"So may I ask you, Ms. Amy, what is the problem with Sol and religion? What absolutely insipid thoughts manifested within the minds of the leaders of the world to ban such a critical part of human culture? What made them think neutering the human soul could possibly be a wise decision?" asked Chemosh as he strides next to Amy.
"The SSG happened. They decided that the best way for humanity to join the UGC was to push everyone into one homogenized group." They passed by shops selling different stocks. Plenty of imported cheap garbage, from what she could see. "So goodbye religion. Goodbye cultures that 'didnt fit'. And hello extremists fighting to keep the old alive. Doesnt matter who or what stood in their way."
"How utterly repulsive!" snarled Chemosh. "That is absolutely shameful, I must say. A bunch of pretentious old men in suits demolishing the very essence of what constitutes humanity because it did not fit whatever miserable idea of a greater good they had. My people would never stand for such a thing."
"You're not the only ones." --- "Boss, got a call comming in from Orso." Seth's looked up from his seat towards Tarvis. "Says, that TBC are getting their ship fixed and that one of them is looking to book it. Says she's a biologist and has her own bodyguard. Dont know what Orso told her, but aparently she wants to go with us." "Fine by me. I'll talk it over with Yanim when we finally get to talk. See what transport we can arrange for em." He looked at Tarvis carefully. Something was wrong. "Anything else?" Tarvis handed the tablet to Seth. The commander scanned it quickly and looked up again. Whatever semblence of a good mood had quickly evaporated. The low humm of the engines was the only thing saving this from being a complete awkward sillence. "I dont know what's worse. Being branded a terrorist assosiate" He tossed the tablet aside "Or having this low of a bounty on me."
"My orders are to take out the generator however I feel that untill we've secured our position we'd just put the citizens at risk if we disable the shield now. It's your call."
"We'll break through the defensive lines and rush the generator building. I suggest preparing your men for the incoming hostiles. I'll get some armor down here to back us up against those tanks and gunships. As soon as the civilians are out of that dome, we'll call for an evac." said the Upyri lieutenant, before making a hand gesture to the other Marines. They prepared their weapons, and readied themselves to push up the hill. "We children of Ker like to take a brute force, head on approach to things." chuckled the Lieutenant, before tapping the side of his helmet. "[Colonel, this is Lieutenant Kühn. Requesting immediate armor support. Hostile tanks and gunships are inbound on this position, over.]" crackled the Lieutenant's voice through comms on the bridge of the Revelator. "[Understood. Sending in some tanks and fighters to assist.]" he responded, before looking to the comms officer. "[Get the Nyxian Dream on the horn, and tell them to deploy their detachment of tanks and fighters.]" "[Aye, sir!]" Back on the ground, the Lieutenant gave the SDF squad leader a thumbs-up before looking to his men. "[ALRIGHT, MEN. LETS BREAK THESE FUCKERS IN HALF.]" A moment later, they left the SDF squad leader standing there, as they charged towards the shield generator building in a spread out formation. The snipers on the hill continued to give them cover, as they rushed and bore down on Creed crusaders that happened to have the misfortune of standing in their way. The ground between the building and the SDF line quickly became a killing field as the Marines pushed like a bulldozer towards the shield generator building. The Upyri Marines matched the Divinity Creed both in willpower and sheer brutality.
Smith shook her head. "They sure live up to their reputation." She turned towards the OMS soldiers next to her. "Team one, provide fire support. Make sure that those Upyri marines don't beat the generator into pieces. Rest of you are with me." The captain patted on the fire-and-forget missile launcher on her back. "We're gonna buy them some more time." --- Jacobs walked across the hangar floor with heavy steps. Red lights illuminated the large room which was now empty save for a single Chariot-class corvette ship. Jacobs was no fool, he knew that despite his might God could not make him, his forces let alone his ships invincible. A pair of knights and a small unit of crusaders were in formation next to the ramp leading into the ship. The shipmaster himself stood at the front of the formation with his arms crossed behind his back. "My lord, your ship awaits." Jacobs nodded. "Prepare to jump as soon as we leave the hangar. This vessel is moments away from becoming a hammer which will crush our foes." The shipmaster nodded. "Naturally, my lord." As Jacobs boarded the ship his soldiers followed and soon enough the corvette took off and began to speed away from the Enduring Shield which slowly began its descent into orbit.
