- After many months of talks with Allied leaders, the Provisional Government of West Germany is granted independence from Allied occupation, under agreement from all three of the Allied countries that were occupying western Germany. This German state is to be known as the Federal Republic of Germany, the capital of this new free German state is the city of Bonn. Elections are held within days of the forming of this new nation, with Konrad Adenauer voted in as chancellor, and Ludwig Erhard voted as the new Economics Minister.
- To boost economic power, taxes are lowered and free market economics are encouraged with state support. With this new economic policy and the large influx of money and building supplies provided by the United States with the Marshall Plan the Federal Republic of Germany is able to begin rebuilding add a very rapid pace. In particular, the Rhur river valley, which been very heavily damaged during the war is already back up to 70 percent of its past production capacity. By 1951 this is expected to have doubled and be producing twice the amount what it was before the war.
- The new government of West Germany purchases a small amount of Centurion tanks from the United Kingdom, using these tanks German scientists begin to look into ways to better protect tanks and their crews. The result of this research is a type of armor called reactive armor. The concept behind this armor is that when an anti-tank shell comes in contact with this armor, the armor changes the velocity of the shell, greatly reducing its piercing power. This new type of armor is still very much in testing and it will take a few years before this armor finds itself being used on tanks.

- The Mexican military begins to make its own version of an assault rifle. Copying what is known from the Germans and the Americans they begin to make a prototype assault rifle calling it the MI-50. This weapon best resembles a German StG-44. It currently has many design flaws, such as horrible performance in desert and jungle conditions. Because of these setbacks, the rifle is not expected to be out of testing until mid-1950
-The Mexican government agrees to expand public school funding; receiving Millions more every year schools are able to expand many different classes such as history, math and history, along with college preparatory classes. Along with the expanded classes, physical education classes are expanded as well, now consisting of sports such as boxing, soccer, ballet, and ironically bullfighting, which is quickly taken out of physical education classes after realizing that getting gored by bull is actually pretty common.
-Mexico lowers the minimum wage in all sectors, which at first causes backlash from both the rich all the way down to the poor. To counter the lower minimum wage the government lowered taxes and set the voting age to 16. This is found appealing by many and many people actually enjoy the falling prices on consumer goods that this tax cut has created.
-Mexico goes to both the Soviet Union and the United States how to ask for financial aid. Receiving no response from the Soviet Union, they look to the United States for help. their call for help is answered by receiving ace small amount of money from the Marshall Plan, although not receiving nearly as much as countries such as Germany and Austria, the money they receive is still very welcome and put it to good use.
-Mexico asks the United States to lower border and trade tariffs to help create a mutually beneficial trade and economic partnership.

- While work on the PA-61, now re-named to the IF-51 "Vipere" continues, the French begin work on the MAS-49 semi-automatic rifle. This rifle is highly accurate in very cheap to produce, although it is still under testing and won't be expected to reach full production until 1949.
- French politicians attempt to grant Vietnam independence through the Treaty of Vietnam. After minutes of discussion with Ho Chi Minh who would be given rule over Vietnam, it is very apparent that he is asking for too much for France to accept this deal. He is demanding large amounts of money for Vietnam as payment for all the years under French control. After mere minutes of talks he storms out of the meeting saying the French will pay for their ignorance.
- After the Treaty is unsuccessful French troops are moving to cities of Hanoi, Nam dinh, Cao Bang, and Lai Khe, with the 5th division staying in Hanoi. The French Navy is moved to the Port of Hanoi, and recently obtained P-47's from the United States are sent to Phan Rang airbase and are told to await orders.
After only a few weeks French officials begin to notice small amounts of unrest in Vietnam, talks of communism can be heard whispered back and forth between people on the street. It seems is only a matter of time before discontent in Vietnam begins to rise at an unstoppable rate.
- Repair projects continue around France. Receiving money from the Marshall Plan this process is sped up quite rapidly. Only a few particular areas are still in need of repair, but for the most part life in France is returning to normal. Roads are repaired, electricity is restored, people have food on the table, they once again have a roof over their heads and maybe most importantly the people of France are happy once again and morale is at an all-time high across the country.
- The French military begins to purchase multiple aircraft and small arms from the United States, at least until the MAS-49 has entered full production. Along with military supplies, France also accepts the United States offer of logistical support in Vietnam.
- France returns all German POWs that are still held in France to the newly formed West Germany. Along with sending all of the POWs home, France give the newly formed German government affair sum of money to help rebuild infrastructure around Germany.

