Iron chuckled and nodded to himself before turning to Taylor. "How's that for shooting, huh?"
"[Uh! Finally, we are done with those Kanads! You know, Moloch, this crew acts very slow and unprofessional.]" spoke a tired Chemosh. "[They try their best, at least. All of us are still alive, and that's what counts. And speaking of being alive...]" responded Moloch. "...Now that the fighting has ceased, who wants to celebrate Rask and Maddox's deaths with Mr. Frosty and I?!" he exuberantly said over comms.
Markus breathed a sigh of relief when the battle was finally over and decided he would have himself some food. This fighting had made him rather tired. --- Sting came up and punched Moloch in the arm, "Tha's more like it, ya hadji sumbitch. How bout you have a swig o' the good stuff to celebratize this occupation?" she said with a grin while offering her notorious flask to him. --- Iska walked up to Yanim, bent down and put a hand on her shoulder, "Sekadera, you need to see doctor."
From the opening of the flask itself wallowed out a smell that made it's way into Moloch's nostrils. Whatever it was, it made him fall over and start coughing like mad. Chemosh stared intensely at the flask. "For God's sake woman, what is in that thing?"
Sting looked at Moloch as he attempted to pull himself together and shrugged. She winked to Chemosh, "Is a family recipe" she replied before taking a hearty swig for herself. She let out a hiccup and put her flask away, returning her focus to Moloch, "For your educated speech it'd seem like you ain't got enough to stomach one drink" she said as she turned towards Chemosh, "You humans are all talk no action, aint'cha? Ya gots to nut up or shut up."
Finally, they backed off. Taylor sighed with relief, before glancing to where Iron was.
"How's that for shooting, huh?"
"Damn fine shooting. You'd have made mom proud if she were here." she said, before looking to Yanim. Something was wrong, and Yanim needed a doctor as soon as possible. Which might be a while since the ship was lurching along at such a slow pace. The ship's medical staff would have to tend to her for now. Finally, she looked to Frosty and Molloch as they returned to the ship and began their celebrations with Sting. She was glad that Rask and Maddox had been dealt with, but it was really nothing to celebrate. Valkyrie, meanwhile, nudged Sting for the flask. She needed a drink after all the shit that had happened.
Seth was standing in the last dropship to leave the wreck of the Fang. The feeling of defeat was quickly burried when he looked towards the Aurikha taking down the Viokhmar. He couldnt hold it in. "Eat shit!" "Is this really the time to laugh. The shit you pulled is gonna bite us in the ass in the future because of your mistakes." Seth looked at Tarvis and placed a hand on his shoulder. "We earned this. Besides we are here today because dad made a tremendous fuck up." The attempts of humor didnt lighten up Tarvis' mood. --- "Well, were stuck in here with TBC for now boys. Once we land somewhere and get transport, we leave and go back to base. Drinks are on me. Untill then, at ease." Once Orso was done giving his commands he looked down. The wound he suffered earlyer still hurt and he could still feel a certain buzz. He was begining to feel a chemical unbalance and needed to treat it quickly. A quick look inside their APC didnt help. The serum that was needed wasnt among the supplies. 'I'm going to fucking make you assholes run in the snow untill your dicks freeze off.' Looks like he might have to ask their current hosts for help. He walked over to Taylor and tapped her on the shoulder "A moment, when you can." --- Alex sat on one of the crates strewn all arround the hangar, helmet in hand. He looked at it. The mask forming an all too familiar 'face' of the Creed footsoldiers. Amy stood close to her brother, placing a hand on his shoulder. "You really put on a show out there. Are you sure you're done with pit fighting?" She teased him. Trying to get his mind off it. "Cuz you sounded like you were gonna give that kanad a spinebuster if you got your hands on him." "Heh. I guess you can take the fighter out of the pit, but not the other way arround." He looked at her with a vague smile. It quickly faded away once he noticed the scortch marks on the side of her armor. "What happened there?" "Oh, this? Some Vakr managed to land a hit on me. It hurts like hell, but I'll live. I did get blown up a few weeks ago." "Figures. Fucking blue cocksucker!" "Alex?" "Its all honor and friendship untill its convenient to toss those aside." He tossed the helmet aside once he stood up. "I'm going to the kitchen. I still have a job to do." He tried to downplay it, but she could feel the anger in his voice. It was one of the few things that scared her ever since they were children. Watching him storm off to the kitchen, she worried for him. "Big bear..."