Constantine was caught off guard by Mattheus's sudden can-do attitude. He had spent the whole morning worried about the Black Fleet and hadn't thought about the TACs even once. Most of the SULP crew was involved with the repairs as well, and so production had basically ground to a halt. He crossed his arms. "You want to take a leading role?" he asked, uncrossing his arms and pulling out a tablet. With the press of a key, a holographic representation of the ship's diagnostics reports manifested itself. "We've got four priorities right now. "Our top concern is related to the flight engines, which were blown off during our fall from orbit. The khergians have devoted most of their people to fabricating new parts to replace the ones which were damaged. They have their own workshop space on the hangar floor right now as well as a camp outside the ship where they're laying pieces out and taking notes. Most of our guys from SULP are working under their wing. "Second priority is on the reactors and our power systems. We've got Bucky leading that project, and actually, she's pretty close to being finished. Third is repairs to the ship's hull, which is grunt work of course, you don't need that... "...so that leaves integrated systems. Mattheus, I'm going to leave you in charge of getting our weapons, shields, and communications up and into full-order. You won't have a lot of assistance with this, since we've got too many other things going on right now, but most of the damage is mild, albeit tricky. If you can get it all repaired to full, then try to find a way to make the systems function either stronger or more efficiently. We're going to be on the run for a while and we can't afford to run out of power. You do all that, and I'm sure Boss would approve of your involvement with our weapons line."
As he observed the enemy fleet, Vedok and other members of his bridge crew noticed that the Enduring Shield was starting to sink into Gargas' atmosphere. "[I need a rough guess of where that ship's going to impact, immediately.]" said Vedok, looking around the bridge. A few moments later, a response came. "[At current angle and velocity, it will impact...right on top of the shield dome. Its a suicide dive, sir.]" stated one of the officers near him, looking back to him. "[Shit...order all Gladius and Caliburnus vessels to destroy the vessel. Maybe we can hit its core reactor and detonate it in orbit. Ground forces might get hit with debris, but its much better than an entire ship dropping on them.]" As the ships turned and opened fire with their main guns on the falling Creed ship, Vedok noticed a small corvette leaving the vessel. More than likely the command crew of the vessel. He grinned a little. Maybe that shot to the bridge scared them enough to run away. He didn't order that the corvette be targeted, deciding to let the cowards run away while they focused on saving their ground forces and civilians from being crushed. - - - - - - - - - - As the Enduring Shield was being fired upon in orbit, the Nyxian Dream had finished deploying its armor and fighter divisions to support the ground forces. Two large dropships (carrying four tanks each) arrived near SDF positions, dropping off Upyri plasma tanks. Hopefully these would provide sufficient support. Two squadrons of Dardus-class fighters and bombers began their patrols around the dome, searching for targets to strike. - - - - - - - - - - The bodycount started to rise drastically as the Marines pushed hard towards the shield generator, both for the Creed as well as the Marines. Half a platoon was now dead, whilst more were injured in the fighting. Creed was fighting hard to keep the generator out of enemy hands. "[Push harder! We capture that building or we fucking die trying!]" shouted the Marine Lieutenant, as he fired a shot from his sidearm through the skull of one of the Creed crusaders. The explosive-tipped round detonated, popping his head like a balloon. Blood and brain stained his armor, as the detonation forced him to look away quickly just in time to see a Creed crusader skewer one of the other Marines with a sword. A fucking sword!? He wants to go feudal, eh? Fine. He rushed the crusader, ripping off his helmet and slamming it across the side of the crusader's head. It stunned the man, knocking him sideways and forcing him to drop the sword he was