"Cheers, murderhobo" He said before drinking another glass.
"Oh, you two have no idea just how lucky you are to have him in your crew. Master Moloch is a man of exceeding character and discipline. He is our most finest person! Do not be afraid, this crew is in good hands!"
"...Right." said Taylor, looking back at the Quds member. "Anyway, try to get along. Any fighting and in the brig you go."
"My inquiries are done here. If you'll excuse me, having to listen to these theatrics are not worth my time."
Taylor stepped out of their way, watching them stroll off to the mess hall. She glanced back at Moloch and the Quds member, before turning and walking off herself. She sent János a message, requesting a complete explanation for what happened when Moloch first came aboard as well as a detailed account of everything that Moloch had told him. She thought Frosty should have some time alone to get used to being back aboard before she spoke to him about what had happened after Moloch took him. She decided to go check on the rest of the crew that were still up, which seemed to have gathered at the bar or were in the medical bay, before heading to the bridge to speak to update Rask. She strolled through the mess hall, passing Yuga and Vakarus, before entering the bar area to see Bucky, Mercy, Alex, and Markus drinking together. "So how are you four doing?" she asked, walking over and propping on the bar, looking down it at the four of them. She tilted her hat back a bit, her tired eyes darting between them.
Maddox got up from his bed after resting for a short moment. He locked the door to his quarters and went through the footage of the mysterious ship which had transported Frosty, Moloch and their entourage. While he wasn't sure what the text really meant he did know that it was a language from the Middle East. Sadly he could not translate it. "That's what you get for studying new chinese and slavic." He thought to himself. He activated a jammer, as to not repeat the same mistake he had done inside the armory, before placing a spike on the floor. The device activated and created a tiny isolated bubble from which no sound could escape. With his perimeter secured Maddox activated his long-range communicator which relayed a new set of codes and callsigns. "Enigma calling Everest. Authorization code zero zero six dash alpha one. ID special opertaive Graves, M. Please confirm." Maddox waited patiently with the communicator next to his face. "Enigma this is Everest, we read you. Report mission status." "Mission status green. Critical intelligence retrieved, relaying package now. Requesting immeadiate response." "Stand by Enigma." Said the voice over the communicator. ----- The intelligence officer turned around with a nervous look on his face. "Sir! You need to see this!" Director Williams walked through the room, passing by numerous workstations manned by SSOID personnel. He stopped and leaned in for a better look. "By Sol..." He mumbled. On the screen were several images and a pair of short recordings which showed one of the last things the directorof the SSOID would ever want to see. First the sighting on Mars and now this. He was deeply concerned. Williams skimmed through the report sent alongside the footage which had been written by special operative Graves. The report clearly stated that the individual identified as 'Moloch' was somekind of spiritual leader or guide. If the SSOID could strike a blow at these figures before they could get to Sol then that could save thousands of lives. He looked at the officer. "Authorize a standing kill order on codename Moloch. Target callsign will be Spirit." The officer nodded. "Yes sir!" ----- Maddox nearly dropped the communicator when Everest started to talk after minutes of silence. "Enigma this is Everest. Kingfish has authorized a kill order on Moloch. Traget callsign is Spirit. Use any means neccessary to neutralize the target while also maintaining your cover. Everest out." Maddox sighed. "Roger Everest. Enigma out." He turned off the communicator and stared at the wall. Kill Moloch? That wasn't going to be easy. He dismantled all his devices and returned them their respective hiding spots before heading towards the armory. He had a weapon to make and person to kill. ----- As Vakarus and Yuga walked towards the messhall, Vakarus looked at Yuga. "Yuga'ayrin, is it true that the Frozen-one is back?"
Yuga kept her gaze forward, "It is indeed true as you might have deciphered due to the presence of the zealot. Mr.Frosty confided some information to me regarding this individual and I certainly do no trust him or anyone affiliated to him." Yuga stopped in the door to the messhall and turned to Vakarus, "Alas, Frosty will be looked after by the crew. You and I must focus on matters to come and not tangle ourselves in these complicated intrigues." She entered the Messhall and then went into the bar. Passing by the counter she looked at Alex, "I would be most grateful I you could prepare a cup of tea for me, Mr. Koronov" she said and went to take a seat in her usual booth. --- Markus looked towards Taylor, "Celebratin' 'nother fine payday, capn'" he said, raising his glass slightly.
