"Just need help asembling the extra components for this thing. The Banshee armor I asked Neasha should serve as a direct upgrade for the base of the armor. Just need to tinker around with it. Buuut, since you're that kind to offer something extra, the fabric on these things is really rough."
"Oh, Sorry. Something's been in my mind recently. And yeah I work as a Gunner" Jason said while holding his head with his left hand because of he said earlier. but quickly ask a question for Valk "How about you? What do you do on the ship?"
Maddox chuckled. "I got some synthweave lying around. It will keep you warm and dry without making the suit feel like a coffin." He gestured with the datapad in hand. "I'll get back to you once it's done."
"How about you? What do you do on the ship?"
"Robotics technician and engineer. Otherwise, I'm a pirate." she said, looking up from her arms at him.
I'll get back to you once it's done.
"Thanks. You don't know how much work you saved me."
Robotics technician and engineer. Otherwise, I'm a pirate.
Amy turned around "You forgot tattoo artist."
"You're a Pirate? well. to be honest Valk, you don't look like the usual person to be unhinged" Jason said before preparing himself for an eventual hit from Valk.
Markus chuckled and gave Mercy a friendly look, "Well, luv, when ya do need somethin, don' hesitate to come to me." He got up from the wall and leaned closer to Mercy, "I reckon you oughta take a look at the snowman. That Molo fella musta given 'im a proper nogging cause it seems like there's now two people living in 'is head. Rather catch it now 'fore 'e goes snooker loopy." He straightened himself and nodded towards Mercy with a smirk, "See ya around, doc." He walked past Mercy and pinched her butt cheek with an backwards underhand before walking towards the ramp. He had forgotten something in his cabin on the Muramasa.
"You forgot tattoo artist."
"Yeah, that too." said Valk with a nod, glancing over at Amy.
"You're a pirate? Well, to be honest Valk, you don't look like the usual person to be unhinged."
Valk gave him a dumbfounded look. This guy really wasn't all there in the head. "Do you not see the tattoos? The cutlass? HALF MY FUCKING HEAD IS SHAVED AND I'VE GOT MAUVE COLORED HAIR." she said finally, pointing at the side of her head. "Holy fucking shit! I now know who the clueless fuck of the crew is!" she continued, looking at the others before returning to Jason. Valk's expression had turned from dumbfounded to an hysterical smile.
Markus strolled past Valk and Jason as he overheard the conversation, and looked back as he was going down the ramp, "Why don' ya hop on a freighter up to RQ an' see 'ow not unhinged all 'er mates are!" he shouted with a hearty laugh.
Mercy looked at Markus as he walked on, not with a dumbfounded or disgusted expression, just a somewhat blank one. She turned back to the others and shrugged to herself. When working as a mercenary as a female, you tend to get used to that kind of stuff. At least that would make testing out the darts later a much more... satisfying experience. She looked over at Valk and Jason, rather amused and leaning back against the wall. "Well, she does have a point."
Jason just stand in place while enduring Valk's rant. However. after Valk was done with shouting at him, Jason replied with a calm voice. "And that's the smile I'd liked to see from you Ms.Blackwell."
Amy motioned to Maddox to move in closer and said with a whisper. "And now you can see in the wild, a lovestruck idiot."
"And that's the smile I'd liked to see from you Ms.Blackwell."
Valk's smile remained, rather toothy, but her tone changed. "Do you have a death wish?" she asked, darkly. If this was his way of flirting with her, then he was doing it rather poorly. "Because I'm not a fan of idiots."
Moloch, awaiting Yanim's response, clutched his head in pain for a moment. His psychic senses were going off like crazy, like if he was hit by a wave of abnormal psychic activity. And it happened right after Jason was finishing his statement. Probably just a coincidence.
Yanim stared at János for a moment as he gave an explanation for his slowness. "I don't really care," she replied. "Now that you're here, I have a simple question for you. Where do your loyalties lie?"
Hariim returns to the Muramasa with his new equipment in tow. He gathers his other possessions and moves into fitting quarters on the Cataract. Once he's done, he gives Valkyrie a ring.
Valkyrie, I am prepared to begin your education. Do you have a few minutes? First lession will not take long. -Hariim
Valk felt her holotablet vibrate in her pocket, breaking her out of her gaze at Jason. She pulled it out and checked it, saw Hariim's message, and quickly responded.
Be there in a sec. - Valkyrie
She put her tablet away, then looked back up at Jason. "Watch your ass now, Jay." said Valkyrie, with the same smile from before. She then walked away, heading back back over to the Cataract's crew quarters. She eventually arrived at Hariim's door and knocked only once. "Its me." she said simply.
The door opens quietly. Hariim sits cross-legged on his bunk. He has a pillow set across from him, a likely seat. "Sit down and relax as much as you can. First link can be an odd experience when you're not used to psychosomatic experiences. First lesson is the new scale on which you live. To begin to live as well as you can, you have to understand what you've got as best you can." Hariim speaks in his new monotone, a soft wise voice that grabs the ear. He himself seems only half awake. Like his attention is split.
