Now, I'm not sure if this is a good improvement or not. I primarily used GeaCron for this edit, aswell as other sources, but I'm still not sure if it is a accurate map.
Changes include:
- Italian Aegean Islands
- Minor changes to colonial Africa (such as British Gambia)
- Changes in the Carribean (British West Indies, American Virgin Islands)
- Changes in Asia (Portuguese Goa and Macau, British Hong Kong, British Cocos and Christmas Islands)
- some other change I might've forgotten
Shouldn't we include west & east Berlin?
Shouldn't we include west & east Berlin?
That would require yet another province modification.
I'll do it.

Events of summer 1947:
- All across the world after years of hard fighting, soldiers, sailors, airmen and POW's are finally coming home. Talks of releasing occupied countries also begins. Japan already has much more freedom and government autonomy than Germany and Austria, who are still divided up into allied occupation zones. Some countries such as France are very hesitant to release Germany and Austria.
- As the power of the Eastern Bloc and the Allies grow, it is becoming more obvious to the West and the East that each of them has a new enemy growing on opposite sides of Europe. According to former British Prime Minister, Mister Winston Churchill "From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic, an iron curtain has descended across the Continent."
- On July 8th, 1947 an unknown object crashed in the deserts of Roswell, New Mexico. The US Military assures the people of Roswell and the American people that it was just a weather balloon, and nothing else. Seriously stop asking. It was just a balloon.
- The Soviet Union has created the Eastern Bloc, consisting of most of the countries east of Berlin. However there are some hold-out nations who are doing their best to have free and fair elections, but are finding it harder every day as Soviet pressure on them grows daily.

German Provisional Authorities in Allied-Occupied Germany - Mallow234
- A group of Authorities are formed in Dusseldorf, made up of notable Anti-Nazis, Red Cross Members, Allied Commanders, and German politicians who had no Nazi affiliation. Their goal is to begin the proper steps into creating a German state. This group has much work ahead of them however, as much of Germany still lays in ruins, both economically and the fact that 90% of all German cities are one giant crater.
- After having to basically mail every country in the western hemisphere to let them know that actually exist. This group of authorities starts to receive grants, donations and checks from all over the world, both from Countries such as Switzerland and the United Kingdom, who both gave a generous amount of money to start rebuilding infrastructure and cities, and smaller checks from private donors all over the world. One such donor is the Coca Cola company, who has already moved into West Germany and has begun building factories and selling their soft drink to the Germany people. Much work is still ahead however and it will take years to get Germany back on it's feet.
- The Provisional Authorities begin to pressure foreign nations to start sending displaced people and POW's home. Many of the soldiers who fought on the western front have already returned home and been re-united with their families, however the thousands of men who fought on the eastern front haven't been heard from yet, and many are still in prison camps in Russia.
- The printing of a new currency begins to replace the worthless Reichsmark. The new bill is simply called a Mark, and quickly gains popularity in Western Germany, being propped up by The United Kingdom this bill actually manages to stay at a moderate price. It is still very weak, but has a bright future if it stays on it's current track.
- Many Ex-Nazis are finding themselves in the hands of the Provisional Authorities, who almost immediately hand them over to the Allies. This helps improve their relationship with the Allies greatly, many of which are calling for this Provisional Authority to become the new government of a free Germany. With the Threat of the USSR growing in the east, the United Kingdom has already begun to take steps to release this Government as the new Germany, with their capital being Hamburg.

United Mexican States - Satansick
- Mexican scientists begin to look into genetic modification, however this goes at an extremely slow pace, they only know about artificial selection and mutagenesis, but they currently lack the power and that kind of knowledge to press much further into this sector of science.
- Many Mexican soldiers are finally starting to return home. Although Mexico only played a minor part on the Allied side during the war, they had men helping in the occupation of both Japan and Austria. When they finally arrive home they find many jobs still open to them as the government has recently started a campaign to improve infrastructure all over Mexico. After a few mere months, a three-lane highway is already running from Mexico City to Veracruz.
- Mexico begins to buy surplus small-arms, aircraft, and vehicles from the United States in bulk. Now that the war is over the Mexican military is able to get this military equipment extremely cheap from the US.
- The Oficina Federal de Inteligencia is founded in Mexico City. As the Soviet Union grows in power every day, and although small there is communist dissent in both Mexico and South America the Mexican government decided to create their own Federal Intelligence agency, mainly concentrating on Counter-Espionage.
- The Mexican government raises import controls on consumer goods, which astually gives a large kick to Mexican industry as businessmen across the country realize that it would be much cheaper to make these items in Mexico, rather than import them. At the same time they relax them on capital goods, which it purchases with international reserves accumulated during the war.