wielding. An opening appeared, and Lieutenant Kühn went in for the kill. He grabbed the man by the arm and head, jerked his head sideways, and sank his teeth into the man's throat. What followed was gruesome, horrifying the crusader's comrades nearby. Kühn jerked his head back, ripping the crusader's adam's apple out of his neck. He spat it aside, as the crusader collapsed. Grasping at the large hole in his neck. He didn't allow him to perish slowly, though, as he followed up with a curb stomp. The man's head caved under the impact, smashing under his boot. "[KILL 'EM ALL.]" barked the Lieutenant, as he opened fire with his sidearm on the crusader's comrades, whom were now shouting about 'vampires' and 'demons'. Back on Gibel Nathaniel walked in the main ballroom with a spry in his step. Anyone could see that he was pleased with himself. With a glass of wine in one hand he mingled through the crowd of guests. The boring droning of military commanders and celebrities could not ruin his good mood. 'Horseman of war', he kept repeating to himself. Just have to wait for that bucket of bolts to come back so he could get to work. He lost himself in the moment until he noticed he was leaning on the balustrade on the main balcony. Once again enjoying the view. The sounds of the party behind him. "Mind if I join you?" Nathaniel shook his head slightly and looked towards the direction of the new voice. "Oh...yes. Be my guest. Serra was it?" "Come on. You would know who I am." The upiry woman answered with a sly smile. "You heard Vulkov yelling a while ago." "Heh, it was funny seeing him burst out like that, I'll give you that. Why was he so pissed at you I wonder?" "Pff, that story again." Serra rolled her eyes. She took a sip of her martini before continuing. "If you must know. Back in the day I was one of his 'Diamond guard'. We were the best of the best among the Gold dusts blah blah blah. Anyway, Vulkov is an ungratefull pig. So one day, me, the rest of the girls and a few others..." Nathaniel raised a hand and said with a mixture of confusion and amusement. "Hold on. Rest of the girls?" "Oh yes. Back then, the Diamond guard was only women that were somewhat atractive. The unifors were the tackiest shit you could give to someone who is about to go shoot up a place. It felt like I was a pinup model for some shitty war movie. Pfah. Partially why I'm dressed like this." She motioned with her free hand to draw attention to her outfit. "Wanted to tease him enough to piss him off, but I digress. Me, the rest of the girls and a good number of his guys who were angry with manegment insigated a mutiny." She finished off whatever was left in her glass before continuing. "It was a complete failure. Got locked up with the slaves along with the rest of the survivors. But some of the guards saw it my way and we got out. And that is why the big bad wolf of the slave trade is pissed off at me. I'm one of those that got away" Nathaniel had been carefully listening to her story. Most of what she said clicked with what he knew of Vulkov, so he didnt have a reason to doubt her. The Diamond guard part was new to him however. "The dress part seems petty, but I cant say that I like the prick. So by all means, keep pissing him off. Just not here or I'll have to throw you out." He chuckeled before glancing back at the party inside. One of the patrons caught his attention. He looked off somehow, like he was more 'robotic' standing next to the others. Him looking arround and clearly having cybernetic parts set off a red flag. Nathaniel waved one of the guards over. He pointed towards the guest. "Who's that?" "Nobody I recognize, sir. I'll radio it in....This is patrol 6. Possible problem on the horizon. Check my feed to confirm." A few seconds pass. "Command? Are you hearing me?" The guard looked back at Nathaniel "Not good." Before he could say anything a loud bang could be heard from inside the ball room. What followed were more bangs as the crowd inside began to panic and search for a way out. It didn't take long for Nathaniel to recognize those bangs as gunfire. He turned arround. "You. Stay here with our guest and make sure she's fine after this. I'll go inside and make sure the Executor isnt injured or worse." Serra didnt waste time to protest."What? Dont leave me here to be babysat! I can take care of myself, thank you." "Not with