Iron smiled under his helmet and a placed a hand on Taylor's shoulder. "Same goed for you. Damn good shooting." He paused. "I'm not too well-versed into the whole story here but I know it's never easy to off someone you used to trust." "Just remember that they made their choices." Before Taylor could respond to Iron Orso spoke up. "I'll get back to work, we should catch up later. Your quarters in three hours or so?"
"You humans are all talk no action, aint'cha? Ya gots to nut up or shut up."
Oh no. An Artisynth was just mistaken for their public enemy number one. Chemosh seized up, clenched his fists, and stares Sting right into her soul. "... What did you just call me?" he stammered out.
Sting puffed her self up to look bigger with her arms slightly extended from her sides. "You ever take a look in the mirror, hoss? I 'm callin you a milk drinkin, flag-wavin, nature lovin human, you sumbitchin meatbag."
((Oh shit))
"You ever take a look in the mirror, hoss? I 'm callin you a milk drinkin, flag-wavin, nature lovin human, you sumbitchin meatbag."
The verbal equivalent of pouring petrol on the surface of the sun. Without even thinking, Chemosh charged towards Sting, fists swinging at full force. "OH, DAMN YOU-" Moloch rose to his feet just in time and pulled Chemosh away before he was able to land a single hit. "STOP IT!" Shoving him to the ground, he turned to face Sting to try and set the record straight about what he and Chemosh are. "Listen now, misses. Mr. Frosty and I are not humans. We are of a species that do not like them very much. Please, for your sake, don't address us as such in the future."
Valkyrie took a step back from Sting, as Chemosh tried to take a swing at her before Molloch stepped into stop him. She rolled her eyes. "Sure as fuck look Human to me for the most part, and there's not a damn thing wrong with that." she said. - - - - - - - - - - Taylor didn't notice what was going on over there, as she was busy with Iron and Orso.
"I'll get back to work, we should catch up later. Your quarters in three hours or so?"
"Sure. I'll be there." said Taylor, before turning to Orso. "What do you need?" she asked, finally removing the helmet she was wearing as she didn't need it anymore.
"Sure as fuck look Human to me for the most part, and there's not a damn thing wrong with that."
"You're not helping!" said Moloch, waving his hands about wildly.
Sting had raised her fists when Moloch came in between. She looked around as she processed the information, "But... but how come all y'all sumbitches look alike?".
Moloch rubbed his head for a second. This was going to be a bit lengthy to explain, and he had to shorten it down somehow in a way Sting could understand. "Think of it like this. On the outside, we resemble humans a little. On the inside, we are much different. We are not the same. Come and see this." Moloch rolled up his sleeve and made an incision on his arm. The Artisynth's trademark yellow blood seeped out. "This is not human blood."
What do you need?
"I'll give it to you straight. No bullshit. During the fight back there I started to experience the begining stages of a chemical disbalance that causes me and my brothers to have our...bad reputation." His voice was begining to sound nervous "Usually this isnt a problem since we carry arround kits with a serum with us, but somebody fucked up on the supply front, so now I'm stuck here being a potential threat to your safety." he took a deep breath before continuing. "You're clearly one of the peolpe in charge here. I need two things, someone to make sure I dont do something I'll regret and someone to help make the serum. Preferably, someone who has some background in xeno-biology."
Sting jumped back when Moloch cut himself in the arm, "What in the hetero hell?!" she exclaimed. But after having studied the blood for a short while she put her guns away and took out her flask, "Ya think you could pour some o' that lemon juice in this here flask?"
"You're clearly one of the peolpe in charge here. I need two things, someone to make sure I dont do something I'll regret and someone to help make the serum. Preferably, someone who has some background in xeno-science."
Taylor listened to his explanation and request. "Well, we have you covered on both fronts really. Our security officer Porter and biologist Amelia could help you out." she said. - - - - - - - - - Valkyrie listened in, and heard Sting ask that he put some of his 'blood' into the flask. The same flask Sting had been drinking out of. On second thought, she didn't want anything that Sting had.
"Ya think you could pour some o' that lemon juice in this here flask?"
Only one expression could Moloch have after hearing... that. "Lemon Jui- What the FUCK-..." Moloch took a moment to regain his composure. "Miss Sting... By any chance did you play with lead toys as a child?"
"Thank you Taylor. I owe you one."