Copying engine models from both the British and the French they are able to create a formidable jet fighter aircraft. Although still in testing this aircraft can expect to reach full production buy winter 1949.
- The Italian military begins once again to expand, still very low on manpower and on decent equipment; this military is more of a defense force. But a strong officer corps is set up to begin training a new military. It will still take many years before the Italian military illegal to reach its former glory.
- The Italian government set up an embassy in Paris in hopes to strengthen ties with France.

[B]Communist Part of China - Sobotnik[/B]
- Chinese scientists, following along with the ideals off the Green Revolution begin to look into hybridizing rice. This rice would be high yielding and be able to absorb nitrogen from the soil much more efficiently. It will take the few years of breeding different types of rice, but this could lead to an abundance of food in Communist China.
- The war of liberation continues in northern China, now supplied with large amounts of old Soviet T34's, weapons, and equipment along with 50,000 well trained Polish volunteers and an abundance of captured KMT equipment the Communists begin to get the upper hand. In late October, the communist forces reach the Great Wall as they begin to push on to Luoyang in order to cut off the KMT from Xi'an. After the KMT is cut off from Xi'an the movie out on Jinan, and capture Shangdong province. A Majority of the KMT is routed or surrenders. Around 6000 KMT Service members are now stranded on the peninsula of Shangdong. The Communists offer any captured KMT soldiers a pardon if they will fight for the Communist side.
- With breathing space in Manchuria, agriculture is expanded greatly. Grain markets begin to open once more where peasants can sell their spare food and buy necessary goods they need to live at home. Along with the markets reopening, cafes, workshops, and restaurants begin to open and operate freely.
- With all of the extra money laying around and the fact that the peasants cannot buy much consumer goods due to the war, the communist government encourages them to buy "rice bonds." In effect it is a type of loan, where credit is used to secure a steady supply of cheap food and services for the army. As a positive side effect, this encourages peasants to grow more, sell it, and receive credit in the process. Much of this food is loaded onto trains and sent back to the Soviet Union and Poland as payment for help in the war.
- Mao Zedong gave another speech atop the Great Wall after it was captured by communist forces. “The Chinese people's revolutionary war has now reached a turning point. That is, the Chinese People's Liberation Army has beaten back the offensive of several million reactionary troops of Chiang Kai-shek, the running dog of the United States of America, and gone over to the offensive. Already in the first year of the present war, from July 1946 to June 1947, the People's Liberation Army beat back Chiang Kai-shek's offensive on several fronts and forced him onto the defensive. And beginning with the first quarter of the second year of the war, July-September 1947, the People's Liberation Army went over to the offensive on a national scale and wrecked Chiang Kai-shek's counter-revolutionary plan of continuing to carry the war into the Liberated Areas in order to destroy them completely. Now the war is no longer being fought chiefly in the Liberated Areas but in the Kuomintang areas; the main forces of the People's Liberation Army have carried the fight into the Kuomintang areas. In this land of China, the People's Liberation Army has turned back the wheel of counterrevolution -- of U.S. imperialism and its lackey, the Chiang Kai-shek bandit gang -- and sent it down the road to destruction and has pushed the wheel of revolution forward along the road to victory. This is a turning point in history.”

- With the help of some German immigrants, whom the Brazilian government claims have no Nazi affiliation at all, the Brazilians are able to develop a prototype nuclear bomb. This bomb is very weak and is expected to only have half the power off the bombs dropped on Japan in the final days of the war.
- Using recently purchased weapons from the United States the Brazilian military begins to push paramilitary supporters of the previous regime into the jungles of the Amazon, capturing and killing many along the way, the survivors, both beaten and bloodied flee deep into the jungle. The new government is more than happy to let them all die of malaria in the jungle.
- Local businesses and Industry across the country are offered loans with very low interest rates. This allows many of these businesses and companies how to expand quite rapidly. Cities such as Rio de Janeiro in San Paulo witness a huge growth in the industrial sector, giving many of the Poor in both of these cities jobs, and a decent flow of income. Because of this many of the slums around these cities begin to shrink as people can move into real homes.
-To help industry grow Brazil takes advantage of Mexico's reduced tariffs, and lowers their own tariffs. This agreement allows Brazil's growing industrial base to have a steady stream of supplies and raw materials.