high heels and a dress you can't!" He took a few steps before something bounced off the back of his head. It looked like a shoe. He looked back and saw Serra ripping off the lower part of her dress while wielding a pistol in one hand. He wondered how she got that in before noticing the holster on her thigh. "Huh. Fine, suit yourself then. But he's still sticking with you to make sure you're safe." Rushing inside, it didn't take long for him to pic out his targets. Nathaniel tackled one of the assailants to the ground. Grabbing hold of his arm wielding the gun, he pressed it to under the mans chin and pulled the trigger. There was no blood as the weapon was beam based, instead it left a hole in the skull with steam comming out of it. Not having time to question what was in front of him, he moved on to the next target. It seemed that the assassins weren't picky with their targets. While the guards tried to hold them at bay, the others were content with shooting through the fleeing guests. Almost tripping over several times, Nathaniel managed to get behind a turned over table. One of the assassins must have spotted him as he began to fire towards it. The Death vigil merc caught a break when the gun stopped in need for a reload. He poped out of cover long enough to score a lucky hit in the eye. Returning back behind cover, he heard something he didn't like. "GRENADE!" Whoever it was, had just chucked a plasma grenade. The explosion and fireball destroyed the flimsy cover he was standing behind and had managed to burn his back. Nathaniel gritted his teeth as he rose up. The sight of one of the assassins pointing a gun at him was the first thing he saw. No, it's not gonna end like this. Not if he could help it. Gripping the gun he had aquired, the Horseman smashed it with the one pointed towards him. It caused a distraction long enough for him to jump on towards his oponent. It was a fool's move as it netted him a metalic fist to the jaw that knocked him down on the ground. The assassin once again stood over him. Ready to pull the trigger. Nathaniel spat blood towards his executioner as a last show of deffiance. Once again he heard a loud bang as the back of the assassin's head exploded, sending pieces of brain, skull and machinery in several directions. "I wasn't expecting to be the one saving you, but I can't blame you for being caught by surprise." Mordecai calmy said as he walked over to him. Extending a hand, he helped his Horseman get back on his feet. Upon closer inspection, the old man wasnt in that good of a condition. His formal wear having suffered several hits from the assassin's weapons as well as the flesh being singed by burns. "Do not worry avout me my boy. After the last attempt, I took a few liberties to future proof myself... Wished I had future proofed them as well." The note of dissapointment could be heard as they observed the room. For every assassin, there seemed to be ten or more of the Vigil laying dead on the floor. "It apears that promotions are in order as well as quite a few celebrity mournings. Those are always a 'joy' to hear about." "Who..." "Combine. Enterprise. One of those. Looks like your attack might have spurred them to counter-attack us." "The others?" "Oh, they are fine. Gunther took a shot to the knee, and might need to amputate, but he'll be fine." "Executor!" One guard aproached them, panting as he stopped to deliver his message. "The palace, the labs...everywhere. Every strategic and high value point we have is reporting attacks. Most of them have been pushed back and are in pursuit, but...the council. They're dead." "Didn't the executor deal with them?" "He's talking about the one I made to replace them."Mordecai added with a grave tone in his voice. "Are you sure they are dead?" "Yes. Unfortunetly." "What does this mean for us?" "Two things." Mordecai took a few steps, pacing arround the room."First, we have become too overconfident. Enough for our foes to deliver a strike from the shadows without us even having an inkling that they were there." He stopped and looked at them. "Secondly. We have been betrayed. I'll explain later. Nathaniel. Make sure that everyone is returned home safe and have your men begin to root out this infestation! No stone is to be left unturned. I want this filth off my planet!" "And what are we going to do after that?" "We go to war."
