"Is it quick? If not, ask me later."
"Well i just need something translated for me,"
Jason motions his arm to show Amelia his Wrist Monitor.
"It's in Japanese and before you say that i can just translate it online, No. i can't because its encrypted in a way that you have to do it manually"
Maddox was sitting at the center of his cell with his back facing the door. When he overheard Mercy and Taylor outside he lifted his head a bit but remained silent while continuing to ignore comments made by Markus. He would get what he deserved in due time.
He glanced to his left and was met with the evil grin of the shadow creature. Razorsharp teeth reflected the light from the cell as the two red eyes observed Maddox.
For a moment Maddox was able to put his fear aside and noticed that the creature had begun to assume a more solid, humanoid, shape.
Instead of its current form which looked like a dark cloud with eyes and teeth, several limbs had started to take shape.
Before Maddox could make further observations the creature spoke.
"You shall be punished for your incompetence, even if you hide your family cannot."
Maddox refocused and continued to stare at the wall while Mercy worked on him.
"Knee." He said and nodded towards his shot knee.
It was fortunate Frosty was not searched as he was put into his cell, as his flightsuit and vest had many pockets he had stashed many things in. One such thing inside his vest held his datapad. The piss stained mattress worried him greatly as Taylor wanted him and Moloch to clean it. He sent a message to Taylor about the matter of the mattress.
Captain, I know I am not in any position to make any requests, and i'm really sorry for what Moloch and I did, but if you want us to clean up Maddox's cabin then we need to do it now. Markus' urine stain on his bed is gonna dry and become very smelly as the days pass by, and I do not want to know what sort of mold or germs may grow because of that.
- Frosty.
Mercy nodded, beginning to twist the two in the opposite direction before hearing an all-too-satisfying 'pop' as the bones pop back into the correct positions. No doubt that was extremely painful on Maddox's end, but she shrugged it off and opened her bag.
Taking out a pair of tweezers and carefully maneuvering down to Mad's knee, Mercy starting to root around for any projectile- but at least trying to not hurt him too much.
Taylor stepped back away from the cell, seeing that Mercy was taking good care of Maddox. She felt her tablet vibrate in her pocket, so she decided to check it. A message from Frosty? She looked over into his cell. "I'll deal with the mattress. Don't worry. If I let you two out so early, then it sets a bad example for the others. A few days, then you can get out of there."
Maddox gritted his teeth as Mercy popped back his wrist.
"You are weak. Pathetic. Useless." Whispered the creature while chuckling.
Maddox frowned. He put one of his hands on Mercy's arm, gesturing her to wait. He then used his other hand to find the slug in his knee.
Fumbling with two fingers he fished out the tiny projectile and placed it on the floor.
He glanced at the creature who scoffed at him with a hint of amusement.
Taylor departed the brig, heading for Maddox's room. Once inside, she could smell it...oh fuck, its terrible! What the fuck was Markus drinking!? She grabbed the mattress, stood it up, and pulled it out of Mad's room and down the hall. Eventually, she dragged it off the ship and a good distance away. On the carrier, she found the trash chute, and shoved it in.
Once that was settled, she looked for a portable bunk to put in Maddox's room, which she did once she found a spare one on board the carrier. There. The rest of the room, Moloch and Frosty were going to clean up.
((Captain Mom indeed.))
"Right, zhat works too, I suppose." Mercy pulled out the tweezers, setting them to one side on a tissue. She took out a roll of gauze and some disinfectant spray, spraying it all over the wound, to disinfect it, of course. She then began to dress Mad's leg, whistling a tune as she did so.
Well, there was nothing left to do now. Just sit and wait. Frosty tried dozing off as he was done talking.
As he slept, he had a dream...

"AM. I. NOT. THE GREATEST!?" screamed an armored giant.
With one last tug, Chemosh pulled out the spinal cord from one of his opponent's backs. The rest of them huddled together far away from him, unsure of what to do of this armored goliath eviscerating one of their friends right before their eyes.
Earlier that day, several spies within the Children of God had been caught. Infiltrating CoG was a very difficult task considering all the artisynth look exactly the same, however one must ask why a pair of bushes and shrubs were hiding a van, and would need an internet connection straight to the UN Headquarters. At first, Chemosh wanted to simply execute them, but was convinced by Beherit to have a little fun with them first. He had them stripped down completely before shoving them into a large pit with only two knives to defend themselves with despite there being 7 of them total. They were told they would be spared and set free if they could take down their opponent. And their opponent? A heavily armored Chemosh with a really long chainsaw. This makeshift gladitorial arena was packed with spectators from the Quds Force and the rest of the Ayatollahs. Beherit watched the carnage from a comfortable mat as he ate sweet fruit. Moloch didn't enjoy seeing what he saw as much as Beherit did, and wished Chemosh simply had them shot. Nevertheless, the crowd cheered Chemosh on as he put on quite a spectacle for them. A camera was set up, recording footage of it all, with intentions to send it to the UN to make CoG's message clear: They really, really hate spies.