- Czechoslovakian scientists begin to look into computers; there has already been a stride in basic computing technology in the past 10 years, with basic computing devices, things such as decoders and radar. They take computing a step further and begin to use computers to compute different types of equations varying degrees and difficulty. As of now, these computers can only compute basic mathematical equations. In time with much work, these computers can be expected calculate things such as locations around the globe, weapon trajectories and distance, and maybe even for personal use.
- Election Day finally rolls around in Czechoslovakia, with the largest turnout of voters ever recorded. Lines at the polls stay long through the day, as many different parties run for control over the country. The current president of Czechoslovakia has recently Shawn some backbone and stands firmly against any communist or socialist incursion into the country. The president has ex-Soviet prisoners speak out against communism, in favor of capitalism and the West.
- When the polls finally close that night, the Liberal Democrats won by only 200 votes. Many people angrily demand a recount and blame the president of voting fraud. Things only get worse when the Prague police are ordered to disperse a group of pro-socialist protesters gathering outside of Parliament. When the police arrive, wearing full riot protection gear, and armed with police batons and the new Vz.52 rifle this protest quickly turns into a full scale riot. The police are unable to stop the riot and are forced to fire on a group of protesters who attacked the officers. In a matter of days the city becomes divided between pro-west and pro-east groups. These groups are openly violent to each other, and Prague's police force is becoming overwhelmed. In eastern Slovakia, talks of secession and joining the Soviet Union are becoming quite common as pro-communist militias begin to form in the east. If the Czechoslovakian government does not act quickly, they could face a full Civil War in a matter of weeks.

- Polish Military engineers get the contracts and blueprints to begin construction of the T-54, renaming it to the Tk-54, and using parts and components made in Poland, this tank is expected to become the main battle tank for the Polish military by mid-1950.
- The PEC is formed, a Polish expeditionary force that is sent to Communist China to aid the communists in the civil war, consisting of 50,000 men they are equipped with the best weaponry and equipment available. Sent by train across Siberia, they arrive in Manchuria in November --1947, and are placed under the command of one of the best Chinese commanders at the time.
- vz.52s are bought in bulk from Czechoslovakia, after a few months, this rifle along with the KbKwz. 47 are the main rifle of the Polish military with most Mosin’s and SvT-40s now issued only to reserve units, police, or sowed away in armories.
- A group of prominent government officials start the Neo-Comintern. Comparable to the comintern that the Soviet Union had formed with all of it’s puppets back during the Second World war, this comintern plans to unite all of the communist countries around the world in a single, unified alliance. This group is recognized almost immediately by the Polish government, and they make no haste in expanding offers to other communist countries around the world, such as Communist China and the Soviets.
Re-construction continues around Poland. With all of the aid received from the Soviets and other benefactors, life has almost returned to normal back in Poland, with the exception of some towns on the German border that saw fighting up until the last few weeks of the war. However, most citizens have a roof over their heads again, electricity, running water, and heat all in the form of dreary cement tenements. These buildings might be ugly to look at, but no one is complaining.

- In the deep woods of Siberia, Soviet scientists begin to look into the power of the atom. Using information they already had, along with information they were able to acquire from the United States and Nazi scientists that defected to the Soviets in the last days of the war they are able to create their first nuclear bomb, nicknaming it Lenin I. Tests for Lenin I are expected to begin next summer.
- Soviet strategists recommend greater experimentation in air-mobile tactics, as a result a large paratrooper training facility is set up in Leningrad, the newly formed units that come out of this facility are the first units of the newly formed VDV, the Soviet paratrooper brigade.
- As the war in China begins to tip in favor of Communists, the Soviets increased their supply efforts dramatically. Thousands of tanks, vehicles, supplies and weapons are sent to Manchuria via the Trans-Siberian Railway.
- Stalin tasks Yugoslavia with a mission to assist a Communist revolution in Greece, supplied with the best weapons and equipment the Soviets have to offer and as much funding and other resources they need Stalin expect them to insure a perfect victory in Greece.
- Stalin is given a drug cocktail in hopes suppressing his paranoia, instead in a drug induced stupor, delivers in an hour long speech rambling to his cabinet with nonsensical claims about himself and the world around him.
- Stalin’s psychologist is executed.
- Although Stalin's speech isn't broadcasted, it damages his reputation with many government members, now whom are questioning his leadership skills quite openly.
- The Soviet Union and the government of West Germany begin correspondence. Plans are made to have a formal meeting sometime in 1948 to discuss POWs, West Berlin and Border Control.
- The Soviets begin to take steps to set up a civil authority in East Germany. High ranking German politicians are selected to take leadership positions in this newly forming government of East Germany. At the rate things are going, East Germany can be expected to be released by winter 1948.