The Republic of France - Eli45
- Using their own knowledge of aerodynamics, and a little copying from the British Meteor, The German Me-262 and the American F-80 the French begin to build their own fighter jet. This plane has a 35 degree wing sweep for maximum aircraft performance, an improved Rolls-Royce RB.44 Tay engine with 34.32 kN of thrust situated on the rear end of the aircraft, and would be equipped with either 4 20mm Hispano cannons. It is still in it's experimental phase and has much work still to be done. It is simply called the PA-61.
- Problems begin to heat up in French Indochina, as communist ideals are beginning to spread like wildfire. In response the French government sends 5 divisions of French soldiers equipped for jungle warfare to Indochina. They are garrisoned in Saigon and are told to await further orders.
- Infrastructure repairs begin to go underway in France. Although France has already been liberated for two years, there is still a decent amount of work to be done fixing roads, rail lines and bridges. Not to mention that many towns and cities still have a decent amount of damage to be repaired. The towns and villages on the French-German border still require the most work as some of these towns were seeing fighting till the last days of the war.
- France Appeals to the USA to help in the current conflict that is starting to brew in China. They are unable to supply any soldiers but offer logistical support to the French, saying they are still very occupied with managing Europe and Japan.

The Republic of Italy - kiloy
- The recently created government of Italy looks into creating a jet fighter. They decide to look into the Caproni Campini N.1, an experimental plane that had been designed by Mussolini's government. It still has much to be improved upon, such a poor fuel economy and a very low thrust output.
- Not much else happens in Italy this season. Construction and re-building in Northern Italy continues, as much of the area is still damaged as it was a front-line up until the last few days of the war.

Communist Part of China - Sobotnik
- The Green revolution begins in Communist controlled Manchuria. Focusing on cheap foods such as rice, and using very fertile soil and growing conditions they are able to make a large surplus of food, which is a rarity in China after the war. The Communists find this to be a very useful tool as hunger and the promise of food is making many farmers and poorer Chinese civilians flood towards Communist Manchuria in droves.
- The second war of liberation begins in China. After calling a truce to fight the Japanese during the war, the two Chinas once again get back to killing each other. Using what little resources they have and Fabian tactics the Communist forces are able to wear down Nationalist forces are currently stationed in Manchuria.
- Using faked retreats and false tactics they are able to convince the Nationalist forces to attack the Communist capital of Yan'an. Taking the bait the nationalists assault the capital. The communist forces had planned for this to happen and flank the attacking Nationalist army over the Huanghe river and the Dabie Mountains, encircling the Nationalist forces. Although the Communists are under-equipped and not nearly as well armed as the Nationalists, they are able to wear them down until the whole attacking army, unable to escape the encirclement, surrenders.
- With one of the largest Nationalist armies in the Manchuria area destroyed, the Communists are able to march on the cities of Shenyang and Chanchung, effectively securing all of Manchuria, and with that a large number of people willing to fight for the communists.
- After securing Manchuria the Communists have a large industrial base that had been set up in years prior during the Japanese occupation. The factories are ordered to produce munitions and armaments, while farms are to produce food for our hungry soldiers. The peasantry is keep on the Communists side by the surplus of food that is keeping them well fed.
- Finally the Communists send out diplomats to the Soviet Union and Soviet occupied North Korea, asking for aid, weaponry and support. and to improve relations with Stalin and Kim Il sung. Almost immediately the Soviets answer Communist China's call for aid. Large stocks of surplus Mosins, PPsH's, and Svt-40's, and early-war T-34's are to be shipped by train to Manchuria. Both of these shipments are expected to arrive in the winter. Along with these much needed supplies, Mao is finding his government's coffers filled with large amounts of Soviet money for "Disaster Relief."
- Mao Zedong gave a speech to his people once Manchuria had been secured by the Communists:
"Since U.S. imperialism and its running dog Chiang Kai-shek have taken the place of Japanese imperialism and its running dog Wang Ching-wei and adopted the policies of turning China into a U.S. colony, launching a civil war and strengthening the fascist dictatorship, they have declared themselves to be enemies of the entire Chinese people and driven all strata of the people to the brink of starvation and death. This has compelled all strata of the people to unite in a life-and-death struggle against the reactionary Chiang Kai-shek government and brought about the speedy development of that struggle. For the people there is no other way out. The strata of the Chinese people oppressed by the reactionary policies of the Chiang Kai-shek government and united for their own salvation include the workers, peasants, urban petty bourgeoisie, national bourgeoisie, enlightened gentry, other patriotic elements, the minority nationalities and overseas Chinese. This is a very broad national united front."

Republic of Brazil - YogiTheWise
- After seeing the destruction of the atomic bomb, the Brazilian government looked at it and went "I want that." After appealing to the US multiple times with no response, the Brazilian government looks into enriching Uranium themselves. This however, will take years before anything that can even remotely be called a bomb is made, unless they get some outside help.
- As all of the Brazilian soldiers begin to return home, anti-dictator sentiment began to rise. It was only a matter of time before something bad happened. On the night of May 14th, 1947 the home of Getúlio Vargas was raided by not an angry mob, but his own personal bodyguards and one of his own generals. Vargas was pulled from his bed and promptly hung from his bedroom balcony. The next day the Brazilian government took control of the government and free and fair democratic elections were held in July.
- After the Coup, the new democratic government re-counted their military state. The Brazilian military was strong in numbers but was lacking very heavily in modern equipment. They mostly used early-war american weaponry.
- Following the Coup, the new government begins to attempt to improve relations with it's neighboring countries with moderate success.