Roll Passed.
Thommas stared back at János for a while, gears churning in his head. The Death Vigil had pounded a blood oath into his head to never betray his comrades, and to practically worship death as a favorable alternative. However, being held here, in obscurity, at the very edge was different than he ever imagined he might go. It was no blaze of glory, but rather a dying spark in a prison cell, having already failed in his mission... total disgrace. As hard as the Vigil had tried, they had not erased his ego enough to allow him to accept this fate. He was tough, too- perhaps if he survived his imprisonment here, he would be a good prospect for another mercenary job...
((I don't know how much this Vulture knows about the reasons behind his mission. Either kilerabv needs to play his part, or pass along to me how much information was shared with this particular grunt.))
Meanwhile, the Aurikha dropped out of warp, having arrived at Jugmach at last. The bulky carrier was placed under computer control so that it could execute the delicate rendezvous maneuver with the equally-massive station. A crane-like structure on Jugmach extended outward, attaching to the outer surface of the Aurikha and locking the two constructs together before a tunnel was extended through the force field. SULP engineers ensured that the tunnel was secured before signalling to the workers inside, who then opened the hatch. There was now a physical connection between the station and the hangar through which the crew could walk. That is, once they've decided to act like a crew again.
Bucky glances back at Valkyrie. "I floated around Proxima for a little while, got the skill software for starship engineering and just learned as much as I could. Did a few short stints on freighters, and then found my way to TBC. I'm actually pretty new to life. Only been around for like less than a decade."
While it was fortunate Frosty was not searched as he entered the brig, it was even more fortunate Moloch was not searched. Frosty had pulled out his datapad, but Moloch pulled out something even better from within his tunic...

...his horrible hookah.
The pungent smell of spices, burning incense, and hashish filled the air of the brig rather quickly from the boisterous bong. Grey misty clouds of the ashes of hash wafted out between the bars of his cell, leaving only a faint silhouette of himself visible in the center of it all through the smoke. Silence was broken with the noise of water bubbling up and the periodical loud exhalation Moloch did as he breathed out some wicked weed waves. Everything was getting hazy all because Moloch decided now would be a good time to use his sinister shīshe. Hopefully, Markus would not mind getting a little high, though Moloch was concerned with Frosty with what being the lightweight he is. He'd probably have some difficulties with his cognitive functions after a few minutes. As for Maddox, Moloch could not give a shit even if it meant getting high would probably make his mental state plummet even further.
Maddox awoke from his slumber, coughing. For a moment his mind actually became clearer as the smoke calmed his mind.
He waved with his hand to disperse the smoke while coughing. "What the hell?"
He glanced over his shoulder and noticed that the entire brig area was filled with a tin layer of smoke.
"Moloch did you set something on fire?"

"Ah...so you just drifted." said Valkyrie, as she finishing the outline of the tattoo, and starting to work on the coloring.

Taylor stepped off the Cataract, and started to watch the Aurikha dock with Jugmach station. Well, we've arrived. She pulled out her holotablet, and shot a message to the rest of the crew that wasn't in the brig.
We've docked with Jugmach Station. Anyone that wants to walk over, meet outside the Cataract.
- T. Caine
Shortly after that, she shot a message to Yanim about the situation that had occurred on the Cataract. She was the boss, she had to know.
I've confined Moloch, Frosty, Markus, and Maddox to the brig. Moloch, Frosty, and Markus were caught vandalizing Maddox's room. Moloch and Frosty came willingly, so they'll spend a few days in the brig and will clean up Mad's room afterwards. Markus resisted, so he'll be spending time in there a bit longer.
I think the stress may have got to Maddox, and he snapped. He went to the brig, wanting to shoot Moloch, but was stopped by Hariim. I reprimanded Maddox after we got him under control, and stuck him in the brig for the time being.
If there's anything you would like for me to do, just shoot me a message.
- T. Caine
Yanim read the message several times over to be sure of what was going on. Maddox had gone from professional soldier to enemy spy, and then from enemy spy to full-blown traitor in the span of about an hour in her eyes. Having finally lost her patience, she paged Rask.
Rask, meet me in the hangar. Come armed.
Maddox was sitting slumped up against the far wall inside his cell. In some weird way whatever Moloch was smoking helped keep his mind clear. Maddox chuckled. Who knew that the cowl-wearing zealot could help him in some way.
"I know the timing sucks but for what its worth I'm sorry I called you a 'cowl-wearing piece of shit' earlier Moloch." He yelled across the brig filled with smoke.