The door clicked, Signaling that Frosty didn't want talk at this time. Jason sighs and just wanders off until he reached the Medical Bay where he sees Valk for the first time. Laid out in her bed. Motionless and silent. And the only things that are making sound are the machinery hooked up to Valk in order to keep her from entering the other dimension. Jason walks to where Valk's motionless body is currently at and then Jason grabs a chair and place it near the bed and pointing to where he can see the opposite wall. Jason then sits down and begins to talk even though Valk couldn't hear him nor talk to him back. "You know. I didn't expect to talk to a crew member that I don't even know that well and also talking to her while she's still in a coma. But, I digress. You're probably watching this from some parallel dimension where bad things don't exist and mistakes and failures become some sort of a myth there. I guess these are one of your mistakes? you probably think i'm going insane for talking to you in your comatose state. But my mom always said that "people are sometimes destined to be something their not." I was a bit skeptical but, I understood her very correctly when she said "ones who follow their dreams suffer the most sometimes." Jason then reached for his back pocket, hoping he didn't lose it while being held when he was in Yovak. He grabs hold of it and pulls it out. It was a coin. A silver Sol coin. "When I was ten or twelve years old, my father gave me this coin as a luck token, he said that it if I keep holding on to it. Good things come by your way... 20 hours later, he disappears without any trace on where he's going. Leaving me, my little sister and my mom behind. And its the only remembrance I have of him. But I guess you need the luck most than me. No miracles happen when I hold on to it. But it gives me hope. and you should have that hope inside of you too." Jason then placed the coin in Valk's open palm and closed it. Jason got up from the chair and looked at the infopad that showed her name and statistics. "Nice to meet you, Valencia. although you might not remember this. It's still a pleasure to meet you." Jason headed out and onto his way to the Muramasa's bar.
So how are you four doing?
"Feel emotionally drained and overall useless ever since we landed on that rock." Maybe it was the alchohol talking or maybe it was something else. "I'll get over it."
I would be most grateful I you could prepare a cup of tea for me, Mr. Koronov
"Right. I'll get on that." He got off from his seat and jumped over the counter. He rummaged through the mess and after a few seconds he spoke. "You're in luck Yuga. A few boxes survived." He started making tea.
The Quds member hadn't noticed Maddox enter as he's too busy trying to inspect every detail of Frosty's Warmaster before putting it on the rack. ------------------------------------------------------- Moloch's work in the cargo bay was finished. Everything was arranged the way he thought it should. Though Frosty wasn't feeling very well, and was quite mad at everyone. Perhaps Moloch ought to pay him a visit to let him know he only has Frosty's best intentions in mind, and has no intention of hurting him or anyone else on the crew. After all, he only brought Frosty to Karbala to help him get his memories back and to acquaint him with his past. Whether Frosty liked what he saw or not didn't matter to Moloch, that was who he was, that were his people, and that was his legacy. Frosty needed to understand that. He knocked on Frosty's cabin door, waiting for a response. ------------------------------------------------------- "Mr. Frosty." Frosty raised his head from his sheets to look at who had just called his name. "Mr. Frosty. I do hope you don't mind me coming on board as well." said the Sermon Giver with a smile on his face as he stepped closer to Frosty.
Bucky disdains being ignored. "So if she's your luv, and he's a cunt, what does that make me Markus?" Bucky asks. She takes another shot of tequila. Out of habit she consults her wireless link with the ship in an entopic display. Not liking what she sees, she frowns.
Markus took a swig from small swig from his glass and looked at Bucky, "Well, yer a right handsome sheila, I'll give ye that but..." He leaned towards Bucky, "...Robots ain't my style, luv" he said with a wink.
"Ain't a robot, Markus. Robots just follow one program that's put in their memory, they're simple. Me? I'm an Arti. Artificial Generalized Intelligence to be precise. I'm as adaptable and capable of feeling as you meatbags. To call me a robot is an oversimplification, and displays ignorance. Maybe question something before you label it, alright?" Bucky says with obvious contempt. Right down to her facial expression, she conveys to Markus that he just pulled a dick move.
Maddox eyes the Quds member near the rack. "Can I help you, sir?" He sits down at his desk and brings up his holoscreen and work tablet. ----- Vakarus sits down on the opposite side of the table, facing Yuga. He looks at Alex. "Alex'vakrin, may I ask if there's any meals available?"
János was in his room, thinking of what he'll say to Frosty if and once he decides to come confront him regarding what happened to him while he was out. Yuga most likely painted him an incomplete picture of what happened, which may have contributed to his anger. As he thought, he noticed that Taylor had sent him a message... she's requesting a complete explanation for what happened when Moloch first came aboard as well as a detailed account of everything that Moloch had told him. He sighed. He expected this, albeit earlier. He sent a reply, telling her to come to his room if she wanted to talk about this.
Markus was raising his glass to take another sip when Bucky drops the bomb on him. He put the glass down and leans in towards Bucky with a furrowed brows, "I'm a simple man, luv. Oversimplification an' ignorance's my forte. An' frankly..." he pauses, raising an eyebrow, "I don' get paid to give a shit."