"Jesus Christ!" Yelled one of the crusaders underneath his mask as he dropped his rifle and pulled out the shortsword at his hip. Several of the crusaders still defending the generator switched to melee as the Upyri marines closed in on their positions. Inside the generator structure itself a knight observed the reinforced door. In his hands was a heavy laser repeater, a weapon with the ability to shred through most infantry armor types and shields. "Steel yourself brothers and sisters." He said. Next to him a handfull of crusaders nodded, having taken up positions around the small room. Every weapon present inside the structure was aimed at the door. Outside the sound of muffled gunshots and screams could be heard. --- Against all odds the barrages from the Upyri naval vessels managed to pierce the last layers of armor on the Enduring Shield. Missiles and railgun shots pierced several key systems which lead to a devastating chain reaction as the main reactor core exploded. The once majestic battleship saw its last moments descending onto Gargas in an almost beautiful fashion as a fiery aura surrounded the ship. Seconds later it was gone. Millions of metallic pieces combined with orange embers formed an amazing carpet which slowly fell down towards the surface. Jacobs clenched his jaw as he witnessed the destruction of his flagship. He nodded towards the shipmaster who bowed his head. The corvette vanished. --- Several Apostle hovertanks made their way towards the southern side of the dome. Heavy laser projectiles combined with missiles crashed into the SDF positions. OMS riflemen and machinegunners gritted their teeth and continued to lay down supressive fire to buy the Upyri marines more time. "Hold the line!" Yelled Smith as she fired off another burst. Soon the Upyri tanks arrived and began to provide much appreciated support. In the skies several Prophet gunships lined up their shots and prepared to strike. A OMS radioman hunkered down and began to broadcast on local SDF and Upyri military channels. "Defender One! Requesting air support on the southern side! I got eyes on multiple enemy gunships, how copy?"
Eventually, the Marines reached the building. A platoon and a half gone, either dead or injured. "[I need a breaching charge on that door! Now!]" ordered the Lieutenant, pointing at the door to the interior of the shield generator building. A pair of Marines rushed up and prepared a charge on the door. As they did, the Lieutenant turned his attention to the other Marines that arrived. "[I need two teams. One to assist in clearing the generator building and the other to sweep the area and kill the rest of this Creed scum. Once they're all dead, regroup and assist the SDF forces.]" The Marines divided up into two teams, and proceeded with their duties. Alpha team began to search the area surrounding the building, shooting surviving Creed crusaders. Bravo remained with the Lieutenant and prepared to breach once the charge was set. "[Once its open, toss in thermobarics.]" he ordered. They acknowledged the order with a thumbs-up, and waited for the detonation of the charge. "[Three...two...one...NOW.]" said the Lieutenant, and the charge was detonated. The explosive punched the door inward, leaving it in a dented heap inside the building. As soon as the door came down, gunfire errupted from inside. The Creed inside had been waiting for them. "[Thermobarics on three. One...two...THREE.]" One of the Marines yanked the pins on a pair of thermobaric grenades, jogged by the door, and tossed them all inside before diving into cover on the other side of the door. - - - - - - - - - - "Roger that, Defender One. Blue Squadron inbound." responded one Upyri pilots, as the cluster of Dardus-class fighters circled around the shield dome. Soon enough, the enemy gunships were spotted. "Targets acquired, missiles away." stated the pilot, which was followed by a handful of missiles colliding with and damaging some of the gunships as they neared the SDF positions. The fighters zoomed overhead, maneuvering back around for another strike as the remaining gunships attempted to get in a better position to fight off the Upyri fighters. - - - - - - - - - - "[Enemy vessel has been destroyed. Enemy corvette has escaped.]" stated the Major, as he turned to face Vedok on the bridge of the Revelator. "[Good. Prepare to send additional forces to join the SDF and Marine forces on the ground. We eliminate the rest of the Creed, and we'll have Gargas all to ourselves once again.]" he responded with a smile. The Major nodded, and relayed the order to the other ships. "[Debris from the enemy vessel should be arriving at the shield dome and surrounding area in three minutes. Alerting friendly forces.]" said one of the officers nearby. - - - - - - - - - -
Meanwhile, on Mars...
