the training room and check the others." she said, handing out orders as quickly as she could as she attached her trench knife back to her boot.
She then heard the sound of the comms system, echoing through the ship. Someone was hailing them. She had to get to the bridge to check it out. "I gotta head to the bridge. Looks like rescue might be here." she said, starting to take short breaths to make her oxygen last a bit longer. She disengaged her gravity boots, and used the small thrusters to propel herself forwards and out of the armory. She flew through the ship, dodging debris and rounding corners until she arrived at the bridge. She checked her O2 meter as she floated next to her chair. "3% left. Shit." she muttered. She then noticed that they had been hailed on two channels. Multiple ships?
Well, she'd answer the hails quickly, then just head back to the training room till they got here. Didn't have time to worry about who the other ship was at the moment. She flicked on comms. "This is Captain Caine of the Muramasa. We have a situation at the moment. Engines are out, power's mostly out, and we don't have life support. So whoever you are, we're about to choke to death. Help would be GREATLY appreciated."