"Merely inspecting your handiwork, Mr. Graves, and also holding Mr. Frosty's Warmaster for one last time." He put the weapon on a rack and turned to Maddox. "Very impressive what you did with such an ancient weapon of ours, I must say."
Taylor listened to Bucky and Markus exchange words before putting in her two cents. Hopefully this wouldn't escalate much. She already had enough to deal with with Moloch being aboard. She tapped the bar, then straightened up and sighed before checking her holotablet to see if János had responded. He had, asking her to come to his room so they could talk. Finally, some answers. "Keep it civil." she said, before departing from the bar, passing Jason as he came in. She glanced over towards the armory entrance, to see that the door was open and that Mad was talking to one of those Quds guys. She didn't trust them. Too upbeat, and singing high praises of Moloch. She continued on, heading over to the Crew Quarters and knocking on János' door. "Its Caine." she said simply.
Maddox nodded. "I always appreciate kind words." He pointed towards the Warmaster and the other weapons in Frosty's arsenal. "To tell the truth it was a interesting challenge, and I'm not one to back down from a new experience." Maddox worked on his tablet and looked up. "Your man Moloch seems to alot like that too, is it true that he helped Frosty... back?"
Bucky looks at Markus with disdain. She seems undeterred by his attitude. "Maybe you should, seeing as you've got an electron matrix transfer axon going right under your quarters. If I don't do regular maintnence on that, it might develop a nasty fray and short out everything in there. It might even ground into your bed frame.... And that'd be a real shame. But hey, I don't get paid to give a shit." She meets his eyes unwaveringly. Markus gets the impression that Bucky has dealt with his ilk before.
Mercy passes a few, somewhat amused glances between Markus and Bucky as she polishes off her second glass. She pours herself yet another glass and leans back some so the two can see eachother better.
"Well, let me see what we got."Alex said as he handed Yuga her tea. He went in the kitchen and came back in 10 seconds later. "Good news. We wont be stuck with fish for a month solid. Bad news. The place is a mess and a lot of our food is not fit for consuption because of the power and gravity going out. So we need to stop for supplies somewhere or ask the Argos guys for something. So who wants leftover giga-shrimp?"
"Come in," János said plainly in response to Taylor.
Vakarus raised his hand. "Alex'vakrin, I will feast on the meal you call 'giga-shrimp'."
"Yes. I understand Moloch can be quite intimidating, especially due to his appearance, but the man himself is a miracle worker. I myself can testify to this. Many years ago, I had fought in a battle against pirates which I had almost died in. A mortar had landed in front of me, penetrating me with shrapnel, one of which was an inch away from my heart. When I was dragged back to the camp, Moloch decided to operate on me. He pulled every bit of shrapnel out of me, but I felt no pain. He opened up my body as well and mended my wounds only needing his hands, but I still felt no pain. After several moments of being connected to an IV and a blood bag, I was good as new. And Mr. Frosty was no different to him, as him simply walking again may testify. Whenever you are injured, Mr. Graves, do not hesitate to consult Moloch to heal your wounds."
Maddox nodded and grunted, as if he was impressed. In reality he could only think of his mission. If Moloch could heal people with his bare hands, what else could he do? "Sounds impressive. I'm sure the rest of our medics will appreciate the help." Maddox looked at the Quds member. "Our last mission went pretty bad, lots of heavy injuries."
Taylor enters János room, easing the door open and stepping inside before shutting it behind her. "Moloch." she said simply.
"Our last mission went pretty bad, lots of heavy injuries."
"Oh? How many injured, and do they need help?" said the Quds member.
János stretched, grunting as he did, despite not being human. He looked up at Taylor from his computer chair. He got off of it and sat down onto the metal bed next to the table, motioning the Captain to sit in the computer chair.
Alex handed Vakarus a container for leftover food and a fork. "Ovens are out of order, so you have to eat it cold."
Maddox got up from his seat and leaned towards the desk. "Several. Two are still in the medbay. It's a miracle that they survived to be honest. One of them was sent flying out a armored vehicle which exploded." Maddox sighed. "The other was carrying a rocket, a rocket I was supposed to carry, which was struck by a sniper shot. The rocket was next to her head." ----- Vakarus bowed his head. "Naturally Alex'vakrin, thank you."
Taylor sat down, sitting back and folding her arms. "I need to know everything. What happened on the ship when Moloch first came aboard. As well as everything Moloch talked to you about and told you." After János, she'd head to the bridge and update Rask. Then, Frosty would come later.
"That sounds extremely painful, Mr. Graves. Should I inform Moloch to perform a checkup?"