"Stop struggling, those cuffs are just going to get tighter." said Miranda, nudging the man on the ground as he struggled to get his hands out of the magnetized handcuffs she had put on him just moments before. "Who sent you!? H-How much are they payin' you!? I can pay double! No, t-triple!" stammered the Upyri man, wiggling a bit. "Bribes don't work either, so shut up." she muttered, slipping a cigarette into her mouth and lighting it. A few moments later, she heard Lex's voice. "Damn, only two hours in and you've already caught a bounty. And a pretty valuable one at that." she said, walking up with a surprised look on her face. Behind her, a squad of SISP officers. "Well, you know how it goes. These idiots make it easy sometimes." said Miranda, stepping back with a bit of a smirk on her face. The SISP officers approached and arrested the man properly. "Adelar Riesch, also known as Alex Kleinfeld. Upyri male, 158 years old. Wanted for grand theft, extortion, attempted murder." says Lex, as she reads over the holotablet in her hand. "Did you think fleeing the Federation and hiding on Mars would help? Or wearing contacts and getting your fangs removed?" The man grunted, to which Miranda chuckled a bit. "Get someone to change your face next time, or one of those electronic scramblers so the cameras won't recognize you." said Miranda. The SISP officers then hauled him off, with Miranda and Lex following close behind. The bounty was loaded onto an SISP ship, to be transported to Domino Station for processing and delivery to Upyri Federation authorities. Meanwhile, Lex and Miranda boarded the Cornell, ready to head to their next destination. Duroma, after a trio of outlaws that apparently had screwed with the wrong Kanad. Lex thought it was funny, since the Kanads really didn't issue bounties to the B.C.B. all that often. As soon as they were aboard the Cornell, Miranda's audio system started up, playing the last thing she had been listening to. Lex cut Miranda a look, to which Miranda simply laughed. "I'll never get tired of those looks." she said finally, with a grin.

Mattheus listened very carefully to his superior's instructions, and made a mental note of everything that was required to do. When Constantine finished speaking, he replied: "Sir. I can get started on all that right away. I have an idea where to start with everything, so it'll get done. I won't let you down sir, thank you for taking a chance on me." Mattheus saluted the officer, and headed off the bridge towards engineering. He was already planning the repairs out in his head... When he arrived engineering, he saw a mass disarray of parts, people, and repairs being done. It seems the entire effort had little organization behind it, and it was giving his engineering brain an aneurysm. "OK GODDAMNIT. Gotta fix this bullshit first." He thought to himself, and he noticed a microphone next to him labeled "Engineering Section PA". "That'll do!". He picked it up and announced on the PA: "Ahem test. uhh hello. Name's Mattheus, I'm over here!", he waved his hand in the air while he spoke, "I need all you to put down what you're doing and come over here. Order's from Officer Constantine himself." Granted that wasn't entirely true but who was gonna challenge him? He had to organize these repairs to run efficiently. A small crowd of the engineers and repairmen gathered before him, and stood up on one of the boxes so he could be seen. "I'm one of the engineers on the ship and I'll be taking over organizing and helping with repairs. To be frank, your efforts so far have been shit. I'm here to fix that. First off, we've got three things to fix. Weapons, shields, and communications, with the first two being priority. We will be splitting off into three groups to work on these. I need three volunteers to lead each respective group, and report to me on progress or any problems you run into. Who here has any leadership experience?" A couple hands went up and Mattheus picked three random ones out of the crowd, "Alright you...you and you. Stick around after this we'll talk. The rest of you, are going to go about fixing in a systematic way. Begin by taking inventory of all tools and parts we have, and designate a place in the hangars or wherever the repair areas are to have all the tools there to make your life a lot easier. If anything is missing or you require more tools, you inform your lead, or myself and we'll sort that out. Secondly, make a list of all the repairs that need to be done in your section. Walls, individual guns, batteries, shield batteries, etc. whatever it is I want it on a