The United States begins building jet engines en-masse. As the US military continues to pump out the F-80 in rapidly increasing numbers they are planning to have 40% of the air force consisting of jet aircraft by 1952. Prop planes are to be designated as ground-attack aircraft and are to play a more secondary role compared to jets, which are going to completely take the role of fighter aircraft.
- Along with pumping out jet engines in increasing numbers, the military begins construction of the T30, to counter the threat of the Soviet IS, and T-54. 25,000 are ordered along with 10,000 Pershing tanks. This order will take some time to fill as the US economy and industrial sector are returning to a civilian economy, but this order can be expected to be filled out by next June.
- The United States releases South Korea after installing a Pro-West and Capitalist regime. The US leaves a garrison of 25,000 marines at Inchon, along with US bases all around the country. These marines are tasked with training the newly formed South Korean military, and overseeing the equipping of this new military with US-made weaponry. Along with these imported US weapons, the US Government gives manufacturing licenses to Korean arms producers to make Korean copies of the M1, Thompson SMG, BAR, along with various handguns, machineguns, and infantry equipment.
- On the home front, things couldn’t be better for the American people. GI’s are coming home and starting families, going to school, and creating their own businesses all on wonderful, government-paid GI Bill. Employment is at an all-time low as morale in America soars to all-time high. With a booming population and a very happy populace, the American industrial sector has doubled since in the war ended in 45’.
- A new phenomenon is happening all across America. People, especially GI’s are moving to the outskirts of cities in these new residential zones called “Suburbs.” These suburbs can expand for miles, with identical looking houses all with a house big enough to raise a family and a big enough plot of land to have a decently sized yard. Many people are saying living in these suburbs and raising a family are exactly what the “American Dream” is.
- The United States enacts the Marshall Plan, which is designed to help rebuild European economies, cities and infrastructure. Millions of dollars are given to European countries to help with this endeavor. Countries such as West Germany and Austria especially benefit from this plan. Although the Marshall Plan is exactly what Europe needs to get back on its feet it will take years before Europe is back to its pre-war standard.
- With the threat of another world war looming the United States sets up a reserve war fund. Currently containing 80 million dollars, this fund is only to be used in case of all-out war. This fund will obviously grow over time but for now it is set at 80 million dollars.

- With the British having loosened their grip on India significantly, the Muslim majority in Pakistan demands to be released as their own independent country. When this fails they openly declare war on India. In response the Indian military sends a large army detachment to the border with Pakistan. Although the Pakistani military isn't nearly as well equipped as the Indians they are well dug in and are so far waging a very effective guerrilla war against the Indian military sent to Pakistan.
- India signs the instrument of Accession, which enabled the rulers of the princely states under British rule to join one of the new Dominions of India or Pakistan created by the partition of British India.

- The British take particular interest in the American scientist Norman Borlaug, who is known throughout the United States and Mexico for his research he has done on the crop wheat. The British hire him and give him all the necessary funding and tools he needs to begin to research better breeding for wheat. He begins to research ways to better improve wheat's resistance to disease and other pathogens. He this by cross breeding different types of wheat with different immunities two different types of pathogens. Initial tests are very successful, and research will continue into looking into ways to better have wheat survive in the hearty English countryside.
- The British began to pull all occupational forces out of Germany, all men have returned home by November 1947. Along with all British soldiers returning home, the British release all German POW's back to West Germany.
- Reforms take place in the British Parliament; the prime ministers power is greatly reduced. He now acts more as a diplomat than a figure of power, with all power being given to the voting power of the British Parliament. This is considered a good idea by many members of the British government so they cannot have another dictator get into power like what happened in Germany back in the 30's.
- The dominion of India is formed; this new Dominion has control over all of India, East and West Pakistan, Burma and Sri Lanka. This soon proves to be a problem, as the Muslim majority in Pakistan already wants independence from India. The British respond by sending developmental aid the poor regions of the Empire such as India and parts of Africa, the British government hope to have these regions developed by early 2000. To also further this goal, the British government begins to train African and Indian leaders in banking, finance, economics and science so once these countries do reach full independence they will be a strong ally of the British Empire.

- The British, release Palestine as its own independent country for the Jewish people. This new country is named Israel is said to be a safe haven for all Jewish people around the world. This already proved to be problematic as the native Palestinians already live in Israel. The British decide to partition the country between both groups. Although this seems to relieve the problem for now it is obvious that this will only be temporary fix as Israel's neighbors already want the Country removed.