"I already live as well as I can, and understand pretty well that I have a hunk of metal in my head. But alright, I'll play along." said Valk, after a moment of just observing him. This is like some sort of weird ass monk shit or something. She knew a guy that did that stuff once. Cool under fire, hell of a hand-to-hand fighter. Too bad he didn't see the large kinetic slug mine she had set under his meditation mat. She entered the room, and sat down on the pillow. She attempted to sit cross-legged, moving about a bit till she finally got situated. Now came the relaxing part. She shut her eyes, and took a few deep breaths.
"With your permission, I will access your implant. Otherwise we will have to spend the next few hours getting through a less on on semi-concious thought dynamics and direct-indirect subconcious mind direction. It... is as complicated and surreal as it sounds; it is simpler to connect you to the Culture via piggyback than it is to coax you there from scratch." Hariim says to begin. He primes his headware and prepares to begin Valkyrie's lesson. "You are free to abstain, but if we do it the faster way I assure you that you will end your first visit to the Culture with all the basic working knowledge you need to put that 'hunk of metal' to some more practical uses than just keeping your neurons firing."
Squish laughs at the comment. Squish starts heading to the quarters and begins the decontamination process. Squish cannot believe what he finds in the room. Many magazines of what seems to describe Hammer Porn. Squish didn't look much further into this because the picture of a hammer on the front with its inner parts exposed was just too weird for him. Squish tries to clean up the random chewed debris over on Hercules' side. It was covered in some weird slime. He decided to chuck them into the trash chute. Then he started making his bed and covered it in cellophane. He then made a makeshift tent to cover the bed out of cellophane. Hopefully this would keep everything out.
Valkyrie popped one eye open, looking at Hariim, before finally saying "...Fine. Go ahead." and shutting her eye again. Better to do it the quick way instead of dragging this shit out for hours. As much as she liked tech and such, she wasn't going to sit here and listen to him drone on and on.
Valkyrie hears something pop. And then a world pops into existence before her eyes. She is sitting just like she is in Hariims quarters, and Hariim is sitting much the same. They are both in a different place, both sat atop a flat table-like sofa. Around them, a house of doors stands. Every wall shows a different place, each like a portal, Valkyrie somehow knows. She knows somehow that every place is real within whatever virtual reality she now resides in, and that this is Hariim's domain. "Welcome, to my home. Don't mind the spouses if they show up; they've a way of dropping in on me whenever I come online." His voice is.... normal. "Get up and follow me. I'll take you to the oldest page the Culture pulled together for itself, where it defined itself. And then, I'll see about teaching you a thing or two about your implant. Namely, how to reach us on your own, and how to navigate the Culture's mesh. You've stepped into a new world, the one I joined after I left the SDF."
Frosty, still walking around aimlessly in the Cataract trying to find the mess hall, bumps into Taylor. Remembering how absolutely foul their last encounter went, he seizes up in nervousness.

I get to meet the family. She rolled her eyes and stood. "Reminds me of some of those VR chambers on Nyx." she said, looking around. She honestly hoped she didn't run into more SDF. She already had enough of 'em in the real world to deal with. - - - - - - - - Taylor looked up to see Frosty wandering around in the hall, pretty groggy and not exactly well dressed. "Hey Frosty.. Feeling any better?" she asked, stopping in front of him. Her tone was softer, but sort of cautious. Hopefully it wasn't going to be the OTHER Frosty that answered her.
Frosty tried straightening himself out, and was zipping up his flightsuit as he spoke. "Not really... So, is this our new ship or something?"
"Not really... So, is this our new ship or something?"
"For the time being, yeah. We're also grounded for now, so we'll be living in here till the boss says otherwise." replied Taylor, looking around, before returning to Frosty.
"I see... Oh and, Captain... Before I forget, I need to tell you something. My outburst I had earlier, I... never apologized for that did I?"
"I see... Oh and, Captain... Before I forget, I need to tell you something. My outburst I had earlier, I... never apologized for that did I?"
Taylor shook her head. "No, you didn't."
Frosty took a deep breath, stood tall, and tried to maintain his composure. This was something he needed to do. "Well, now is my chance then. I... feel like you deserve an explanation as to why I became so angry, especially when you brought up János. Earlier, I had spoken to Yuga about the whole ordeal. She told me that János made everyone stand down and surrendered my body personally to Moloch. Because of that, I felt as if he and the rest of the crew betrayed me by handing me over without lifting a single finger to force Moloch away. So when you tried to talk to me, and told me János tried to stop a fight from breaking out which could have potentially gotten more of us killed, I completely lost it... I'm certain he tried to make the best of a terrible situation, but I just can't shake this feeling he stabbed me in the back. Still, I shouldn't have gotten angry at you. You didn't deserve that at all, and I feel horrible about that one last thing I said..." Frosty looked down, feeling the weight of his words. "I'm sorry I did that, Captain..."