list. You will then begin work on the priorities on those lists. A large gun or missile battery is more important than a tiny point defense, and the shield emitters and turbo encabulators are more important than a broken console. Got it? I'll be coming around to all of you to help out with repairs and make sure everything is in order. Dismissed." The three men who he pointed out stuck around and he greeted them each with a handshake, and began again. "Alright, sorry not one for speeches." He took out another crumbled piece of paper from his pocket with his notes from Constantine. "Alright so the same orders goes to you guys. Get your work space in order before doing anything else. As for when you finish individual repairs, contact Bucky. She and her team are almost done with the reactor repairs. We're not gonna wait for everything to finish to turn it on, so as soon as a system or section is complete contact her and get your sector online. Any defenses we've got are better than none. Lastly, get me any schematics you got of these systems. Something seems off about these designs and the way power is routed. I've got some ideas how we can make it more efficient and close any loopholes that can take these systems down easily. We've gotta beef up these back doors man. Alright now I'm rambling. I want status reports every couple hours on how things are going. Get to work and thanks for volunteering, things like this go a long way with me if you do a good job." Mattheus shook each of their hands again and went on his way to began supervising the repairs and helping the workers. He hasn't felt this type of adrenaline since he first stepped foot on that freighter back on Earth, for the first time on his own. "This is gonna fun."
After Valkyrie left János' room, he was once more alone, with only his thoughts keeping him company. He looked back at the message Taylor had sent him mid-conversation. The idea of Chemosh leaving was something that horrified him, yet gave him relief at the same time. Him leaving would mean that he could possibly leave himself, headed for his fate that was waiting for him on Pakihi. But at the same time, despite not knowing when was the last moment they could've stopped his return, János felt responsible for at least speeding it up. He looked over to his guns, considering the idea of possibly finishing the job himself, making sure Frosty's memory wasn't tainted by Chemosh's return, but as he thought about it, he knew he wasn't strong enough to commit. He sighed. He decided to slowly unhook himself and put everything back as it was, damaged piece included. He didn't remember when he put his pants on, probably before he told Taylor to come to his room to talk, but he slowly put his clothes back on. After putting everything back, he got off his bed and left his quarters. Not everyone left for town, he hoped, so he should see someone as he wandered aimlessly around the ship. He knew at least that he would wait until he spoke with Taylor before he would make his final decision.
"Amelia," a voice whispers, Amelia groans in her bed, "Ameeliaaaa," the voice whispers again, she turns over to the other side, "AMELIA!" the voice yells, sending Amelia into a scream and into a wall. She recovers from the blow to the head, then turns to the voice. It's Porter. "You haven't done jack for a long time Amelia." "Could say the same for you," Amelia caresses her head that unveils a big bump. "C'mon, you've been in this room for a while, let's get out there, eh?" "And do what? I'm too busy with procrastinating." Porter flies her sheets off bringing Amelia onto the floor. "Get dressed and do something," he then walks out and wanders the ship. Amelia groans. It's been so long that she's done something besides video games and personal reading up on science magazines. She promptly gets dressed, frowning while doing so, then heads out of her room, only to notice that no one is there. "HELLO?!" She yells, echoing around the ship, "HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO?!" she screams again in capital bold letters.
"Hello?" János responded, as he walked in the direction of the yelling.
"Hello!" Amelia runs into the direction of the response. After a couple minutes or so, she finally reaches a wild János, "Ah! János! Buddy! Pal! Hello there," she waves, "Is there, erm, well first, what are you doing?"
"Uhm," János scratched the back of his neck, "nothing much, I guess?"
"Nothing?" she groans, dipping her shoulders, "I was hoping there was something to tag along for. Porter left me; he's security with you, right? Has he done anything?"