Sting took a swig from her flask and put it back into her pocket, "Only thang they called me was WILD!" She took out two of her revolvers and shot a few shots into the air, "Ye-haw! I'm the first and only one o my kin to drive a sumbitchin western galactic to Terra from Duroma without them fancy papers." She paused and took out the empty casings and began reloading the guns, "I'm special all right. A sumbitchin 38. special shoot outta gods revolver" she finished with another wink.
Yanim's stiff frame finally loosened in Arkadam's hands, and he briefly feared she had feinted. Instead, she reached out unsteadily and gripped a portion of the Muramasa's flight console. "I... I know what's wrong with me," she replied to Iska. "This wasn't a good time to... have to talk about this." "Talk about what?" Arkadam asked, his voice tinged with evident frustration. "I'm sick, and there's not much a doctor can do about it. Give me a moment." She accessed Amelia's comm line directly and sent her a message to meet the rest of the crew in the hangar. For the past several days, the scientist had been holed up in a small laboratory housed elsewhere in the Aurikha. As it turned out, Yanim had given her a special task several days earlier. ((Since Otterman is no longer involved, I'm going to borrow one of his characters.)) "Come on, let's get out of this thing," Neasha said as she stood from the pilot's seat, somewhat glum as she patted the Muramasa's flight console as if it were a dog.
Moloch was stunned into silence. Slightly over four centuries of life, and he's thinking he'd seen it all. But never before had he encountered anyone like Sting. He looked over to his side towards Chemosh, and he too was also completely stupefied. With both eyes wide open they just stared at Sting. They couldn't think of a word to say. That is, until Chemosh broke the silence. With a finger raised, pointing it at Sting, he spoke. "...Don't follow us." The two then walked away to a different corner of the hangar.
Valkyrie watched as the pair walked away from Sting, stunned by her explanation. Valkyrie decided to do the same, but not before stepping up next to Sting and pointing her fingers at her. "You're pretty good." she said, before winking and heading off towards where Taylor was.
"[What the hell was that all about, Moloch?! Embarrassing ME infront of that talking insect?! Just LOOK at her! She's probably laughing at us, Moloch!]" ranted Chemosh, waving his arms about. "[Calm down! And stop making a scene! Had you started beating her, that would've drawn attention! Remember, Chemosh, no one knows who you really are! No one knows a thing, and we need to keep it that way.]" Although Chemosh is the kind of person to be blinded by his own fury, he understood that Moloch is right. Not one of the crew suspects anything off about him, and if his people were to have vengeance, he would need to keep acting the way 'Frosty' did no matter how sick it would make him. "[Listen now, my friend. To avoid anyone potentially suspecting something may be off about you, you need to do something I know you will not like.]" "[And what would that be?]" "[You need to apologize to Sting before she goes on making remarks infront of everyone about what you did. Frosty always apologized even for things he did that were out of his control, you see.]" "[...Fine.]" Chemosh made a mental note to overdose on Tylenol before he met Sting again.
Hariim retires to his quarters to rest and recuperate. He pretty much collapses into his bunk and turns himself off. --------------- Bucky, not one to ever rest, quickly works her way back into the carrier and assumes her normal humanoid female form. She chimes in over the ship's PA system.
"Okay, you bunch of meatbags. I hereby declare myself the android of the hour, and declare that you all owe me a drink! That will be all."
With her cheeky declaration done, Bucky heads back to engineering to start tending to her ship again. She's got a few things to tune up and run diagnostics on.
Seeing as he was already on his way out, Iron opted to help Yanim out to the hangar. He nodded towards Arkadam and Neasha before supporting Yanim. "I want to apologize for earlier, boss." Said the bounty hunter as he gently wrapped one of her arms around the back of his neck. "Didn't mean to come off as an amateur." Iron nodded again towards Arkadam. "Nice work neutralizing that gas by the way."
((Since Otterman is no longer involved, I'm going to borrow one of his characters.))
(( *COUGH* )) Amelia crawls out of her laboratory hole after recieving the message. Being pretty much as machine until now, she takes a few moments to come back to her human self. Afterwords, she struggles as she moves her stiff body until she reaches the desired destination.
Arkadam rolled his eyes at Iron's attempt at diplomacy. "It was my pleasure," he said sarcastically, giving no indication of whether or not he was accepting the olive branch. Soon, the party had exited the Muramasa and were back on the deck of the Aurikha, quickly making eye contact with Amelia. The latter was surprised by the sunken look in Yanim's eyes, and the fact that she was practically being carried. "I gave you a biohazard sample during the long warp from Yscom space," she droned. "I need you to repeat to everyone what you told me- what you found."