Czechoslovakia - StaleRye
- The newly freed Czech government looks into improving it's weaponry. Taking inspiration from the German G43, and the Russian SvT 40, they create the Vz. 52 semi-automatic rifle. They are slow to produce this rifle in large numbers, due to much of Czechoslovakia still being damaged, so they have to still mainly rely on Mosins and PPsH's.
- The Czech military is re-organized after the dust settles, and is reformed into a somewhat decent fighting force, there is still a large shortage of men in the military, this is only complicated by the Czech government's attempt to keep Communists out of the military resulting in very low manpower and a lack of officers/
- The Czech government sets for elections to be planned in the fall of 1947, where the people can decide who they want to rule their recently freed country. The polls so far show there there is a very strong tie between the Liberal Democrats and the Socialist party.
- Large steps are taken to modernize Czechoslovakia. Roads and railroads are repaired with much help from the nearby Soviets. Because of this help, and the lack of aid from the Western powers, more and more Czech people are warming up to the Soviet Union, some requesting closer ties with their neighboring super-power.
- The Czech government appeals to the West for aid as well but the United States is very quiet. They do however, receive a decent amount of supplies and money to rebuild their nation from the United Kingdom and France.

The People's Republic of Poland -Griffster26
- The Polish military adopts a Polish version of the Soviet SKS, calling it the KbKwz. 47, which is basically a direct copy of the SKS but made right here in the homeland.
- Following the USSR's military, and having already been a satellite of the Soviets for two years, the Polish military already resembles the Soviets quite well. Adding to the finishing touches, the Polish begin to import a large amount of T-34's, and IS-1's.
- Re-construction begins in Poland. Everything from Roads to dams needs to be re-built. This process will take years and massive amounts of money, Which the Soviet Union is more than willing to part with in order to increase relations with Poland. Around mid-July, re-construction is at a steady pace, but it will be years before thing will completely return to normal in Poland.
- Poland joins the New Comintern the Soviet Union is forming.
- Poland signs the UN Charter, and Bolesław Bierut wins the election in Poland, although not exactly fair, he wins though fraud, blackmail, and armed militias.

Soviet Union - Sega Saturn
- The Soviet Union presses the MiG-9 "Fargo" into development, hoping to phase out all propeller fighter aircraft by the early 50's. Research and test flights begin on a second Soviet jet fighter, the MiG-15 "Fagot" which can be expected to finish testing by September 1948.
- Production of the SKS increases, but due to the change in caliber of the ammunition, these rifles won't be issued to front line units until they have enough to phase the Mosin out of front line duty, hoping to do this by 1950, and to have the SvT-40 only issued to reserve units. They hope to have the SvT out of service by 1955.
- Meanwhile production of the AK-47 continues. The Soviet military stresses that all problems with this rifle is sorted out so they don't have to use milled components.
- Answering Communist China's call for aid, large stocks of surplus Mosins, PPsH's, and Svt-40's are shipped to the Communist government free of charge, or dirt cheap. Along with these weapons a large number of early-war T-34's are shipped by train to Manchuria. Both of these shipments are expected to arrive in the winter.
- Stalin begins visiting a psychoanalyst and is convinced to try medication to ease his anxiety. This eventually leads to secret efforts to treat his rampant paranoia, which only seems to be increasing with every person he kills for thinking they will betray him. The Soviet government may be trying to deny it, but Stalin is slowly losing his mind.
- Labor camps are reformed to be more humane- sentences are reduced, rations are increased, and workloads are lightened. Scientists and engineers are targeted for early release. Many of the German POW's and political prisoners who are still stuck in these camps report their conditions have improved from "Hell-like" to "Really Shitty."
- Trofim Lysenko, political leader of the USSR's agricultural development, is diagnosed with late-stage cancer, which he likely obtained while working with carcinogenic chemicals to produce unusual fertilizers. He immediately steps down from his position to seek treatment, but dies very suddenly two months later. Stalin attends his funeral.
- The Soviets make sure to keep a tight grip on Eastern Bloc countries such as Poland and East Germany. Any trouble-makers are put down quickly and quietly. One issue that seems to be taking priority is the free election that is taking place in Czechoslovakia, where it is currently tied between a Socialist and a Liberal Democrat. At the same time the Soviets begin to re-build Eastern Europe.

Someone has taken the US
I just need Mr. Soviet to friend my ass so we can discuss the KMT among other things.
I just had Poland rudely log off in the middle of a conversation with me, and then West Germany did the exact same thing ten minutes later. This isn't the way to conduct diplomacy; I'm less inclined to work with either of you if you only want to lob your two cents at me and then leave.
Alright, West Germany has gotten back to me at least.