"I wouldn't exactly call myself security just because I'm a warden," he responded. "So, I don't really know what Porter's been up to. Don't really talk much to him, to be honest." "Also, if you wanted to tag along to something, you could've joined the others earlier. Some folks went to town to do... something. I don't know."
"Ugh," she groans again like a pathetic child, then activates her watch, trying to call Porter. He answers, "Get up yet you worthless idiot?" Amelia hangs up, looks at János, then calls again. He answers with a chuckle, "What are you doing?" "Taking a stroll around the ship, why?" "Come over to where I am and do something." "That's pretty vague, I guess you're bored?" "I have János here, but he's got nothing to do." "So what would having me be there do anything about your inability to be useful?" Porter laughs again. "Shut up and come over here," she hangs up, letting air out of her nose like a broken steam pipe. Amelia looks towards János, "Anything you can share? Any facts about being security? Anything that'll release me from this prison of absolute nothing?"
János thought for a moment to see what he could say. "...I guess I've only done my job like.... 3 or 4 times thus far?" "I mean, there was Harvey first. Then we got Thommas. I think he's still knocking around here somewhere in a cell. Then Maddox got put in a cell before being moved. And then we had Frosty, Moloch and Markus for a short period."
"Same pretty much. I think I've only done my job the same amount of times as you." Porter arrives. "Where have you been this whole time?" Amelia grunts. "Simply patrolling the ship, not many people on here pick fights lots, so my job is easy," Porter stretches his back. "Good to know, now what am I supposed to do? There's nothing to do, at all, nothing." "We already have a job, remember? With those marines." "That's not gunna happen for a while. So I've been quietly relaxing and having fun until you violently tossed me out of bed. Thanks for that." "No problem." Amelia rolls her eyes then turns to János, "So we just sit here, eh? Wait for the crew to return?"
Valk paused for a moment, pulling her welding goggles up and looking around. Who the fuck yelled this time? She sighed and turned her music up louder, before pulling her goggles back down. She was welding armor plating on some of her drones in the Cataract's armory, hoping to give them a bit more protection for combat situations. Eve would also get some armor fitted on her, before she was sent off do command the Adam drones.

She grinded her teeth together a little. Fuck, she was craving a cigarette and Eve wasn't back with them yet. And this yelling and PA bullshit was getting on her nerves which made the cravings worse.
János scratched the back of his neck again. "We could, but, well, that doesn't seem like it would be very entertaining," he commented. "Maybe we could see what's going on outside the ship and on the carrier?" he suggested.
"Sure, you lead on, Porter and I will follow," Amelia answered. Before she takes a step, she just now notices the blaring music coming from across the ship. It's Valk and her music. Loud and annoying. "Actually, wanna stop by Valk and her robots just to chat?"
János groaned a little, since he didn't want to disturb Valk after talking to her earlier. But he guessed that he needed to keep Amelia engaged some way. "If you really want to, I guess?" he responded.
"Epic." Amelia dashes towards Valk's position post haste, bringing Porter and Janos with her as prisoners in her scheme. She arrives at the armory where Valk is using her tools. Walking up to her, she taps her shoulder, then asks, "Whaddaya up to, V?" Amelia smiles.
Valk jumped a bit, and swung around with the welding torch. "Don't fucking scare me like that unless you want your face fucking roasted!" she exclaimed, before reaching over and pausing her music. She lifted her goggles up, then motioned to the drone. "Fucking shit. I'm working on my Adam drones. Giving them extra armor plating so if they get shot at, they won't go down that easy."
Amelia forgot how much of a potty mouth Valk was. She backed up accordingly. "Alright. Just heard your music and wanted to pay ya a visit. Haven't seen you in a while, expected a little greeting, but I forgot Valk is Valk."

After a moment, she finally sighed and rubbed her eyes. "Cravings are getting the best of me. Just don't sneak up on me like that next time. Because I WILL burn you. Also, who the hell yelled a while ago?" she asked, looking between her and her followers.