Moloch did not listen. He was too busy meditating in his cannabis cloud, thinking of better times when he was back on Earth...
Yanim and Rask met up outside of the Cataract, where Yanim explained the situation. Rask was angry, since no one had told him that Maddox was a spy, but he was intrigued by Yanim's attempt to turn him into a double agent. Regardless, Maddox was a danger to those around him and therefore was no longer useful to the company. They walked with purpose through the ship down to the brig, where there were obvious signs of a recent struggle. The whole room smelled like skunk, which further enraged Rask but reminded Yanim of better times. They found Maddox sitting on the floor of his cell.
"You are quite possibly the dumbest person I've ever worked with," Yanim said, bluntly.
"On yer feet, human," Rask said. "Hands against the wall; an' look away. We'll make it quick and easy."
Alex went to the kitchen after the little incident with Markus. He was greeted by the sight of his siter siting by one of the tables. "So, what was the commotion about."
"Well, you're sitting down, mind as well tell you everything." He proceeded to tell her everything that happened in the meeting and the fight with Markus while he prepared food. Amy could only sit in silence and be amazed at the whole thing. "Do me a favor, take this down to the brig. The canned food that is out of date and will make your shit yourself is for the Vulture. The sandwitches are for Frosty and Moloch. Religion banned food is not in there, so the hood doesnt have to worry."
"And the beer?"
"That's for Markus. Figured he'd use a refill after emptying the tank on Maddox's bed." A grin formed on Amy's face.
"This is your sign of respect isn't it?" She asked while barely able to hold back a laugh.
"Hey, if the guy has the balls to do what he did, he gets my respect."
Amy grabbed the food and went down the brig. The smoke in the room caught her by surprise and she nearly went into a coughing fit. "Alright. cough Who's hungry?cough"
Maddox widened his eyes and noticed that both of his superiors were carrying pistols. He held up his hands as he got up. "Whoa, boss what are you doing?"
"Listen, I know I fucked up. Bad. But I never hurted anyone!"
He turned around and placed his hands on the wall while glancing over his shoulder. "Yes, I haven't been myself lately but please, let me show you that I'm still of use. Remember the TAC? My work. Think about all the profit you could earn from other guns just like it."
Maddox looked at the creature which grinned at him. "Judgement day, traitor."
The gunsmith frowned and looked at Yanim and Rask. "Please, I might be a liar and a spy but you both know damned well what I can do with some tools and metal junk. Resources for your cause, right?"
Waiting for a response Maddox leaned his forehead against the wall. He looked down into the floor and did something he hadn't done since he three years old.
He prayed. He prayed that, if there was a god up there, he or she would help him. He prayed for a second chance. He prayed, just like his grandfather had taught him that one time they had gone camping.
Maddox awaited his judgement.

"Fine, you made your point," Thommas sighed. "I'll talk."
János kept his expression neutral. He didn't want to appear cocky. "Now, who do you work for?"
"You want to know my other boss, right? His codename is Archangel, but his real name is Gabriel. He's a robot with some advanced AI shoved in his head. Apparently, that's all you need for the Executor to have you be in charge of a Vulture squad."
"What else do you know about Gabriel?"
"He's a sarcastic asshole."
"I already knew that just by talking to you," János retorted. "Anything else?"
"Now this will sound crazy, but I swear it's the fucking truth. The fucking thing has actual organic emotions in there. I've seen him get angry and experience fear."
János scratched his chin. An advanced AI like that is incredibly hard to come by, and from Thommas' description, it would be more likely that he just had a dead man's brain in an electric format. However, from his tone, he knew he couldn't continue down this line of questioning.
"Alright, I'll take your word for it. Now, what is it you did at the Vigil?"
"Murder, arson and jaywalking. You have to be more specific."
"I was referring to your job, your position in the group."
"I was a Reaper. Meaning I wore heavy armor and carried a big gun to serve as an enforcer. Then I got a call one day that said I was in the Vultures in case they needed a big fist to burst through a wall."
János nodded. He continued on with his next question. "So, I would assume that you know why the Vigil attacked us, no?"
"All I know is that you guys had something important on the ship. The Executor wanted it so he send us to get it."
"You don't know what that important thing was then?"
"Not a clue. Executor wants it, you better hide it somewhere good. He's not one to let this go."
"Do you know why he wants it at least?"
"If I was to make an educated guess, I'd say it has something to do with his pet projects. He's really big on cybernetics and life extension."
"Could you elaborate on that?"
"This is something that you hear on Gibel from guys who are stationed as guards in the palace. So, grain of salt and all. He's old as hell, everyone knows this. Barely anything organic in him, mostly implants and augmentations. You saw that press conference. Guy is lively as ever because of it. Whatever you were carrying, probably has something to do with that."
János nodded once more. He had finally found out something incredibly useful. He continued onward.
"Alright, now, what did the Vigil know about the Muramasa?"
"You worked for some small time company called the Terika-Belladonna Company. And you had the thing we wanted."
"How did they know that we had the thing?"
"Inside man on Voyak. He was meant to help us during a raid on the base holding the thing; until one of you assholes stole it before us. He then followed the trail of gunfire and bodies to the fight and got a good look at the ship that carried you off."
János nodded, now sporting a smile on his face. "Alright then. I guess we're done for now," he commented, as he walked over to him and held him up.
"Remember this; if you continue being this cooperative, you might just survive your time with us. As I've told you a million times, you're lucky I'm your interrogator," he told him, as he led him to the door.
"Whatever you say."
Opening the door, the two were assaulted by clouds of smoke directly in their faces. János kept silent, but he was freaking out internally, unaware of what had transpired outside. Thommas got a coughing fit after inhaling the smoke. János kept on however, having memorized the location of Thommas' cell, being the closest to the interrogation room. He opened it and placed the disgraced Vulture within, before locking him up, to be interrogated another day. Now, however, he had to find the source of the smoke.
He called out to anyone in the Brig, in case there was someone with him. "Is anyone in here?! If so, could you tell me why there is smoke here?!"
Moloch's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of someone... praying?
All the smoke around him went straight underneath his hood like some sort of vacuum as he tried sticking his head out of his bars to see where that noise was coming from. He was shocked to hear that it was coming from Maddox's cell.
"Maddox... are you praying?"
Meanwhile, Frosty came out of his nap in a fit of coughs because of all the smoke in the air. Seeing Yanim and Rask pass by, he tried to greet them but what came out of his mouth was a series of coughing and wheezing. He too tried getting a peek of what's going down.
"Shut up, human," Rask replied, coldly. "It's already done." He took a look at Yanim, who seemed to be just as settled as he was. She nodded, and the two of them held out their pistols with steady hands, focusing on Maddox's head from their position outside the cell. They would simply shoot him through the gap between the bars.
"[Shoot him in the leg,]" Yanim whispered as she adjusted her own aim. "[We can keep him locked up and harmless. No spy shit, no missions to worry about- just keep him in a cell and let him draw up designs all day.]"
Rask was nervous. "[He's not right in the head. What happens if he sabotages us? Or worse- he gets out...]"
"[Then we kill him then. But until then, he's our captive and he could be valuable to us in the long run.]"
"[So... the legs?]"
"[The legs.]"
A pair of high-pitched shrieks rang out as the VRI pistols went off, blasting through the back of Maddox's knees and cutting him down to the floor. While he screamed in pain, Yanim quickly paged a few of her workers, as well as Hestia, to come assist Maddox in his transfer to the Aurikha's brig.
"Ya feel that? It means you're alive, keh," Rask taunted him. Maddox groaned.
"Second chances are rare in these circumstances, but you've just been given a third chance. I swear to the stars, human, if you make me regret this I'll make sure you go painfully."
"Well i just need something translated for me,"
Jason motions his arm to show Amelia his Wrist Monitor.
"It's in Japanese and before you say that i can just translate it online, No. i can't because its encrypted in a way that you have to do it manually"
Amelia takes a look at the message and stars reading in her mind. After a few seconds, she looks up to Jason and said, "I'll take this for a sec," she takes the piece of paper and shuts the door on Jason. After a six minutes of waiting, Amelia comes out with a new piece of paper, with the translated message all written out. "Tell this person that their grammar is awful and should work on it," this wasn't the case, in fact their grammar was perfectly fine, but Amelia would rather watch her show than translate this love letter. She gave the piece of paper to Jason, pushing him out of the way, then quickly closes the door.
Moloch, disappointed how Maddox was merely wounded, decided to weigh in on the business at hand.
"If I may interject for a moment. If Maddox is smart enough to create weapons and devices, then certainly he is capable of making a bogus device to sabotage you and your crew, yes? I understand fully I am in no position to make any comments, but I feel in my opinion it's best for all of us if you finish him."
János could only hear murmurs before he heard gunshots. "What the hell is going on?!" he yelled, unable to see in front of himself because of the smoke clouds.
As Yanim disarmed the plasma cartridge and slipped her VRI back into its holster, she acknowledged Moloch. "Maddox is a practical man, not a mastermind. Some of our contract laborers are engineers, as am I. Nothing gets built until we review the design and understand exactly how it works."
She then turned to János. "We needed to neutralize our resident traitor before removing him from his cell."
Maddox gritted his teeth as he felt the pain in both of his legs. He managed to squeeze out a quiet "Thank you" before he rolled over.
He looked Rask into the eyes. "You won't regret this, sir."
